Waaaay understaffed at peak hours. I had to stop going here, because the wait was too long, too often.

I used to go to Chipotle with my girls regularly because it’s one of the only places we can all agree on. Every time we go to Chipotle, we ask for a side of salt both because we feel like the food needs a little salt and because we love whatever salt Chipotle uses. The employees sometimes looked at us funny when we asked, but they have always granted our wish…and why wouldn’t they? Asking for salt at a restaurant is a very normal thing given that most restaurants offer it freely either in shakers on the table or in single-use packets. However, the last time we went to this particular Chipotle location in November 2023 and asked for salt, the worker said “no.” When I inquired and informed him that we have always been given a side of salt at this and every other location, he asked the manager and she also said “no”. I said, “Really?” and explained again that we had always been given salt in the past, she confirmed that she could not give us salt.My daughters and I were extremely disappointed. For us, Chipotle salt was as essential to our meal as any other ingredient. Not only did I not appreciate being treated as if my request was crazy and out of the ordinary, but I failed to understand why we were denied such an inexpensive ingredient that they had readily available (I saw several boxes of salt on a shelf). Furthermore, I would have gladly paid for a side of salt as I would for any other side at Chipotle. Sadly, I wasn’t even given that option. For that reason, my family and I stopped going to Chipotle. Something that cost Chipotle pennies at most has cost them a family of what were and could have continued to be loyal regular customers.

Update : it's even worse. Had to tell each of 4 different people multiple times the same information about a simple burrito. Terrible food construction, shaped like a ball, incompletely wrapped in foil and leaking. Staff appears entirely untrained in food building and customer interactions. Demanding, constant miscommunication between each other. Complete chaos and disorganization. Needs competent supervision and investment in employees.

The entire restaurant is filthy. Tables, drink area, bathroom, counter where you order and pay. I couldn't find a clean place to sit and eat. I like Chipotle in general but this location has always been bad. Today it was bad enough to get me to write a review. The bathroom smelled like feces. There were no lids for regular size cups. All the agua frescas were empty.

Never order from the mobile app. It said it would be ready at 7:10, I ended up leaving empty handed at 7:45 without my food. When I tried to talk to staff they ignored me. About 3 of them either left the place or went to the back and never came back. One of the kitchen staff was on there phone while they could’ve been helping someone with there order.EDIT: went here again thinking it would redeem itself but I was wrong. This time, the staff was rude, careless, and the restaurant looked like it hadn’t even been cleaned in 3 weeks. The tables were disgusting, napkins were out, soda machine was out, few utensils, and several crazy homeless people were in and out (not the restaurants fault but the locations) overall, again, very poor experience here.

This is the WORST chipotle I’ve ever been to! I am appalled by the service at your Santa Cruz location. The restaurant was filthy, and the staff seemed more interested in shortchanging me than providing decent service. The portions were laughably small, and I felt robbed. This is a disgrace to your brand's name.I expect a prompt response and corrective action!

Thank god I’m not the owner of this franchise!! I purchased a burrito bowl, a burrito and chips. When I was in the parking lot I grabbed a chip to snack on. If having to put your dod down was a flavor this would be it. I couldn’t tell if it was stale or just soggy with grease I mean it was bad. I did seam like they were trying to mask the flavor with extra salt though. I took it back and was told that all their chips were kinda off today. Wow ok but they clearly were going to keep selling them. When I got home and went to grab the bag everything spilled out. My burrito bowl had been placed on its side and never closed correctly and the burrito was only 2/3 of the way wrapped. The grease and contents had spilled out saturated the bag and the upholstery of my car . So yeah, definitely one star for chipotle!

I constantly go to this branch because it's close to my home, but there's a problem here. The employees seem afraid to put the chosen dish on the plates; it's as if they're forced to do it. This level of incompetence is unacceptable. Are the higher-ups pressuring the employees, or is the money you're receiving not justified?Dietary restrictions: I constantly go to this branch because it's close to my home, but there's a problem here.
