Hidden gem in strip mall, currently to go only. Frozen dumplings and hot food to go, cash only. Hot food can pay with CC. Surprisingly all the food was cooked excellent and yummy delicious. Next time, I'll try their popcorn chicken and chicken wings. It's got a different flare to the cooking when compared to other Northern or Shanghai style places around the penisula area. Same parking lot down the row from 7-11 behind the gas station.

First off, the food was decent, the beef chow mein was solid. The generals chicken though... looked like a half portion, like 15 total bites, and 75% of it was batter. I was super excited to try this place having just moved into the neighborhood and them being just down the block. But if you're going to hand out child size potions for average food then there's a dime a dozen other Chinese food places I'd rather go to. Guess I'll try one of the 3 other Chinese restaurants up the block next time. Definitely not worth coming back to this place

This spot is absolutely tasty and worth it ! The dumplings are very fresh and made from scratch. Taste super traditional! The only thing I was sad about a little was the shrimp and chive dumplings, they didn't have much shrimp at all honestly had only the tail and a bunch of chives .

Stopped by on my way home. Kind of average. There are definitely places nearby that are similar with better food.

3.5 star mainly because of their price point, ok taste, varieties offered, and being a small business during COVID (definitely not for their customer service, portion size and taste). If you are not a picky eater and only value cheap eat, this is a great place for you.

Best dumplings! If you buy their frozen dumplings it’s cash only.

This restaurant does not allow seated dining due to the COVID lockdowns. However, they sell frozen dumplings that you can take home and easily heat and serve at home. We get these dumplings almost every week. They are fabulous and we will continue to order. Check out their menu for all the choices!

Quite happy to find this little gem in San Mateo. Ordered frozen dumplings and chive pockets. Everything tastes really good. I will definitely order more in the future.

Way solid, and currently our local go-to for dumplings. They have the rare pork and corn dumplings, which so far as I've found are only available elsewhere at Kingdom of Dumpling. They also sell frozen dumplings for cooking at home. Things we've had: 4 *: -Lamb dumplings -Pork and corn dumplings -Lamb skewers -Fried string beans: good, a bit sweet. Has fried tofu in it, as well. -Pork elbow -Sesame pancake with marinated beef 3.5 *: -Shanghai soup dumplings: not bad, decent flavor. 3 *: -Cilantro salad with bean stick: the tofu skin is a bit too hard, and the sauce is a bit watery -Fresh noodles with tomato: soupy broth, not bad, if a bit light. Not sure if the cucumbers are good in it. The noodles are not bad. Notes: -Take out only right now during the pandemic. -You can order their cooked food online or via delivery apps, but frozen items (as far as I know) have to be purchased on site. They also only take cash for the frozen items.

Town of Dumpling reminds me of summers in my childhood when I'd visit family members living in Beijing. There's a loud authenticity to this dumpling shop, when you can peer through the kitchen door and see the aunties making dumplings together. I lived within walking distance of this restaurant and would frequently come by once a week as a way to destress.By far their best dish is the Sesame Pancake with Marinated Beef. Its flavorful, with very nice textures. My favorite dumpling from here is the very standard pork and cabbage. A lot of their very beijing dishes, like lamb skewers, taste exactly like lamb skewers sold on the street in Beijing from my childhood. Some other solid recommendations: Broccoli Beef, Stir fried mushroom and vegetable, Garlic String Beans, and pretty much anything on their side dish menu is authentic and on point. When I come, I usually buy their homemade frozen dumplings. Make sure to bring cash for these, as these are cash only.I would avoid all the noodle soup dishes. The broth they use is generally under-flavored and sort of bland. This is a Beijing restaurant, not a Shanghai restaurant so pass on the soup dumplings too. Stick to dumplings and small eats for the best experience!
