Katsu Jin has the best katsu outside of Japan. The tenderloin katsu is made with a think cut of pork and fried to perfection. I try to get here once a month even though it is 45 minutes from my house. The gyoza are also fantastic! Can't recommend this place enough.

Been a couple of times and always had a great experience with quick food prep and good service. Attentive and attractive staff with quick response. Order via QR code on the table. Tonkatsu and black garlic ramen both great flavors, I slightly prefer tonkatsu since I enjoy the simple and rich pork broth. The garlic changes the color and adds garlic flavor, which I found to become the top flavor over the pork broth. Both were great ramen with a rich broth, nice texture on noodles, plating looks nice. I can eat it in its entirety and maybe have an appetizer so I'd want a 20% larger portion size. Pork loin Katsu was delicious. You get to make own sauce by grinding sesame and then adding Katsu sauce. This is a nice pairing, and also gives the table something to do while waiting for the food. Breading and texture from frying was top notch and nice crunch without being oily. Came with miso soup, cabbage salad, some pickled veggies, and rice. If you add curry (for $3) you can refill rice bowl one time. This time we got the curry but next time I would skip it and just use the sesame Katsu sauce since it was that good. Spicy edamame looks appealing but it was more spicy flavor than garlic.

Pork was perfectly fried and very tender. We also loved the fried squid appetizer. Highly recommend this spot.

this is my new go to for a casual yet quality dining experience. the menu isn't big but it doesn't matter because their set meal is so good. i usually order between three items: Katu Pork Tenderloin (the more expensive one), Katu Cheese or Soba noodle set. You order by scanning the QR code on the table. but there's always the option to order with the staff. this place is clean and neat! and i always leave with a happy belly and a smile on my face the ONLY negative comment is they are closed on sundays :(

Small restaurant maximizing their space and potential in this strip mall location.Parking: There is a large enough lot in front of the sops, with a few additional parking spaces parked in the rear.

Super cute spot nestled in a strip mall in SoPas. Known for their katsu, Katsu Jin also serves up other authentic Japanese dishes such as ramen and takoyaki. I got the Tenzaru Soba meal which comes with a side of tempura. The tempura was light and crispy, and I loved the variety of veggies they included. I also got to try the pork loin katsu which was delicious especially with their sesame katsu sauce. The service was excellent and I will definitely be back again.

This was by far the best tonkatsu I have had in the LA and OC areas. On par or even better than restaurants in Little Tokyo, Gardena, and Torrance. Portion sizes were excellent as were the apps. Definitely coming back again.

First timer at this restaurant and we ordered take out for lunch. The pork tenderloin katsu is very tender and juicy with a crispy outer layer. Very impressive. The set comes with a miso soup, a small portion tofu, a few pickles and finely chopped cabbages. For a more healthier option, the pork loin katsu is a great alternative. The fried food is a must try at Katsu Jin. Highly recommended!

We had Katsu Jin on a relatively busy Saturday night. Wait wasn't too long and the inside of the restaurant was nice. We ordered the black garlic ramen and the katsudon as well as the soft shell crab to start. The food came out pretty quick. The soft-shell crab was delicious but small for the portion size. The black garlic ramen had an underwhelming broth and portion size as well. The katsudon was great and very tasty. Overall a good experience and we left happy but the portion sizes definitely left something to be desired.

It’s so delicious! The service is also so nice. And since you order yourself at the table from a QR code, it’s really quick too. I LOVE the cheese katsu, the pork loin, and the shrimp. I think the portions are great and really well priced! The gyoza and tempura are great appetizers and the iced oolong tea is so good. I am really glad we have this restaurant in South Pas!

Katsu...another family favorite! Katsu Jin is up against tough critics...the best we've ever had was a Kurobuta Pork Tonkatsu in Kyoto and 2nd was my mom's. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and it's a small space. When we got there it was packed so we checked in with the hostess, we received a buzzer and waited in our car since it was a cold night. The wait was only about 15 minutes, not bad. We were seated and told to scan the QR code for the menu and ordering. Unfortunately, it wasn't working. Every time we tried to order there was already something loaded which we didn't select. No worries, the waitress gave us a printed menu to review and then took our order old school. We started with the Fried Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes then the Pork Loin Tonkatsu. I must say, we enjoyed the Pork Loin Katsu at Katsu Jin with the exception that they were just not sliced thin enough. It was crispy and juicy and the DIY ground toasted sesame in the tonkatsu sauce was a nice touch. My favorite Tonkatsu sauce is Bulldog by the way. The shishitos were tasty (loved the bonito flake dance) and special side of pickles were delicious. The miso soup and cabbage were just okay. I make a Carrot/Ginger dressing from Japanese Soul Cooking that I like better. The service was attentive and we'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

cheese katsu was delicious, perfect cripsyness and crunch. cheese katsu was smaller than we thought but the katsu set comes with rice and miso soup which was filling. the katsudon was also very delicious, comes with saucy egg and pork katsu over saucy rice. this bowl felt more protein and filling than the cheese katsu but also comes with miso soup. service was amazing, super catering to you and respectful ambiance is so nice and clean area

Great looking biggest ramen place i have ever been to. Service was excellent and i love their ramen broth because its not as salty as the regular ramen broth but still as tasty!! Lots of good side dishes like karaage chicken and dumplings just to name 2. Price was very reasonable and so was the serving size

There's plenty of parking in the plaza, but the restaurant is on the smaller side so there may be a short wait. The restaurant has a family friendly feel to it. The katsu was crispy outside and moist inside - delicious! I like the set menu as well. They bring you sesame seeds to grind fresh before adding the katsu sauce. The portion is filling as well. The staff were friendly and service was quick.
