A phenomenal pastrami sandwich. Great fresh bread, generous amount of meat and toppings were fresh.

Love this place! The burgers are really great. They come with special bbq chips not store bought. They also have some really great sandwiches. The price is reasonable too.

Ordered through doordash for lunch cause I was feeling lazy. Got the Italian and it was great, as were the homemade bbq chips it came with. It held up well on the delivery trip too. Where I grew up in Boston a specific style of Italian sub was fairly popular and it's hard to get a good one out here, and this one reminded me of them and really hit the spot so I'm glad I found this place. I'm curious to try the pastrami and some of the other sandwiches next.

They only have four kinds of drinks, good coffee, good cold brew, but you cannot expect more than that. The place is clean and nice. I took out 2 stars because they closed the door connect to the library (maybe to limit students sitting here) and they also close the toilet, which I found very inconvenient as I need to walk outside, through another library door to get to the restroom inside the library. I understand they need to monetize all the sitting space, but this is aggressive and very unwelcoming.

The location in SAP Center is HORRIBLE! I don't generally beat up restaurants this harshly but for $16.00 their Pastrami Sandwich was one slice of meat, maybe an ounce, a pile of warm slaw, and a disgusting 2 inches of bread. This is an absolute ripoff. I'm okay to pay the higher prices as long as you do a reasonably good job. By no stretch of any imagination would any reasonable person rate this good. I 9nly wish I would have taken a photo to post with this review. Get it together "chef", you shouldn't rip off the public like this. Now I know why they had no line! Looks like a restaurant space will be opening up soon at SAP.

I really enjoyed this place. I got the pastrami sandwich. It was really good, had a lot of meat, very flavorful. It was a bit heavy on the mustard and the chips on the side didn't have any salt but it was a good balance when eaten together. I'd eat here again.

i got the blt and pastrami sandwich. both were really small and had very little meat and fixings. the blt had soggy bacon. very poor value for the money

Cozy place with good quality food. I was there during an Event from SJSU with live music and the people were really in a good mood. I had a Coffee rubbed Brisket Sandwich which was okay but nothing special. The chips as a garnish i didn't really like. Maybe a bit expensive for every day use but definitely worth it for special occasions.

The Shop by Chef Baca is truly a local gem! When I dropped in I was luckily enough to chat with one of the owners, Madelyn, and she was so nice and helpful in ordering. Their menu is long and all of their meats are done in-house, meaning I can’t wait to try everything!I got The Shop Pastrami which was different than most pastrami’s I’ve had; the flavors were well balanced, all of the fixings made for an amazing sandwich! And the homemade bbq chips that come with it are divine!I’m luckily enough to work in the same building as The Shop and can’t wait to try more items - more pictures to come!

Madelyn and Rodney do a fantastic job at what they do. Their food is to die for and they are so welcoming. Anything you order is going to taste amazing. I've had their Eastside burger and that was the best burger I've had in a very long time. They also cater as well and do an extraordinary job.

I found our food excellent and highly recommend this place. If you are a vegetarian, just let them know and they can adapt their menu items!

Honestly, food was just okay. The brisket wasn't particularly flavorful, the potatoes tasted like it was too heavy on the sour cream, corn is corn but certainly nothing special. It's not offensive, and not bad... just there are so many better options. I believe they sent the wrong mac n cheese, I ordered the bacon mac but the one I got tasted like the truffle mac.
