My last review was taken down... not sure why. They said the email I got from yelp stated, "We're reaching out to let you know that our moderators removed the review and photos you posted to Donut Star because it didn't look like your content depicted an experience at this location." My original review, "Have been coming here (Donut Star on McFadden and Grand) for about 2 years. Hadn't been in a few months but recently I went and food was very poor quality. Food was extremely greasy, orange chicken had a different chipotle flavor, everything was extremely salty and I even found a piece of what appeared to be hard plastic in my food. Bf ordered similar items and green bean chicken and the green beans were so overcooked they were withered. Not going back." No longer have the images showing the unidentified object in my food so can't re-post those images.

I came here for nearly a decade - I don't know if they replaced any chefs but their food just doesn't taste the same anymore. The chow mein's got an odd texture, the rice used to be superb but now it comes off under or overcooked, and the meat... tastes like beyond vegan meat.Yeah, chinese food is only a value if you can finish it. I think it's a pity, but I will not be returning to eat here.

I use to come here often, but after hearing about their discriminatory actions against their workers for not speaking Chinese, I am ashamed of this establishment.

The Thai tea I ordered, they placed rotten milk in it. Perhaps not intentionally, but definitely not fresh. Rather than placing creamer on my drink like how the drink is supposed to be made. She placed cow milk instead. The Asian American lady who works here also tried to change the price of the drink to a higher price, but I told her what the menu said. The doughnuts do not look fresh like other places.
Been going to this spot since I was a kid. Memories. Still a great place to stop by to eat with family. Love that they have a drive thru. Only thing is the food has gotten super expensive.

If you want good Chinese and a lot of it, you need to try these place. The ladies are super nice, and everything is delicious, definitely a secret of Santa Ana.

My first time here, I came by to pick up my favorite old-fashion glaze. Around 9 AM, there was no line and not much selection, but they had the old fashions. The price was lower than I expected, and the flavor was great.
