The sugar and cinnamon is divine as is the key lime pie. Light and moist, the donuts are slightly crisp on the outside side with a perfect cake-like center. However, they had a lot of inventory (sweet and savory). “Danish and Donuts (previously Danish and Donut) is a no-frills cash-only donut shop, like the hole in the walls you'd find in downtown San Francisco, except on Hwy 12 in Sonoma. I've only been here on weekend mornings, so I can't speak for donut quality or freshness outside of these peak days/hours. But the donuts I've had from here are my favorite in all of wine country. Sometimes they do sell out of a lot of options, so I suggest arriving before 10am. Don't worry if they sell out of your favorite, just try something new! That's how I discovered two of my new favorites, the glazed buttermilk bar and the cinnamon twist. I like that the donuts are not too sweet. I also am obsessed with the self-serve coffee station. It's not fancy coffee, it's simple donut shop coffee. It pairs perfectly with the donuts. I would avoid the pastries (non-donuts) as I think they are made from frozen and not made in house. About the service: this is a no-frills place. I know that doesn't make it ok to be rude. I personally don't feel anyone has been rude to me here. If lack of smiling and asking how you're doing today will bother you in donut shop customer service, this might not be the place for you. I am ok with that kind of service in this scenario. It's donuts. How many questions are there really? Just point to what you want and done. If you need someone to explain all the donuts to you, for instance, I'd suggest somewhere different. And if you come in often enough, eventually you might get a smile :)“
“This is a very cute little donut shop. There are no places to sit inside, but there is space outside to hangout. There is a display outside that shows a few kind of the donuts which is so enticing. There was not a long wait and when you step inside there is a much longer menu on the wall, which gave me no time to contemplate on what I wanted. Eventually we got the raspberry sauce donuts. My toddler is into sprinkles and but I don't like sprinkles so we ended up getting her a bigger one donut. It was a gluten free donut and was $4. The dozen mini donuts were $8 and seemed like a much better deal and was so fun to eat. After you order, you can see the little mini donuts being friend behind the clear plexiglass. It was so fun for my toddler to watch. We also ordered a rose latte and a lavender latte.The donuts were so good!!! They were not like cake donuts or raised donuts, but they were light and flavorful. The lattes were bitter, which went well with the donuts. We forgot that lattes had coffee (not coffee drinkers), and I just thought they were flavored milks (too use to boba places), so two cups of lattes was too much coffee for us. Overall, this place was enjoyable and a nice find!“
