“When we sat down outside, with the blue hour sun hanging low across the city, the tray of gluttony and sugars sat so perfectly on our tray. Then a group of Patagonia-clad men stumbled in saying “with OpenAI” and I was reminded that we’re in San Francisco. The crookie was good, albeit not crispy. While the coffee vanilla mousse looked amazing on the outside, it was a tad too sweet. However, the highlight for me was the Imperial; paired with an iced cold brew, the decadent layers filled with a crumbly bottom and a sweet white filling inside was my favourite.Pretty good!“

“Wonderful service. They accommodated our custom requests that were placed shortly before the delivery date was due.The cake itself was delicious and a hit amongst everyone. The fact that the cake was not too sweet was the icing on the cake, so to speak.“

“Excellent service only to be matched by the impeccably prepared food. We sat at the Chef's Bar and watched the artists at work. It was impressive to see the seamless choreography of the chefs and servers in action. Wine was delicious, as were our martinis.“

“Thank you Butter& team for making our wonderful wedding cake for our intimate SF city hall wedding. After the taste box, we decided for the Tonga Vanilla Bean flavor and our guests were pleasantly suprised on how unique the cakes are made here!“

“I can't fault this place. Not overly prices, friendly staff, DELICIOUS FOOD, good coffee and a nice vibe all round. You could sit in or take away; you can order for pick up or browse all the pastries upon arrival. Really liked it. Expect a queue on busy mornings, but they seem prepared for it with a lot of staff and clear signs of where to queue“

“Best bread in the city. Best baguette in the city. Their pizza dough to take home is delicious. Would recommend their hot sandwiches or warm breakfast treats. Their cookie logs are also phenomenal! Everyone is so kind and they allow dogs to come in and eat in their back patio! $3.50 for a baguette in April 2024 ❤️?“

“This is a really nice patisserie in the Marina district where you can enjoy one of the most crunchy, flaky, buttery croissants in the City. Their chocolate croissants are also filled with melted chocolate and are scrumptious in the early morning. The pear tart is delicious, not too sweet, and freshly made.Nice job . Keep it up!“
“If there is one positive thing came from the pandemic, it is Philippe Delarue’s ingenious idea to open up a bake shop here in front of his flat. It’s one of my favorite places to invite friends on Saturday or Sunday morning. You can’t go wrong with any of his goods, but my personal favorite is the bread pudding. Delarue will generously add his “adults only” whiskey sauce upon ordering. He is too humble to bring up the story himself, but ask him about his journey here – including stints in Le Mans, Paris, London, and Montreal. I can’t locate the article anymore but I think he once had the honor of baking for the queen! ☺️“

“My sweet tooth has led me to visit many bakeries all over, so when I moved here, finding my go to bakery was top of my list. This place is the real deal. Proper cream cheese frosting (not too sweet with a pleasant tang) tops some of their most decadent goods. The pastries feel familiar, but are uniquely delicious. So far I've tried the guava danish, croissant, bread pudding, banana muffin, sweet potato pie and the cinnamon roll. Each item has been outstanding.“

“This place is a must when visiting San Fran. I do my research before going on a trip and this place was recommended by a few people. I know that you often hear more about the Golden Gate Bakery but there was a long line and I was not going to wait to try their egg tart. I'm glad I didn't sit in that line. We grabbed a few items to go and of course we tried their egg tart. It was warm and crispy. We also order some gelatin looking pastries, matcha cake, and sweet bread. Everything was great.“

“Delicate and delicious pastries! The flavors are fun and the execution is flawless. The Burnt Honey Pie was the highlight, but we loved the wife's cake too. There was no line and the owner was very nice. Can't wait to go back and try the pineapple cake and more!“

“These are pricy (but very good) donuts with unique flavors; sometimes the combinations work, while other times it's more of a miss. The online portal is more effective at giving you options if you have dietary restrictions, but staff is knowledgeable and efficient. The store is colorful, and the donuts really are unique - you're not going to find the generic ones here.“
“A great place that doesn't really need another 5-star review. I visited both locations and was impressed with both, I met the owner at the Hahdough Kitchen on Laguna, she waited on me personally. At Laguna you transact your business via a storefront window. Fell street is set up like a regular bakery where you go in and select from items in a glass case. Wife sampled both the Black Forest and Gentleman's cake, opted for the latter. I was more for the Black Forest myself. I also tried the Berliner and Cinnamon pastry because I deserved a reward for my efforts. All were great. One heads-up: they close at 3p which is a rude realization when they call you at 2:40pm while you are en route via Muni and 40 minutes away, the day before wife's birthday. A quick disembarkation and Lyft ride later, all good.“

“Such a cute little dessert shop in outer sunset. I got the mango bento cake for a friends birthday and it was so pretty. I liked the tiramisu and hazelnut praline cake, light and not overly sweet. And they so many other cute desserts. Make sure to check it out!“

“This is my go to place for birthday cakes and special occasions. I have been a loyal customer for 18-19 years. You can't go wrong with the fruit tart, carrot cake , princess cake and strawberry layer cake with a layer of panna cotta. Ambrosia has kept up as my children's taste in cakes and pastries matured.“

“Cool spot on Saturday morning, I come before I play soccer in the park up the block at 2pm. I get the warm quinoa bowl with fresh fruit ! Bomb I can’t eat gluten so it’s slim pickings for me. There only two small outdoor tables so gotta get there early if you want to sit outside, the tables are community style and kinda tight small spaceDietary restrictions: Not many gluten free optionsParking: Tough to park with the bike lane“

“I thought I was in Noe Valley once I stepped in this bakery and looked at the Milky Way Bomb which lives by its name that it is bomb and that's out of sight. I normally go to the location on 24th street in Noe Valley. This location in West Portal is more spacious than the one in Noe Valley. The service was friendly. The Quiche Lorraine was delicious. Tasty treats !“

“During my most recent visit, the location was clean but messy. Staff were friendly but obviously stressed and losing patience. I witnessed the staff handling the drinks literally running to the back to make some drinks, then run back to the front to help take a few orders, before running back to the back to complete the previous drinks and start new drinks. We went during the morning rush and it looked like there was only 3 staff to cover everything, including baking \ restocking baked goods, taking orders, and making drinks. The self order kiosk for drinks was also out of service that day.“

“If you're in the mood for a decent tasting croissant or french-style pastry or sandwich, and you're near FiDi, SoMa, or the Embarcadero, this spot has fairly solid offerings. I was in the area and turned back after passing the window when I saw their croissants on display. Picked up a plain croissant and pineapple custard/brulee croissant pastry to try. Both had the right amount of crispiness/flakiness and airiness to their bite. The pineapple custard was tasty with a nice char on top to bring out the caramelized sugar and pineapple flavor. Croissants and pastries run about $5 to $7. They also seem to have sandwiches ranging from $9 (for their breakfast sammie) to about $16 for more filling and savory choices. They also have a few tables inside to seat about 8 people, within their narrow store that has entrances from both Market St and the other end of the store on Sutter St.“

“I contacted Revelry Cakes to order a custom birthday cake for my fiancé, but unfortunately they were unavailable on the date I wanted. Even so, the owner (or whoever runs the communications) responded back to me with several other bakeries that might have been free to help with my order. I found that really kind and above-and-beyond with professionalism, so I just wanted to give them a great review for what they did. Thank you guys!“
