Loved the food! Tasteful texture of katsu. Shrimps were very fresh and bouncy. Probably it must have been a while after delivery but still fried rice hasn’t become sticky and smelled nice. Their sauce was top notch level. Amazing.

This place is absolutely the best. We now have two Hawaiian bbq restaurants in the same small area. This one has the hometown feel. It's the one that is family owned and worked! They don't have fancy leis but they have a huge menu, and really good food! If you want the hometown feel.. and yummy delicious food.. come try the best Hawaiian bbq in South Pasadena!

Ordered takeout, so I can't speak to service or ambience. But the House Super Combo (chicken, ribs, and 2 eggs) was generously sized, well-cooked, and delicious. I ordered the eggs over medium, which is always a good litmus test for a kitchen, and they got the yolk absolutely perfect. Wish they had a broader drink selection online (they don't seem to carry canned sodas or juices, like the Hawaiian Sun brand) but overall a very good casual spot hidden away in South Pas.

Exactly like the family-owned plate-lunch spots we love on Maui. The flavors here are typical of these kinds of places -- a little salty but flavorful and tasty. The portions are generous and the food is fresh! The gentleman who runs the place is sweet, and he packages the food with care. Almost all of the containers are recyclable, too, which is nice. Easy parking in the mini-mall lot, and easy access from the 110.

I will totally order from these folks again. Good loco moco, chicken Katsu, spam musubi. Not fancy, not health food, just exactly the way it's supposed to be. I wish they would put their mac salad in separate containers for a "keep the cold side cold" situation but, y'know, that would be kinda fancy.

The food here is SO GOOD!! It's a little different than L&L as it should be, because it's not the same company. I feel like this spot has more flavor than L&L. I remember it first opened up around 2004-2005 while I was in culinary school and I continue to come here to this day. Bbq beef and bbq chicken is my go to plates here. But they have a good sized menu if you want to get something more. If it's a hot day, feel free to drop by and get a smoothie also.

I accidentally ordered online at this restaurant thinking it was a Hawaiian BBQ down the street from me in Monterey Park - my fault since I didn't check the location. My husband had to drive to Pasadena to pick up our food and when he brought it back it was warm since it sat for over an hour with the drive to/from. We ordered the 2 combo plate (chicken katsu and short ribs) and spicy beef plate. My husband ordered the spicy beef plate and said it was okay - not spicy unless you happen to eat one of the tiny chili flakes in your bite. I shared the 2 combo plate with my mom. The chicken katsu pieces were really small and almost bite-sized/mini. My mom ate the short ribs and said it was okay.Overall, taste quality was just average and portion size was smaller than what you usually get from other Hawaiian food places. Sad to say I won't be back - but that's mainly because I live way too far to drive out to order this as takeout to bring back home.

My favorite Hawaiian dish is the Loco Moco so when I found it they serve it here then I had to try it. The meal comes with two meat patties over chopped cabbage, gravy, two fried eggs, sticky rice, and macaroni salad. The food was delicious as everything had good flavor and seasoning. The only thing I would change is that the patties would be over the bed of rice and not the cabbage.
