Mitch, thank you for describing how you bring out the taste of the earth the grapes are trying to express. I loved Dragon’s Back, and will have to add that to my wish list for when we come back. I know that I will enjoy your wine club I joined.

We had the most delightful visit at Black Knight's tasting room in Petaluma on Valentines Day yesterday. When we arrived, we were greeted right away and shown to our table in their outdoor tasting space (due to COVID). Lexie came over immediately and poured her Pinot Noir bubbles -- delicious! Then she slowly worked her way through the tasting menu, given us pours of some of her wine not on the tasting menu, as I told her how much I was enjoying her Chardonnays. She spent ample time talking about the winery's history, how she got bit by the wine bug, the terroir where the grapes are grown, as well as asking questions about our pinot noir grapes and efforts. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end! We will definitely go back!

Great Malbec. Nice curbside seating too.

This place is beyond lovely. Incredibly well decorated interior but because of Covid we had to do the tasting outside. Still it was a super cool experience, sitting literally on Petaluma Blvd sipping awesome wine from the top of a wine barrel with our Great Pirennese puppy.

Black Knight is our favorite vineyard. Mitch (father and co-owner) took us in last year on a gloomy, freezing weekend as we drove around trying to find open wineries because wine tasters weren't really going out. He opened all the good stuff for us in what ended up being a private barn tasting on their property at the vineyard. We joined their club on the spot and have been the happiest members since. Mitch and Lexine (daughter and co-owner) run this vineyard like you wouldn't believe. Communication and social media presence is amazing. Just this weekend we joined their new tasting room in Petaluma and enjoyed ALL our favorites and then some. Mitch and Lexi are the most dedicated, skilled, humble, intelligent, outgoing, kind, and ethical winemakers we have ever met. Even if you don't like Chardonnays (like me for instance), they have five or six vintages of Chardonnay and none of them are displeasing. In fact, I've found two of their Chards to be downright amazing. They specialize in Pinots and Bordeaux blends as well, all of which will knock your socks clean off. I've converted Pinot haters with their Pinots, specifically the Dragon Back and Destrier. I'll put this simply for those of you still reading this long review: Don't be a fool and skip Black Knight Vineyards on your next jaunt through Santa Rosa and Petaluma.

omg, some astonishing wines they have. They also deliver, that way I don't have to rely on the disgusting overpriced liquor stores in the future!

Amazing experience with an amazing family: here's to Deanne, Mitch, and Lexine for the fabulous day in their outstanding vineyards! Seeing the unique terroir (love Dragon's Back!) and all the incredible soils in their vineyards which span 3 AVAs was a cool experience! With fragrant camomile underfoot among the rows of vines, you could smell the aromas that come through in the beautiful wines they (and others who use their grapes) create. These guys have such a love for their beautiful vineyards and it shows! You can feel the warmth and genuineness in their voices when they talk about their wines and their vines. This family is the real deal! We loved talking to Deanne about how she hand-pruned an acre+ of their beautiful vineyard, and to Mitch about his outstanding bubbles! Lexine gave us a little history of gamay (their inaugural year of exceptional gamay noir wine) and talked about her love for the science of the wines. It was a totally informative day of education and relaxation in a beautiful setting. Totally enjoyed our time here and look forward to spending more time here again soon! Here's to Black Knight Vineyards!

These wines are Devine! I sampled their wines at the Corks and Forks in Palmetto Florida and found a few gems from Black Night Vineyards! The Pinot Noirs are simple delish!

Had the fortunate opportunity to meet the Vineyard Owner (DeAnne Black) at her Tasting Room in the Sonoma Square. Very welcoming and knowledgeable. She poured me a glass of her En Passant Pinot Noir. Highly recommend. Thank You DeAnne!!
