“Every time I have come here everyone is really friendly. The last time I was there I tried their carne asada torta and it was delicious! It also comes with fries. I also ordered an horchata which was also really good. This is my new favorite place to get tortas.“

“They always mess up your order. I've had my order messed up here more times than I can count or missing items. Food is good sometimes but what can you expect from microwaved food? The service isn't the best at times. We had a young lady give us an attitude when we asked for no ice. She pretended she couldn't hear us and replied to us condensing. I understand fast food workers have it hard enough with rude customers but we weren't rude and both me and my boyfriend have worked in fast food for a long time before in other chain fast food restaurants and the behavior from her isn't acceptable. Don't bother to report these workers because fast food places need people to help whether they're bad at their jobs or not.“

“Getting anything from here is such a treat. The super burrito is massive and I usually split it with my girlfriend and still have half a burrito the next day. It’s as big as my forearm! Handmade tortillas on the tacos and the meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly, never chewy. The horchata is soo good too and they ask if you want ice, which is very nice. Even their salsas are exceptional. They used to have pickled red onions with habanero that was SO good to eat alongside but don’t offer that anymore which is a heartbreaking honestly…please bring it back!!!“

“The best damn tacos in Oakland, full stop. Usually carne asada is a throwaway order, bland cardboard for white people (like me) who don't know anything about Mexican food (fortunately not like me). Not here. A friend who used to be a Michelin star chef proclaimed this the best carne asada he'd had outside of Mexico, and I agree wholeheartedly. And that's not where the show stops. Super legit pastor, fire fish tacos, solid vegetarian options, and don't skip the specials--I have yet to be let down. The brisket barbacoa especially is one of my top three tacos I've had in my entire life. Get the handmade flour tortillas, it's worth the extra money. And did I mention unlimited guacamole? Show me another place with unlimited guacamole. Not to mention the otherworldly salsa matcha. Don't sleep on this spot.“

“This place is a winner. I've had several burritos (carne asada, al pastor, and pollo) and tortas (pollo both times), and they were all excellent. Not dry, tons of everything, large portions, not over-priced. I hope these people can stick around. Support them!“

“This place is a weekend go to! I like the Camaron taco most, and the Pollo tacos are really good too. I’ve tried nearly all the vegan tacos in Oakland, and this is my favorite by far.Heart and dagger is around the corner, and they let you bring in food, so that’s a nice option, or the live music at the farmer’s market Saturday afternoons.“

“This place is in an old strip mall shopping center. It used be a salvadorian restaurant before and they were ok. This place is much better. The food tastes pretty good . The burritos are huge and the tacos are regular sized tortillas( not street taco sized) and they were loaded with meat. Customer service was good. There's really not much seating her but it's OK I always take it to go. They have good salsas and sliced cucumbers. They also have pickled onions with habeneros (which are delicious) and slice pickled jalapeños. I think this will be my new go to spot for Mexican food.Parking: Lots of parking here“

“This place does not disappoint.I got a DoorDash delivery of chicken fajitas just a little bit ago . The generous portions will allow for another meal or two out of this the next day or so .The chicken was seasoned beautifully, as well as the tender peppers and onions The corn tortillas and toppings were fresh and yummy . “A few people in line ahead of me when arrived. My friend and I had looked at the menu and photos on Yelp ahead of time and honestly it didn't help. There were so many delicious looking items. Person at the window took my order, was super clear and precise. It took a bit of time to get our order. There were probably 6 orders ahead of ours, and it took maybe 10 minutes? It felt longer because it was cold outside lol thankfully there are tables. It wasn't loud, patrons are decently quiet. Just normal East Oakland traffic sounds. Everything I ordered was delicious. “Delicious Mexican snacks, traditional beverages, and an awesome variety of ice cream and sherbet flavors! The street -style tacos are perfect if you crave a quick snack. My all time favorites are full of tender, yummy carnitas! The nachos are crisp and flavorful, I really enjoyed the chicken nachos. For liquid refreshment, the horchata is a traditional flavor; so good! I also have a new favorite: the guava agua fresca! Bits of guava pulp were a welcome surprise. When in season, the coconut ice cream is my all time fave, I usually pair it with a scoop of their lime sherbet. Win-win! For a very refreshing flavor, try the watermelon sherbet. “This is by far, in my opinion, the best taco truck in Oakland. I ordered two regular asada burritos, which come with cheese and sour cream, for me and bro. As always, there were a bunch of others ordering their food as well, but the wait wasn’t bad at all. The area isn’t the best, but I’ve been coming here for decades and have never had any issues. “Felt like I was back in the motherland (Mexico). The dark, sketchy street just adds to the atmosphere. This place takes zelle if you don't have cash. The tacos are 3 bucks a pop, and they fill them fat. Best dang taco I've had in a while.“

“My son and I came here two times during our visit to catch some baseball in San Fran and Oakland. Don't let the area distract you. It is heavy industrial and is fairly safe and the food here is exceptional and some of the best tacos I have ever had. For 10 to 12 bucks a person you walk out of here very full and can't complain a bit.“

“We came here for dinner on a Tuesday night. There was no line when we got there. You order and pay at the counter. They had plenty of seats available in the dining area. The place was clean and tidy. We both ordered the pescado frito which came with/ rice, your choice of beans, salad, pickled onions and plantains. I ordered a very delicious mango agua fresca and he ordered a margarita. It took about 15 minutes to get our food. The whole plate was delicious. The fish was nice and crispy, the salad was perfect and before I knew it, I had finished my plate. I was stuffed and the food was perfectly portioned for me. “This is my go to truck in Hayward, I’m lucky enough to live around the corner, this truck makes up for Val’s closing..IYKYK it’s located at the end of Bst.before you hit Center St. and when I drive by Vermont and I don’t see the yellow truck with the canopy I actually get sad, real talk the tacos I get are actually therapeutic. I get 4 Pastor tacos with pineapple and all the fixings, onions, cilantro, and a sauce that is hot but not too hot(if you like it hot)get mild if you can’t hang lol the people working are always the same friendly great people each time I go see them, they even gave me a hand with my car when I was in the rain, ate good and got my car on the road. They do it all lol best flavored Pastor, I’ve tried numerous different trucks and hands down they are the best in the bay. And the price was very reasonable for 4 tacos and a can of coke its 12.50 after 3 dollar tip it was 15 bucks…never spent a better 15 in my life…five stars would be the minimum I’d add a couple more!Parking: Parking is no more than 5 feet away and is always lit good and available most of the time.“

“Must Try! I went for the long awaited first time last week and I loved the place! I asked for 4 steak tacos with chips and guacamole to be divided into 2 to go bags and they cheerfully split the 1 order of chips and guacamole. They were busy and they worked together as a team getting the food out fast and a problem with the cash system working. It's a great family feel, with high quality ingredients. The best thing is the steak is so tasty!! I'm impressed with the from scratch guacamole, everything is very fresh. I noticed the tall rotisserie of marinated pork and I'm excited to try that this week!! It's such a great edition to The Glenview.“

“Went here based on a review on the Lakeside FB page picture. Ordered the, cannot spell and dont feel like looking up, fried pork bites (maybe belly). Unfortunately, ours were way over fried. Very dark brown and a hard chew. If not over cooked; would be awesome! We ate a couple but left the rest. The place is small and very clean. Very nice staff. Real coke, in the bottle, with a cup of ice. Cane sugar... it is different, if you didn't know. Therefore, no refills here. Also, you do not get free chips and salsa just for sitting at a table. You will pay about 5.00 for chips and salsa, you want cheese dip? Another 5.00. Fine. Do you want authentic flavor? (My opinion) Shed your Americanized view of hispanic foods. Look at the menu, you get the chance to eat things that you've only seen on the Food Network or if you were in an hispanic country. We also had a taco salad. Lovely and crispy. The bottom layer was some hot red sauce (both in heat and nicely spiced - so delish, not killer) - rice, shredded cheese, steak bits (chix or shrimp is also an option) iceberg lettuce (not uniformly shredded), guac, sour cream, few diced tomatoes and a bit more shredded cheese (mostly yellow - assume cheddar but to little to tell)Bottom line. The taco salad was awesome - get a fork-ful of it all. All of the flavors blended. We loved that the steak was charred but still tender. Tiny diced bites of diced steak, but it was good! We would have like a medium cook, yet charred - but even fully cooked, they know how to slice the steak, so it was not chewy. After you eat here.... Go a couple doors down for the in-house made ice cream. Try the pine nut "pinion' - or any that strikes your fancy. Put it on your list.“

“Pizza and Mexican food? Say less.. Similar to another review we've been living here for about 5 years and had only just tried this pizzeria the other day. Comparable pricing to other pizzerias around. We got a large with chorizo, pepperoni, jalapenos, and onions (I think this was the Deluxe?). The next day my stomach was super upset but hello, I was eating a pizza with chorizo and jalapenos on it. My stomach and GI tract were not happy but it was so worth it. When we went inside to pick up the food, there was a more updated menu -- we were only able to place a phone order on what we saw based on the menu images on Yelp. Little did we know there were more to choose from! Would love to try La Toreada or La Valiente.. They also have things like hot dogs, burgers, wings, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, tacos.. they have it all.. Would love to come back and try more. It's so close to where we live.. “One word to describe this place "WOW." The food was honestly beyond our expectations. We were looking for something near by to eat and we came across Pipirin. The order was ready within minutes from ordering. We order tortas and tacos of pierna, carnitas, birria and Lengua all meats where so good to say the least. This is a must try.“
