Corona has it going on for unique takes on tacos, and El Rey is worth seeking out. In a recessed mini plaza off 6th Street in the old town, my recommendation is to go before the lunch rush. I dined in both times I visited, and the quality of the food and sides is amazing. Grilled cactus and onions, salsa choices ranging from medium to quite hot, and a wide range of side veggies. It's definitely a popular place, and the steady flow of people is testimony to their quality. They were grilling a bunch of chicken the first time, and it got smoky inside until someone opened a door. My house special burrito had both carne asada and al pastor inside, and everything was perfectly cooked and assembled. I blended two salsas and loved it all. My second visit a week later was equally enjoyable and slightly more expansive. I'd like to try something from the mariscos menu in the future. Until then, go here and try a new take on old favorites.

On our way to Joshua Tree, we stopped here for a quick bite. There were many meats that I was unfamiliar with and so of course, I wanted to try them but most of it was pork. Una lastima para mi. The lengua was my favourite. Everyone was really happy with their orders. Though note that the bean and cheese burrito has a LOT of cheese - it's very heavy both in weight and will make you feel like your arteries are shutting down. Don't forget to order the nopales!

I called to place an order and they let me waiting on the phone for 30 minutes. That's not a good service and I could hear the lady putting in other orders for the people in the restaurant. I think she took like at least 10 different orders when I was waiting on the phone sucks.

The food was so bomb. Have to try this spot!! There was a line which was a longer wait time but was worth it. The salsa bar was so good to, lots of salsa choices.

So today I went to El Rey Tacos. I ordered two shrimp tacos and one carne asada burrito. I waited nearly one hour before I decided to get my money refunded. I understand that my visit was during lint. But I will not be returning. An hour wait for a burrito and two tacos is unacceptable.

I don't care how good the food and tacos are, which they are good, but the parking is small so it's hard to get into and out of. But I'll just order ahead you might think. NOPE you can't do that. No online option and can't get threw on the phone. Just get a msg that says the mail box hasn't been set up yet. Doesn't even ring. We are in the age of door bash, Postmates, and GrubHub for there not to be a pick up or order online option.

Used to be awesome but last two times it was not a good experience, Two weeks ago I got my usual Pollo Nachos, they were stale and the chicken was rubbery, and the portion was very small!! Usually its awesome! And then Saturday morning I did not even get to order...the younger lady working the cash needs better training, leaving customers standing there with out taking our order and proceeding to make plates and sides!! And not washing her hands after touching money and then preparing food!!! Is gross...I won't be back...two stars for the times I went and it was good!!

El Rey Tacos Y Mariscos is a gem of a restaurant with consistently great service and unbeatable food. Their Menudo is hands down the best I've ever tasted, and I highly recommend trying it. But don't stop there! Everything else on their menu is equally impressive. From tacos to seafood dishes, each item is bursting with flavor and made with care. You won't be disappointed with anything you order. This place is definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates delicious Mexican food and great service.

Delicious tacos, aguas frescas, and salsa bar. I like how they give you grilled onions and nopales with the tacos. Burritos are big and delicious. Friendly service from the staff. Clean dining room and good ambiance.

Great good and nice team, what more do you want!. The taste is consistent every time. You can't go wrong with its place. The tacos are regular size taco not that tiny one bite size other places sell.

"The pozole I had was the 'Bomb!' Had pata too, may I add. Didn't seem to be an extra charge either. All condiments repollo, lotsa lime, crispy tortillas (like for tostadas), onions, and jalapenos! The onion may have been for my Mama's menudo which she also ordered with pata. Oregano and dried red chili with large corn tortillas came with it. One size, but large portions! As a side note my pozole had lotsa carne, bien delicioso! I would recommend the pozole and Mama who's picky about her menudo gives them a . We had enough to take home for a late night snack-a-too! One other draw back ... they don't serve coffee. As far as the ambiance goes, clean but the music was a bit loud. Whole bunch of gente doing take out and eating in. No pictures because I didn't take my phone with me. "Happy eating in Corona!"

The staff is so very sweet, generous ( Free Guacamole guys. What resteraunt will ever you Free Gaucamole?) they care for all of their customers individually. Food is paid special attention to while in process and in Preparation.

Fire! I got the torta de asada, it was perfect! The cook offered me a plate of cebollitas, nopales and chiles toriados! We got there minutes before the dinner rush, plenty of tables and chairs with funny Spanish sayings on the walls.
