Arrived at 8:15 on a Saturday to find the doors were locked but people were inside dining. A waiter waved us off so we left. 9:00 pm must be the time they're tucked into bed. Adorable.

I will try the thicker noodle and keep you at 5 star then. Since your black ramen broth is out of this world and you sear the pork perfectly.

Solid ramen spot in South Pasadena, great, attentive, chill service on a stormof a Sunday, served food nearly after I placed my order, reasonable prices for portions given, generous on your chashu pork & kimchi for kimchi ramen, appreciate they saved me from overeating & just took the small portion of food I wasn’t able to finish. Broth & noodles were warm with good texture on the noodles. Didn’t even ask for a tip, pleasant surprise beyond the meal before I took off. Ambiance is definitely relaxed and they maintain a clean restroom if you need to use it of course. -would give business again

We have been coming here for years and when we saw the construction and renovation happening we were concerned. But we just went last night with a group of 7 and wow! It is even better. Great menu of new items not just ramen. Ramen is still wonderful but so is the sushi. Highly recommend this spot!Parking: Lots of parking in the Bristol farms lot.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. They have high chairs as well

Lovely ambience, great service, the very best ramen - rich Tokatsu or spicy miso broth, delicious sides (try the tempura beans, brussel sprouts) saki, beer.

Great ramen and dinner donburi bowls that are very tasty. Very generous portions. Their brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious. Prices were very reasonable. A hidden gem in South Pasadena across From Bristol Farms.

Very good ramen broth with well cooked and chewy noodles. Huge charsu portions, tender and flavorful. Worth a try or two
Spicy Modan is the way to go and the pork belly is always on point with the right fat to meat ratio.

Same owner and company but renamed to Kontensu? I forget. They’re expanding into the next building so service is a little slow while help is wanted. The food was FIRE. Got the tonkatsu modan bowl with chashu. HUGE servings and lots of pork unlike most ramen places. Noodles were well-made. Reminds me of the ramen in Japan; my top five ramen places! Prices are also so fair, $17 for the bowl

I found this restaurant on my way home yesterday when I couldn't find a place to park in Little Tokyo. I ordered the spicy pork bone noodle soup and it was gone in no time. The eggs inside are very tasty, there are two large pieces of pork, and the soup is also delicious. It's just too much for girls, I can't finish it all. The price is still a bit expensive, 20 dollars for a bowl after tip and tax.
