Corona has it going on for unique takes on tacos, and El Rey is worth seeking out. In a recessed mini plaza off 6th Street in the old town, my recommendation is to go before the lunch rush. I dined in both times I visited, and the quality of the food and sides is amazing. Grilled cactus and onions, salsa choices ranging from medium to quite hot, and a wide range of side veggies. On our way to Joshua Tree, we stopped here for a quick bite. There were many meats that I was unfamiliar with and so of course, I wanted to try them but most of it was pork. Una lastima para mi. The lengua was my favourite. Everyone was really happy with their orders. Though note that the bean and cheese burrito has a LOT of cheese - it's very heavy both in weight and will make you feel like your arteries are shutting down. Don't forget to order the nopales!

El Rey Tacos Y Mariscos is a gem of a restaurant with consistently great service and unbeatable food. Their Menudo is hands down the best I've ever tasted, and I highly recommend trying it.
