My favorite birria tacos. Love coming here for lunch, it's great food. I think it's a must try in the area.

I first started coming to La Super Birria few years ago with recommendations from fellow Yelpers. Since then whenever I'm nearby I make an effort to stop by for Tradicional Classica. It is always delicious!! Fresh and warm tortillas, birria with consome, and fresh onions, cilantro, and lemons!! I do remember it being spicier and miss that very much. Although hot sauce is provided, it wasn't quite the same. Other than that service was great and food came out quickly! Definitely worth a visit when you're craving birria.

This is my ode to the barbacoa burrito: WOW Barabacoa, barbacoa, whatever would I do without thee. Your tender sinew and your melted cheese would make any hero weak in the knees! If you're in the mood for barbacoa and don't mind a little grease & loud Mariachi, this is your spot. The service was much higher than expected. They bring you a condiment carrier with sauce, lemon, onions, & cilantro. The barbacoa was tenderly cooked with love and covered in gooey cheese that melts in your mouth. Along with the burrito, I also had a horchata, which was quite refreshing! This place is pretty non-descriptive from the road, so keep an eye out. A "must try" if you're in the area!

I have been here a few times before and it's always delicious buuuuttttt I thought id bring my mom here to truly test the authenticity of the Birria.. she makes the best birria hand down!!! We ordered the classic Birria plate and an order of queso birria tacos along with 2 jamaicas. My mom is a crazy hard critic she hates everything... as I watched her take a few bites she looked at me and said "esta bueno" holy smokes she actually loved it! She thought the Jamaica was also perfectly sweet. With tears of joy and maybe fear.. she can be so critical.. we left with our hunger satisfied and also a to-go order of the classic plate for my spoiled brother who doesn't deserve anything ;( oh and service was awesome w / plenty of seating and parking.

First time ordering from this place. I was excited because it's very popular so I thought they'd have something great to offer. I Ordered 3 quessabirria's and consome for delivery and I was disappointed in the lack of flavor. The quesabirria tortilla was huge but was breaking at the bottom so It was super messy to try to eat. The consome had no birria in it, which is the first time I've seen it served like that compared to other spots I've been to. Idk about you guys but I like lime in my consome, well they gave me lemons and I feel annoying complaining about this but it didn't taste as good as it would've with limes instead.. most likely won't be ordering from here anymore.

Beware of this place. They have dishonest employees. I was the only person in the restaurant and ordered a single birria with consume. I waited for over 29 minutes without the order being filled as the two workers were chit chatting. I cancelled my order and have a receipt to prove it that it was cancelled but they still charged my CC anyways. This is the Santa Ana location. I will also be reporting this to BBB. ****UPDATING MY REVIEW**** From 1 Star to 3. If I was to rate based on the Management/Ownership handling it would "5" Stars! I was contacted by Super Birria Management/Ownership the same day this review was posted and the refund was addressed. I can say that the Mangement/Ownership truly cares about their customers and brand by addressing this quickly and contacting me personally. 5 stars to the Management for rectifying this issue quickly. -2 star for the two employees who demostrated a lack of customer service.

Came here while many of us were experiencing the Sunday scaries haha. We just needed some kind of revitalization and this was just the place. Pretty big space, ample parking right out front. Plenty of plate options but I decided to go with the tacos dorados. Staff was nice and I would say quick too. We were served our plates pretty quickly. The birria itself was good but I feel like the consome lacked some flavor. Maybe salt? I usually don't like salty foods but I'd give it a 4/5. Music is blasting in here that there was a moment where it stopped and it got really quiet haha.

I was surprised to see the mixed reviews, but I must've come on a good day because I thoroughly enjoyed their food. My BIL recommended this place and so we decided to come here for lunch on a Tuesday around 11:00a. This is located off of 1st Street, between Flower Street and Bristol Street. It sits by itself, not in a strip mall or anything, so it may be easy to miss. They also have locations in Orange, Long Beach, and Stanton. The inside was kind of empty still, perhaps being early in the week and before prime lunch time, with Spanish karaoke music playing. It's like a mini supermarket with lots of snacks, condiments, etc. that's available for purchase, too. We went up to the register and ordered the sopa de la casa (house ramen birria + consommé, $14.99), birria tour (quesabirria + red taco + bomb taco + consommé, $11.99), and dorado taco ($3.29). We also got horchata ($3.99) and tamarindo ($3.99) to drink. They had a sign for Taco Tuesday so we asked if it applies right now and the lady said "yes," but I guess we didn't get the right tacos because nothing was discounted...oh well. The birria ramen was so good...the noodles were pretty chewy though (my BIL said that they make their own?), but it kept its shape in the hot soup. If anything, it's the soup that made this so superb...I can drink it by itself...and the meat, I think they crisped it up (pan-fried?) for this dish, which was a nice touch. The ramen came with one taco, too. The tacos were good, too. For the crunchy tacos, they put a crunchy shell on the outside of another shell (see pic). It's not full on crunch like the tacos at Taco Bell or Del Taco (sorry to even compare with them), but still had a nice crunchy texture. What I really liked was that they give you a condiment server that has cilantro, onions, lime, salsa, and cucumbers so that you can customize your tacos (the tacos only had meat in them for that reason, I think). I absolutely cannot eat cilantro so this was a win for me. Onions and lime, that's all I needed. Their horchata and tamarindo were yummy, too! It's like a 20oz cup, I think, but I could've had another cup to wash the food down. Btw, don't wear white! Lol

Worst birria I have tasted this year, came on a Sunday thinking birria would be served fresh but to my surprise it had a smell to it. As soon as I arrive I saw that it was self order and the place looked nice but it is not kept clean. The owner arrived and he started to spray febreze. I know he smelled something wrong too. Well my first bite was enough for me to put my tacos down which were cold served already and the salsas are not even tasty nor unique to the birria. My experience was bad. I paid $120 for five people and it is not worth it it. Not worth the drive. Not worth the hype. Did not pass my taste. I 100% recommend Don Vargas Birreria in Chula Vista, CA.
