“George (the owner) and his staff were incredibly hospitable and source food consciously. The baba ghanoush and falafel were INCREDIBLE, even by comparison to dishes I've had while travelling in the middle east. Highly recommend to anyone visiting San Diego! Well worth the drive from down town (better quality, better price). Bonus for LOTS of vegetarian and vegan options.“
“I went in during a dinner rush during the week apparently. Marisela and Paul were pushing out the orders in a timely manner and they were very attentive to everyone waiting plus those dinning in. The food was amazing, always is! I love this “
“Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.“
“My experience at Luna grill was really amazing , we had such delicious food I had never had before and management was above and beyond when the staff was busy they came to make sure we had everything we needed 10 out of 10 experience . For sure would go again !“
“Super good Afghan food. We order the bolani, aushak, and lamb kebob. The kebob is super juicy tender and not dry like chain Mediterranean places do. I also love the yogurt and chive dilling sauces that come with all the dishes. This place is a hidden gem. The dishes are large portions so we always have leftovers for multiple meals.Dietary restrictions: This place is halalParking: Large parking lot shared with other businesses in same plaza“
“Great vibe here ! Staff was nice and very helpful. Food was amazing and the manager Christian really made me feel welcomed. He guided me through the menu and suggested his favorites. My kids left a bit of a mess…,as I was cleaning up they came to tell me they’d take care of it!! Really made me feel like a guest. Thank you guys ! Will be coming back soon.“
“I am so happy I found a middle eastern restaurant so close to home! This spot is a hidden gem. They have dishes that are each uniquely seasoned and plated. I’ve been a personal fan of their spicy baba ganoush which they really had a good kick to so it’s actually spicy and it is served with tasty pita, the first batch was bit crispier than I prefer but second round was pillow soft and warm! So far I have tried their betyi which is essentially your choice of meat wrapped in lavash bread and cut into bite sized pieces topped with a delicious tomato sauce and served with yogurt. I got one with lamb one day and the other day sirloin. Both equally delicious! I also have to give them the award for best lentil soup in town! Man that soup is hearty and soooo flavorful! My aunt also gave them the award for best falafels! Typically you get falafel and it’s like a hockey puck! But not here, they’re soft and delish! Also they have one hell of a baklava and serve it sandwiched with ice cream! I failed to snap a pic because that thing lasted 0.3 seconds at our table before it was devoured. Definitely coming here whenever I crave middle eastern food.“
“This place is excellent. The restaurant is very clean, food is quality with large quantities and very tasty . I had never had such a great Hamburger for a long time. The staff and the owner are very respectful and polite. I want to say thank you for such a great food.“
“My friend, who is a native Iraqi, took me to Happy Time and I was blown away by the authenticity and deliciousness of the food. We ordered a sampler of things and the kanaf at the end was simply mouth-watering. Five stars for the food, service and friendliness!“
“Abbey, our attendant was friendly and greeted is with a smile...good customer service! Brought our food to the table quickly...thank you kitchen staff. Abbey followed up to see if our food was good and if we needed anything. Food is healthy and filling. Yum! Thank you Rancho San Diego staff!“
“Best Gyro's. Stuffed with lots of meat, diced veggies. A little of everything with every bite. Very, very fresh.Always feel welcomed with every visit. If there are any slight issues with anything, they go the extra mile to make it just right. This place is Awesome and of course, so is the food. Also LOVE, LOVE the beet salads!“
“The Mediterranean platter is my favorite! They have a huge wine selection! We got reservations for 5 on a Wednesday night and we needed it, the place is always packed. All of the food is really flavorful and fresh!Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and my son loved the pita cheese pizza!“
“Best food in town!!!! The ambiance is the best brunch feeling while the food is so diverse and covers all types of foods. The waffles are amazing and the breakfast menu is very good. The kufta and eggs are tasty. The stuffed breads and menemen sausage is wow. The bread freshly made in front of you is wow also. They also have a healthy menu too for those who want that. Mimosas are so good.“
“The food was absolutely stellar. The flavors were all there and I honestly will be coming back frequently. The service was great. The gentleman working the entire restaurant was super friendly, and him doing so much alone didn't compromise a single thing. I'm telling you, this is the spot for when you're craving some Mediterranean.“
“Genuine family business with tasty and authentic cuisine. Me and my partner keep coming back for the lentil soup even though we are not living in SD anymore! Much love from AZ & Germany!!Vegetarian options: Lentil soup is a 10A lot of vegetarian dishesParking: More than enough parking space, dhared parking for multiple businesses“
“Great place for food. So delicious! It was our first time there and we ordered two different dishes that were both so good and the person that works there offered to make us something different if we didn't like it. We definitely thought that was above and “
“I’m obsessed with this place. It’s family owned and they’ve been around for a while. I’ve been coming here since before the pandemic. The food is top notch and they give great portions. I typically get the gyro plate & hummus. The man who takes the orders is always so friendly and sweet. It’s an all around great establishment!“
“Adorable spot tucked into a small part of lot.Owner came out and helped us with the menu; hand delivered folks’ food even with a pick up window; and owner even tossed in a small side of fries for the pup.Hidden walkable gem in north park/city heights cusp. Owner clearly loves what he does and cares for his customers; genuine smile the whole time we were there.Service: efficientFood: outstandingVibe: chillOwner: legendHotel: trivago“
“I never write reviews…even when I really really disliked a place…but I’m literally writing this right after I ate here. First of all, I think the lady that helped me order was named Alexandera…well give her a raise…I haven’t had a better customer service experience in such a long time! And that’s on top of how good the food was! I had the Chx Cream Chop Wrap…and wow! So good!!! And when you add that red sauce that it came with…seriously…mind blown! Not only will I come back…I will tell everyone I know about this place!“
“The Mediterranean food here is excellent and all the dishes I've tried are fresh, well made and flavorful. My favorite dish so far is the chicken kabob plate. The grilled chicken is tender and savory. I also love the lentil soup they serve when you dine in.“
“We love this local, quaint restaurant! It’s quiet with excellent food and incredible service. Our favorite foods are the short rib taco appetizer, Waygu & truffle ravioli appetizer, and the duck confit. The oysters are good too!Highly recommend Oyster & Pearl for a quiet date night or special dinner out.“
“I last visited this restaurant before COVID epidemic. The owner remembered me. The grilled salmon was just the way I like it, crisp on outside, moist interior! I also had it with banana. The fish curry was very tasty too! This is a nice little unpretentious with very good food. I will return again!“
“Tasty. Very helpful staff and great service.Best Mediterranean food in San Diego. Specially their rice and kabob.I hope they will be able to expand as it gets too busy around dinner and Ramadan iftar. It’s perfect for takeout as well. Specially their family meals which are very well priced.Vegetarian options: Falafel, many large salads and vegetarian appetizers, Foul mdames, fattah, hummus, lentil soup, mutabal , vegetable stews, friesDietary restrictions: Halal with some vegetarian options“
“Just had a great meal delivered via DoorDash. I ordered the kabob combo - beef and chicken. The beef was super tender. Generous portion. Loved the flavor of the tzatziki. Really enjoyed it. Definitely the best DoorDash I've had. Travelled well! Probably even more delicious in person. Will absolutely be ordering from them again.“
“Wondered in after reading the sign outside advertising a special. Somalian food I had not ever experienced. I was offered a delicious hot black tea with milk and sugar. I ordered the salmon with rice, and salad. It was SO DELICIOUS. Clove and bay leaf slow cooked rice. The fish lightly crisp on the outside, buttery and cooked to perfection within. Kind courteous Somalian people and culture. I look forward to sharing more, and trying other dishes. Ancient good food.“
“Ive never had Mediterranean food and let me tell you the people there showed me what to get and greeted me with open arms even let me try a little sample meat before ordering since I’ve never had lamb before and let me tell you I will forsure be coming back ! Must try they SD wrap !! S/O Bernie !“
“A great little spot for good, affordable Greek food for lunch or To Go anytime. Portions are generous. The side salad is simple, but crispy cold 'n fresh with a nice, light creamy dressing. The avgolemono chicken 'n rice soup is comforting and delicious. I also ordered a steak kabob plate and he actually asked me how I like my steak cooked. How great is that?! I took it To Go and found it was perfectly medium rare as I ordered it, (of course). Nice sear on the outside and marinated tender on the inside. Gluten-free options available. Tired of chain fast food? Hungry for something good? Come here. ??Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten-free options if you specify "no pita bread please".“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Mystic Grill in La Mesa, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience. This hidden gem offers some of the most delightful Mediterranean cuisine in San Diego. The standout dish for me was undoubtedly their hummus. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, it's no exaggeration to say that Mystic Grill serves up the best hummus in San Diego. Paired with warm, freshly baked pita bread, it was a match made in food heaven. The menu here is a treasure trove of Mediterranean delights. From the succulent kebabs to the aromatic shawarma, every dish was a burst of authentic flavor. The quality of ingredients and the skilled preparation really shine through in every bite. What's even more impressive is the pricing. Despite the exceptional quality of the food, the prices at Mystic Grill are incredibly reasonable, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place for a date night or a gathering with friends. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. In a city known for its diverse food scene, the Mystic Grill stands out as a hidden gem offering amazing Mediterranean cuisine, particularly their legendary hummus. If you're looking for a taste of the Mediterranean that won't break the bank, this place should be at the top of your list. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their delectable dishes – you won't be disappointed!“
“We have ordered several times for delivery. Everything we have tried has been great. However every time we order the side salad that comes with entrees is never included. It is so frustrating. They always credit us money for the oversight but it doesn’t satisfy the palate when you wants some greens to complement your entree.“
“The gentleman that served my meal was very kind. He even showed care in details that I’m not used to being asked: “1 or 2 cups of ketchup?” “Would you like ice in your drink?” I don’t know of any other place that takes the time to show they care and ask the details. He was very kind and respectful and the food was good!“
“This is a small family owned greek sopt, hidden treasure in grossmont food court**Their suppliers compete for quality**They deserve a 5 star reaturant in la Mesa tbh;I really think they should start a go fund me, I'd love to contribute to their goals!!“
“I was in El Cajon for a work trip & staying at a hotel nearby. I found Sultan on maps, saw the reviews, & opted to try it. & oh my god. I'm sitting in my hotel room alone giddy with joy eating this baklava. It is so, so good. The man that helped me answered all my questions & steered me towards great choices! I can't recommend enough!!!“
“"Ok, Google, find a Mediterranean restaurant near me that's open for lunch." I was not led astray when I was directed to Alfinjan. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and initially asked for rice instead of fries, but was told I should try the fries because they "cook them differently...you know, to stand out." And stand out they do...crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I don't know what the secret is, but trust these fries. But really, who even cares about sides when the shawarma is so perfectly cooked. Moist, juicy, with that slight crispness... It shared space with lettuce pickles and the most delicious creamy garlic sauce... With I think just a hint of tahini. You know how sometimes tahini can be too sesame forward or salty? This was not, it was truly heavenly. I wish I had snapped a photo, but I was too busy enjoying the food. Highly recommended for both food and friendly, helpful service. I will be back soon.“
“Late dinner, not real busy was nice, not loud, food was really good we really enjoyed it. Nice people, friendly.. food was warm and tasty. The hibiscus water was delicious and homemade, not too sweet. I'm definitely coming back.Parking: The lot is shared with 7-11. Wasn't busy when we went, but it may be busy depending on times and days.“
“Really fulfilling food ranging from delicious and fruitful salads, to wraps, and gyros. The portions are shareable and the service was great. There was one person working the entire store, so it did take a little bit of time for the food to come out, but no problem there. The man was super helpful with suggestions. We chose the 2 protein plate, a gyro, and the strawberry salad. Everything was really hefty and not skimpy, and full of so much flavor. Will definitely be coming back.Vegetarian options: SaladsParking: Lots of parkingWheelchair accessibility: No stairs“

“I love this place. They are always pleasant and greet you when you walk in. Food is amazing every time. Even for a small business they seem passionate about what they do. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to taste authentic East African cuisine.“
“I was recommended this place because I heard it great things. I got the combination plate which contained chicken and beef kabob with rice. Food tasted great but not how everyone made it seem. Would I come back here? Yes I would. Price was not bad and service was great. Restaurant was clean and not dirty. Only thing was there was only 1 waiter working the whole restaurant so If we needed something it took a little longer than usual. Other than that great overall experience“

“Being vegetarian for most of my life, I've tried many different Greek restaurants. Greek Corner Cafe (in Carmel Mountain) is AMAZING. My first time here & I tried the vegetarian combo plate ---> Everything, I mean everything on this plate was DELICIOUS! I can write in detail per item why, but you have to try this place for yourself. The service was awesome. Both servers, he & she, were friendly & had a very kind, gentle demeanor. I like that! The cook also came to see how I was enjoying my food & he too had the same disposition. Such sweet people. The ambience, I can appreciate. I've never been to Greece but they had Greek decor, a Greece mural, & played Greek music.Overall my fav Greek restaurant to-date! And the best Greek restaurant I'd say, in San Diego. A must-try! ... I'll be back.“
“We came on a Wednesday afternoon around 6:30pm. They were not too busy but had customers eating inside and also outside. There are plenty of large tables inside and also a large area outside right next to the restaurant. Very family friendly location. They are in a large shopping center with a huge parking lot where there's a Best Buy on one end and a Starbucks on the other. We ordered the small family pack that states it serves 4. It was way more food! I think it could feed even up to 8 people! (Ok, maybe 6 depending on how much you eat). But it was definitely way more than just for 4 people. Very generous portions! The beef was amazingly good; seasoned just right (not salty), moist and juicy! The saffron rice was also super moist and juicy! The salad was super fresh. Not a single leaf that looked bad. Very delicious. And their sauce: the jalapeño and cilantro sauce (green one) is so good! Very spicy and does not taste like cilantro at all which I like since I hate cilantro. So if you are a non-cilantro eater like me but like spicy sauce, try their green sauce. It is good. It felt spicier than their red sauce. All four sauces are a must have to complete the meal. **Update on the green sauce a couple days later: it does taste like cilantro more than it did when I first tried it. But the spiciness still wins over the flavor and is good! If you are getting the plates or the other smaller orders, they do have a sauce station in the store. Make sure to grab the sauce! The staff were very kind and worked really fast. They packed the food with care and you can actually see them prepare the food as they have a glass window towards the kitchen. A place you can trust the food will be great quality.“
