“I've never been the biggest fan of Subway but like most people faced with the mediocre lunch options of a suburban shopping center, I've been to my fair share.My friend and I were in the middle of a road trip and had come to the beginning of the Ortega highway. Knowing that this would be the last food stop for miles, we let out a familiar sigh - a sigh that I have come to know as the Subway sigh. A sigh that comes when you know there are a million other places you'd rather eat but this is what you've got.I went with my go to order, the Italian BMT. It was generously loaded with meat, toasted to perfection, and abundantly populated with fresh veg. The spreads were proportionate, the wrap up was perfect, and the cookie was warm. Everything about this eating experience was amazing. I can confidently say this is the best Subway I've ever been to.Not to mention the woman behind the counter, who I assume to be the owner, was INCREDIBLY sweet. I was transported back to a time when my mom would make me sandwiches when I came inside after a long day of play.In closing...yes, this is still a Subway, but it's a special one.
