The food was very good. Service was spotty (a little slow) and the music was really loud and didn't match the vibe of the restaurant. Tables were super close together as well.

Our favorite brunch spot on Main St, quality and preparation of food is outstanding. We try and stop by once a week for lattes and banana bread which are amazing too!

My partner and I have come to Papille Gustative a number of times the past 2 years. We’ve noticed there’s been a bit of a decline in level of service, and today we were really disappointed with our experience. For starters, I’ve noticed that my order of the brunch plate has been missing the other, shaved cheese, that it normally comes with the past 2 times I’ve ordered it. Not a huge deal, but definitely disappointing as it happening twice seems to show them cutting corners…Now onto our experience overall. My partner ordered the filet mignon and eggs. Our server forgot to put our order in. No problem, we’re not in a rush. We ordered 2 glasses of champagne while we waited which they comped.Once our food did arrive, the orange juice I ordered with my food didn’t arrive, the eggs my partner ordered were sunny side up but came scrambled, and the steak he ordered (medium rare) was inedible. It was completely rare. He was about half way done and brought this to our server’s attention. He apologized for the eggs and offered to bring out new eggs but then proceeded to argue with us that the steak looked medium rare to him and that he wasn’t going to argue with us…after flipping the steak upside down, it was clear that there was almost no browning on the bottoms. We asked for the steak to be replaced, which he did. But the pushback just made things really uncomfortable.Lastly, immediately as soon as I arrived back to the table from the restroom while my partner paid, the host had approached our table to tell us there are upcoming reservations. Which would be otherwise fine, but our overstay was not by choice. When we brought our mishaps to the host’s attention because at that point we were pretty fed up. She said she was sorry but that it’s Sunday and (in other words) it’s kind of to be expected, and asked us if we had pictures of the food. Frankly, I understand the accessibility but it’s a steak, not a car accident. We weren’t asking for the meal to be comped. We were just disappointed and wished unhappy customers could be met with the will to make things right.

The food was delicious. Very fresh and flavorful and large portions. Our server was there when we needed him and not there when we didn't. Looking forward to going back and trying some other dishes on the menu!

Above and beyond my expectations. It was all in the details. Beautiful atmosphere that felt local and quaint. Service was friendly and cared deeply about their customers. Food was extremely fresh, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. We'll be back over and over again.Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options. The gluten free waffle and banana bread were worth the trip!

Absolutely loved our recent experience here on Valentine's Day! They had live jazz and a special menu. We decided to order a la carte from the regular menu and share some of our favorite items. We've been here before and love this restaurant. We always love the bread and butter and the dates with blue cheese. These are so good! We had a salad after and it was so fresh, and had this really nice zesty, lemon dressing. We shared a pasta next, that had tomato sauce and pesto and a soft Italian cheese. It was incredible! We also had the Filet Mignon, cooked medium rare. It was delicious. We didn't have room for dessert but the owner insisted and put something together for us to take home. We ended up eating the desserts the next day. There was a chocolate cake and a chocolate mouse. Both were very rich and we loved them. We will definitely go back here again. We've had some really great experiences so far. I'm sorry that I haven't taken the time to leave a review until now. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant if you haven't been. So good!

This is a new favorite spot of ours on Main St. in Santa Monica. Super pleasant ambience, and tasty food with quality ingredients. Have had the chance to see some live music there too, and it just enhances the experience

Stumbled across this place and the atmosphere was so warm and cozy we stayed and enjoyed a few courses. Service was very friendly and the food was all so fresh and creatively curated. I had the butternut squash appetizer and the vegetarian fettuccine main dish and the chocolate mousse dessert. I highly recommend.Vegetarian options: At least one vegetarian option for all menu sections

My husband and I came for Friday jazz and sat on the patio. We were planning to just get a charcuterie board and lattes (dry January) but decided to try the pasta. Our server, I think his name was Jon, was the nicest and most welcoming guy. He was so bubbly and warm, we really enjoyed talking to him. The ambiance was lovely (aside from the passing cars) and the jazz made for a great setting. The food, however, was really bland and oily. We got the olio pasta and the risotto, a side of bread and butter, and the butternut squash soup. One obviously expects oil with an olio pasta, but it was drenched in oil and had no other perceivable taste aside from that. Same goes for the risotto, which was bathed in some kind of yolk-like sauce (this is vegan, so I'm unsure what it was) and truly tasted like nothing. We asked for salt and pepper and doused both dishes. The soup was decent, though it had an overwhelming cinnamon taste. The bread was great, however it was served without butter or oil as indicated on the menu and it took at least 15 minutes for that to be brought to us after we requested it. If I had it to do again, I'd order just the charcuterie board. A neighboring table got that and it looked good. The lattes we ordered were tasty, and I enjoyed the range of options available (Hawaiian lavender!). Overall a cute spot and with friendly, albeit slow, service. I see a lot of reviews praising the brunch so perhaps that is the better menu to choose from. I did love the jazz and it's a cute spot.

Unbelievable brunch and the waitress gave us great service! We got the French toast and the duck prosciutto Benedict. Both melted in my mouth. Worth leaving the house on a very rainy day in LA
