“Tammy was our server last time we visited and AJ served us this time; both were wonderfully efficient and served us in a timely manner. The food was so delicious. We had chicken fried steak, red potatoes, eggs, and biscuit; portions were good. I was here one time before and it was the same quality I expected of Huckleberry's.“
“Had the pleasure of attending a Black Excellence function in San Luis Obispo at which Papa Jay's catered. I am not a huge fan of smoked bbq( which is everywhere now). Papa Jays is not that. Every item they made was beyond delicious: ribs, chicken, hot links, creole rice, Mac n cheese, beans. The owners were friendly, accommodating and treated us like family. Wish I lived closer to frequent their place. Locals please support!“
“Love eating here. Been a few times and every time it is great. A hole in the wall type place with great southern food. The beef ribs are my go too and are a gem since they are hard to find in the area. The folks here are always super friendly and happy. This is a small family restaurant so it comes with a lot of charm and passion, but can be rough around the edges to some. The inky complaint is that the tri tip plate doesn't include a lot of meat in comparison to the other plates. Definitely will return.“
