26 Best Craft Breweries near San Leandro

Fieldwork Brewing Company - San Leandro Brewery • $$
100A W Juana Ave, San Leandro

“Great place to hang out, have snacks or a meal. Recommend bringing a beer geek with you to sift through the multitude of beery offerings. They have an impressive selection of "old school" beers in bottles: barleywine (above average), imperial stout (multiple varieties), and Belgian dubbel (also above average). Not much for the kids to drink, though my 11 and 14 each found something decent. The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had, the pizza is decent, and the service is good.Demerits for the bench seating with no backs for the Over 40 crowd, the minimal kid drink selection, and it can be difficult to find parking nearby on the weekends.“

21st Amendment Brewery Brewery • $
2010 Williams St, San Leandro

“Their Blood Orange IPA is magnificent! I was in the Bay Area for the New Year so I had to visit their brewery. Huge brewery inside & outside with outdoor patio, great for big gatherings. They have appetizers and sandwiches but their main is obviously their craft beers. They have variety of beers so if its your first time, start with flights and see what you like. They also have Happy Hours on the weekdays. Their August Beer Festival is one of a kind.4.6/5 ⭐️“

Drake's Brewing Company Brewery • $
1933 Davis St #177, San Leandro

“Excellent spot before an A's game. We've often come here for food and drinks, and it's a short Uber ride to the stadium. Ordering food and drinks can be done from your phone, and service is really prompt. Lots of space, both indoor and outdoor. Drake's beer speaks for itself - if you haven't tried Hopocalypse it's a tasty hazy DIPA staple, give it a shot. Like many breweries, they've embraced the Hazy craze, but not just for the sake of sales, their hazies are excellent. They've added Juicy Hoot and Hazing Saddles and I enjoyed both. If you're not a Hazy person, there are plenty of choices - pils, hefe, stout, lagers, sours - pick your poison. The tater tots are a good compliment to the beer selection. When the A's pack up for Vegas, I'll surely find another excuse to head up for some good beer and food.“

Sante Adairius Rustic Ales Oakland Arbor Brewpubs •
460 8th St, Oakland - 8.3 miles

“I haven't been here for many years. It's always been a Belgian beer bar. I'm not sure when Sante Adairius took it over but they've pretty much kept it the same as it was, in a good way. As I tend to drink IPA's, I was happy that they also had some on the menu. I tried the Left and Leaning, a non hazy that I really enjoyed. My friend had a very properly poured St. Bernardus (see photo). The service was great. Also on hand is a lovely, friendly Irish Setter. It was very fun when he visited our table. There's a nice $5 parking lot next door with an attendant. This alone would bring me back :)“

Original Pattern Brewing Brewery • $
292 4th St, Oakland - 8 miles

“Original Pattern Brewing Company serves up some of the finest craft beer I've ever had. I first tried their IPAs at Paulista's Brazilian taproom(highly recommend), where they have a rotating selection on draft that can compete with brews from anywhere. The tropical, citrusy hop flavors of their West Coast-style IPAs are perfectly balanced and go down smooth. Beyond the beer, they have a pizza pop-up out front that's worth checking out. With quality brews and good food, Original Pattern is a can't-miss stop for any craft beer lover. I highly recommend checking them out - you won't be disappointed!“

Oakland United Beerworks Brewery • $$
262 2nd St, Oakland - 7.95 miles

“My favorite brewery in Oakland and it’s not even close. Large and diverse selection of beers such as IPA’s, malty ( schwarzbier, dopplebock, brown ale, etc), and light beers. the inside can be kind of tight but they have plenty of outdoor seating and the upstairs which has more seating and an entertainment area for kids. The customer service and the owners are always good people and there is food trucks always outside when I’m there which are quality as well. The only thing I can recommend is to watch your cars in the area. It’s still Oakland but I have yet to see a break in of my car or others but I would take valuables out. Other then that come visit this brewery, enjoy the amazing beers and good people.“

The ambiance is warm and inviting with a clean, minimalist look. The beer is stellar, and they always keep variety on tap. Hoi has become an anchor for the neighborhood.“

Brix Factory Brewing Brewery •
2400 Mandela Pkwy, Oakland - 9.72 miles

“WELCOME TO WEST OAKLAND BRIX! This new brewery on the west side opened up less than a month ago and has all the essentials for a spring/summer fun day in the sun. - Plenty of Outdoor seated on a patio - Really spacious indoor seating - Plenty of hours in direct and indirect sunlight - Great variety of beers on tap I tried the Siklon Stout which was very good. Served at a great temp and not too foamy. The servers are experienced, some coming over from the very popular Almanac brewing company so they are used to handling big groups and educating on what they have on tap. Prices were very reasonable. Come show the new business some love, I for sure will be venturing back this summer many times.“

Two Pitchers Brewing Company Beer Gardens • $
2344 Webster St, Oakland - 8.5 miles

“The atmosphere at 2 Pitchers is always great, there are plenty of seating options. 2 Pitchers specializes in brewing RADLERS which are like fruitier beers that are lighter on the ABV than other popular craft beers. They have a good selection of their own brewed beers ($6 per pint) and then they also have a great variety of local beers from other craft brewers in the area which go for $8-10 per pint. They also have some wines but no liquor license. You can get a burger or fries from Lovely's (which always has a line!) and eat it here. There are indoor and outdoor seating options, and it is very dog and kid friendly.“

Cellarmaker BERKELEY Brewery •
940 Parker St, Berkeley - 11.78 miles

“I just discovered this great brewery. They have a nice array of IPA's and don't miss the Coffee and Cigarette's Stout. Yum. I only tried the meatballs, but they were very tasty with just the right amount of spice. The SF Chronicle food critics highly rate their pizza. They have a special pizza of the day plus a couple of standards. Big open space inside and out for big gatherings and also comfortable for me and my husband. We would have preferred different music, but other people seemed to like it. Don't miss this neighborhood gem.“

Takara Sake USA Inc. Brewery • $
708 Addison St, Berkeley - 12.51 miles

“Man, I really like very curated "touristy" experiences like this. It was cool to find one so close to home. The tasting is fun, and very educational - we watched a video at the beginning, and the woman who ran the tasting taught us a lot about what made each pour taste different. A lot more information than a typical wine tasting, and very tasty. Great date idea, but would also be fun with a group of friends or even alone.“

Tenma Beer Project Brewery • $$
6510 San Pablo Ave, Oakland - 11.07 miles

“Love this place! Stopped by for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome selection of beers on tap. Had an amazing rice lager that was out of this world, and some other really great pilsners. The music was also perfect Friday night vibes. Service was awesome and we will be back! Fun little neighborhood spot. Used to be another brewery that closed down, so happy Tenma came in and revived!“

Ghost Town Brewing - Laurel Brewery • $
3506 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland - 5.33 miles

“I love this Laurel location of GTB. They have sunny, outdoor patio seating and a fantastic food selection (with a full kitchen) as well as countless beers on tap to be enjoyed.Street parking is the name of the game here, so easy to find as there are tons of shops and stores in this area. Upon walking in, I could see lots of picnic tables in shaded outdoor seating on synthetic turf. There's also lawn chairs if you're into lounging, and more seating in the back as you walk in. They're dog and kid-friendly, have strong wifi, and have fantastic mid-sized crisp and fluffy fries. GET THEM. Serve-yourself condiments and utensils. You order everything at the taptender/cashier, and a fantastic food runner delivers the food to your table. Staff are all wonderful and kind, also love the open kitchen concept.I loved that there were so many sours on tap, and was very happy to go with Glitter box which was so delicious, not tart/puckery, and with a hint of funk "like a saison" my taptender so brilliantly stated. My friend enjoyed the lager, and we happily chipped away at the huge bowl of fries. Beer lovers will enjoy this space, so great for lounging in the sun and enjoying a gorg day off.“

Canyon Club Brewery Brewery • $$
1558 Canyon Rd, Moraga - 7.65 miles

“Went here on a Sunday. I loved how we were seated right away. It was a cold afternoon and they had a large fire place as well as heaters. The food arrived extremely fast. We tried the Brussels sprouts, German pancakes, and chicken tenders. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, the German pancakes were ok, they needed salt. My boyfriend loved the chicken tenders. The beer was also great. We both had flights, I noticed a man was setting up his music to perform a live show. Will definitely come back here.“

Cellarmaker House of Pizza Brewery •

“Highly recommend their brie and hot honey pizza! It also comes with Asian pears and pistachio. The crust was simply amazing.. why can't all crusts be like this?! My partner doesn't like crusts at all, but she wouldn't stop complimenting it.Also ordered their coffee & cigarettes, which is a smoked coffee porter. Recognized St. Frank since we had it back in SF.“

Ale Industries Brewery • $
3096 E 10th St, Oakland - 5.3 miles

“A nice quiet spot for enjoying a pint of delicious local beer. The brewery is also doing their part for the environment by using bioenergy to fuel their brewing operation. Bummer that the state of affairs in Oakland is forcing them to close and unfortunately that also meant no food options other than chips. The bartender was super friendly and explained the local art that was on display to us. I appreciated them brewing the variety of Town Beers that would benefit local charities. I hope they are able to find a good home for their barn cats. I'm looking forward to trying the 4-packs I took home!“

Wondrous Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1306 65th St, Emeryville - 11.21 miles

“Full disclosure: I'm more of a wine drinker than a beer one. Physically I think this place is a beautiful place to hang out. It's kind of a modern industrial take on a biergarten with high ceilings and lots of wood and stainless steel. I've never seen it anything but spotlessly clean. When the weather is warm I definitely prefer hanging out on the patio area in front. They don't serve food themselves, but they sometimes have a food truck and are totally fine with you bringing in outside food. There are a handful of great food choices within walking distance. They're known for their IPAs which aren't usually my jam, but there are always other interesting options to try. For example I had their new "Dark Headed" Imperial Stout on my last visit and really enjoyed it. (It was almost like a dessert wine, but beer if that makes any sense?) They also have taster pours so you can sample one or build a custom flight. It does get a little busy on Friday around happy hour and on weekends. But the service has always been friendly and knowledgeable. I've never had to wait long for drink either. It's obvious they take pride in the product and what they do. They go above and beyond and I am happy to applaud them for it.“

“We reserved 3 tables on the patio at Temescal Brewing for a baby shower get-together. It was great! Sam and the team were so helpful throughout the day and leading up to the process via email. We were able to bring our own food, and give out wristbands to have guests put drinks on our tab. Would definitely come back here with a group!“

Buck Wild Brewing & Taproom Brewery • $$

“We’ve been in multiple times, enough to almost be “regulars”. Every experience has been better than the last. The food is amazing. Michael really kills it with all of his regular menu items and totally knocks it out of the park with his specials! Oh, and the beer…??!! Delicious. We love that we can always take a few of our favorites home with us to enjoy between visits. Super friendly staff, we love Sophia and Chris and look forward to getting to know all the new folks too. Highly recommend. Easy parking. Super safe area.“
