The food was a bit of a mixed bag! Their fried food is lovely; crispy and well seasoned, it’s freshly fried and piping hot when it hits the table. My friend got the tri-tip sandwich and greatly enjoyed it, my partner and I got a half rack of ribs with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The Mac and cheese was decent but a bit grainy, and the baked beans were mostly nice but very heavy on the cumin, and the ribs had a nice smokey flavor but you had to work a bit to get the meat off the bones. The staff was friendly and attentive, the ambiance was laid back and their tap options were excellent.

I had an event booked there FOR THIS SATURDAY and was just told, 4 days before my event that they "have to cancel" because it's going to be too busy to host my event. I have had a contract and menu in place for months and I am absolutely astonished by the lack of respect and professionality of this place. Absolutely absurd! DO NOT BOOK EVENTS HERE!

The chicken was raw in the middle, causing me to vomit!

When I was going to SCU, this was more of a dive bar. I love that it is now owned by an alum and he's turned it into a lunch spot. At first when someone suggested the Hut, I was confused because I thought it was still pretty much a bar! It's changed since I graduated (many moons ago). They have good lunch specials. The most popular seems to be sandwich and fries combo. Give this place a try!

We ordered the tri tip sandwich with fries ? The meat was smoked, good flavor but it had some grease at the sides and in the middle. The bread had garlic butter but it was dripping with butter. The French fries were way too salty and oily and came with a spicy seasoning that I didn’t like and I didn’t know it was included. They should specify that in the menu. They don’t update their website cause it says that on weekdays they have free fries with any sandwich but that’s not honored at the restaurant. The tri tip sandwich was $14 and the large fries were $8.Parking: On weekdays you can find some parking spots on the street but during weekends it may be more difficult

I was recently at the Hut not too long ago and the most welcoming staff there. Julie the bartender there was great. She was very welcoming and so nice to talk to. She instantly made me feel very welcome there. She seem very attentive and definitely more than meets the eye beyond her beautiful smile She recommended me the tri- tip sandwich and I must say I fell in love instantly. It's because of excellent service that Julie provided along with her outgoing personality that I will definitely go back. I love the new look of the establishment as well. And I hope they continue to hire more excellent employees like Julie in the near future. She's amazing

It would have been nice to have real cutlery and plates rather than plastic.

They really cleaned this place up since I went to law school next door almost a quarter century ago. They still serve drinks. They now serve food, and it's pretty solid. And the entire place looks much better. I was cringing a little when someone wanted to meet me for lunch there; now, I might be suggesting it myself in the future!

I have not been here since the last remodel some years ago. I went to college nearby (at SCU) a long time ago and this was a dive bar back "in the day." There is a lot more sunlight inside and the interior is very welcoming. No more dollar bills stuck on the ceiling! The waitstaff here are very nice, contrary to what I read in other reviews. Very friendly and let us know when we came in what was still available from the brunch menu. Even though they made an error in our order, they were quick to verify this and fix it. And my wife really enjoyed her grilled chicken burger. Tri-tip sandwich: 3.5/5. A pretty decent sandwich. I actually ordered the pulled port sandwich but was brought this instead. I mentioned to my waiter that there was a mistake. But rather than have them toss this sandwich I took it. The waiter stopped by a few minutes afterwards to make sure that I was happy with it. Not a huge portion, but just the right amount. But next time I will try the pork sandwich.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times because there are many dishes, the price of popular dishes is a bit high, I want to eat popular dishes with prices more suitable for those who come here often!

They hosted an event for our group and the Buffalo cauliflower, beyond burger build your own burger, and Pinot Noir wine were good. Friendly black girl up front.
