“It was absolutely delicious. My only pick is the cost of the food, but what do I expect as a visitor of Stanford. Anyways, I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, 5/5.The restaurant feels a lot like a street food place; a bit more hidden from the eyes of the public.“
“The jewel of on-campus dining. This spot looks like one of the Big Tech cafeterias from the Before Times - if you've been lucky enough to eat at the Apple, Google, or Facebook cafes, you'll see what I mean. Broad selection of cuisines, quality fresh ingredients, and quick, with a number of grab and go items. Not cheap for campus, but price competitive for the broader area. Worth visiting if you need a quick, tasty bite on campus and are feeling bougie.“
“I recently hosted an event for students here and it was fantastic! The space/venue, hospitality, service, and food were excellent. I could not get a hold of anyone by phone the week before our event since the pub was closed for summer hour and menu changeover. However, I was able to get connected with the pub manager via email and he immediately replied and was accommodating to my request to come 30 minutes prior to the pub opening to set up and order food. When I arrived the team started rearranging tables and setting up our space. The manager helped me order food and ensured the food was brought out right as our guests arrived. This event was very casual and we had only asked for help with ordering food in advance, but the whole team there went above and beyond our expectations! We would definitely host future events here and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have an event or to just come to for a hangout!“
“Details. Details Details. What a refreshing, beautiful experience. I can't get over the experience of this restaurant. The kindness, the service and beautiful location made me so excited to come back. Love the menu and the exabition kitchen! I'm excited to make this my spot!“
“Service was amazing! Garrett was so attentive and would bring everything we needed before we could even think of asking. Service like that is what makes the experience truly memorable. The atmosphere is good too—not too loud and beautiful decor. Ingredients were delicious, but I was not a fan of some dishes (could be personal preference). The cucumber salad seemed too acidic and the pork belly with burrata pairing didn’t go well in my opinion. But again, the quality was great and the rest is personal preference. Would be an injustice if I didn’t mention that trout was absolutely delectable! Might be the best one I’ve ever had. Also, the vanilla soft serve with cardamom crumble was a hit!“
“Super cute restaurant inside the Park James Hotel. The only reason this isn’t a five stars because of a few operational issues. There is no parking. They do offer valet but only the first two hours are free. Luckily I found street parking about a block away so good to know that is an option. While the ascetics are beautiful, the comfort level is not great. The chairs are hard and uncomfortable. The backseat cushions on the booth move around as it is hanging on a bar as a freestanding pillow situation.Unfortunately, the lighting kept changing from super bright to dim a few times during the hour and a half we were there. The food is five stars. Everything we had was cooked perfectly with tons of flavor. We started with the calamari. The sauce that came with it was so good.We then decided to share the ceasar salad and the squid ink seafood pasta. The pasta bowl was overflowing with tender seafood. The pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce had a little kick that was a welcome surprise. So good! ?The drinks and deserts were really good as well. The service was attentive, friendly and absolutely lovely. Everyone from the host, to the chef, to the servers were excellent. ??We were there on a Wednesday night and had no problems getting a table, but I can see how on the weekends or sunny days (for the outdoor area) it can get quite busy. Would recommend making sure to have a reservation. They also had live music the night we were there, and the talent was quite good.I will definitely be back for the food, but will be sure to request one of the high top tables or outside seating.“
“A lovely meal. The chef is super creative in the use of vegetables and original sauces. Nice selection of wines by the glass, which our server was happy to let me taste before ordering. Highly recommend the cauliflower starter and the chickpea risotto, which were quite exceptional. The baked cod however was a bit too salty. And we needed to order some bread to cleanse our palate afterwards. They did offer to remake the fish which was thoughtful, but it would have interrupted the flow of our dinner at that stage. That said, it was a great experience overall. And don't skip the s'mores desert!“
“At first coming in side we were not sure what to get but then we meet Ms Sindy here and she was very friendly and answer my questions about the menu and I ordered a BBQ bacon burger and for my boy a grilled chicken and some fries we love the food and the experience we had here I'm for sure recommend this place if you want a nice burger with fries“
“Absolutely amazing experience. From the time we checked in for our reservation, service was very kind and thoughtful and everyone wanted to make sure we had the best time. Stunning dining spaces. Every corner beautifully designed making for an elevated experience. Depending on which spot you pick, you can be sure it will be a distinct experience. Food was stellar and our waiter was absolutely lovely, checking in on us and giving us excellent recommendations. It's been a while since a place swept me off my feet like Sekoya did! Can't wait to come back!“
“I came here for the first time in 2017 to celebrate a friend's promotion. It was my friend's favorite place and has since also become my favorite place as well. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is reminiscent of a more sophisticated time in American history (think of a restaurant thank Frank Sinatra would eat at). In fact, the waiter that served us that night had mentioned that the Iron Gate was Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant in the Bay Area and that he had served Sinatra on a few occasions. Whenever Sinatra played at the old Circle Star Theatre in San Carlos, he would ask his driver to take him to the Iron Circle afterwards.“
“We had the most delicious meal last night at Protégé. Each course of the tasting menu was perfection. At the end we couldn't choose a favorite because they were all equally incredible. Our server, Fleur, was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine and gave us wonderful recommendations for the perfect wines to compliment the various courses. The whole experience was wonderful and I can't wait to go back sometime.Dietary restrictions: They made sure they were aware of all of my dietary restrictions and ensured the food I was served was safe for me to eat by making small adjustments when needed.“
“This place is super yummy.Breakfast, lunch and dinner. All American food.Burgers are delicious! The Philly cheese steak is also yummy. Fries are good.I gave 4 stars for the service because almost everyone is really nice and awesome. There's one, every more and then that has a little tude. And the 4 stars for atmosphere only because it's like a hole in the wall vibe (which usually have the best food) and the bathroom is outside. But at least they have one. And it's big and usually clean.“
“We found this place roughly a month ago, and the owner and head chef named Josh is arguably one of the best steps I've ever met, I come from chefs background used to be a corporate chef years ago, and the food and quality of service at this location is arguably the best I've ever dealt with, including French laundry. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who is interested in an outstanding service, outstanding food and outstanding ambience. We will definitely continue to go back to this location as many times as we can.“
“My new fav brunch! Loved the food. I had a scramble with bacon and fruit as a side, and it was perfect! I also shared a few bites of millionaire’s bacon from a friend, unique and yummy! Can’t wait to go back. It’s a treat!Dietary restrictions: They were very familiar with my celiac and offered alternatives. Sadly I couldn’t have the side of brussel sprouts and potatoes (looked SO good), but the fruit was perfect.Parking: I parked down the street since the lot was full. Busy place and rightly so!“
“The serving staff are very friendly but lacking a little on the familiarity with the dishes. That's the only nitpick I can give Selby's.The flavor and technique totally justified the respect for Selby's approach to classic fine dining.“
“As usual, Flea St takes all the best parts of the farm-to-table method, stays true to the mission without a lot of self-congratulatory stuff, then adds real attentive service and care to every detail such that you feel like they've been just waiting to have you as a guest. The team is warm, professional and skilled - such a joy to have this gem available to us all.“
“Fun, casual place for meeting a group. The culinary approach is best described as comfort food, with something for every taste. I chose Lazy Dog to for a family get-together because it's close to our Foster City relatives, has easy parking, and a nice outdoor area that is dog-friendly. We all found something we liked in the menu. My husband really liked the Cuban sandwich, my older daughter loved the Kraft macaroni and cheese (nothing special, obviously, but exactly what kids tend to want), while my other daughter wanted Asian noodles, so we shared the yaki soba (which was delicious). Most importantly, my somewhat picky 92 year old grandmother, who medically needs to make sure she eats enough (but can't always bring herself to), ate her entire portion of teriyaki noodles. The lunch portion was perfect for her--she can't eat too much in one sitting. What I liked most about Lazy Dog was the service. Anthony was really great. Some of the dishes we initially tried ordering were unavailable, so he brought free dessert--sundaes for both my daughters. And they were extra fun: bowls of ice cream with little dishes of chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, and sprinkles so the girls could make the sundaes themselves. The other staff were also attentive. When the sun got bright, they brought an umbrella, unprompted, to shade my grandmother. There's a deal right now for one small plate for $5, available all day--a bargain.“
“I’ve come several times for lunch, the food is always great - flavorful and seasonal. I booked a private dinner, and was blown away at the menu, service, creative flavors and atmosphere. One of the best dinners I have had in a decade, 10/10!“
“My family and I came by 3 weeks ago and they were great. Awesome atmosphere the service was great. The owner was helping out. They make great use of the space. The food was terrific. We ordered two godfather burgers, an impossible burger and sliders. Everything was to order. Having an impossible option was awesome. We can't wait to come back. I think I will ask for my bun toasted but other than that I have no complaints.“
“We love Vino Locale! Nice ambiance, great wine list, and solid snacks to enjoy. Of of the best things about Vino Locale is that the wine list isn't just the same 5 wines that you see at many other places, they offer a great variety of domestic & international wines, and treat each one well. I love the Sancerre on the menu, and appreciate that they offer 6oz or 9oz pours, half bottles, and full bottles. The Black Cabra Cabernet Sauvignon and Miraval Rose are also among my favorites. In terms of food items, I usually gravitate toward the chicken skewers are a good option and come with a few flavor/sauce options. The beet salad is good, and I often get their Brussels sprouts (know what to expect, though: they're not fried/crispy, but are tasty - served with parmesan, cranberries, almonds, and optional bacon). The cheese plates and hummus platter are also good, reliable options. Service is so friendly! They have a nice dog-friendly patio (and often have a few treats for pups), and live music most Thursday evenings.“
“The Refuge is known for its pastrami sandwiches and excellent rotating craft beer selection. Now, I’m from New York City, the land of Katz’s Deli pastrami sandwiches, so my bar is pretty high, and it would be blasphemy for me to even compare the two, but I have to hand it to them, it’s a pretty spectacular pastrami sandwich. Highly recommend.“
“*** Update***I recently went here again and tried the corn beef hash. I highly recommend it.Also, tried the Belgian Waffle so fluffy and butteryI passed by this place a few times and always wanted to stop by and try it. Finally, I got to try it, and this place is amazing. Upon entering, it seemed super busy. It looks like the place has been here for a while, but the chairs and tables looked modern. Not worn out and faded looking like some places.I was warmly greeted, right away. She looked like someone who enjoys her job. She told me that he chicken fried steak was the special today. So naturally, I had to order it. The portion was just right. It was crispy and so flavorful with the gravy. The other item we ordered was a ham and cheese omelette with pancakes. It looked so basic, but the flavor was amazing. The pancakes were buttery and delicious.I highly recommend this hidden gem. It is definitely worth it. It was reasonably priced, and the portion was just right.“
“The food was very good. I have never been to Caribbean to compare the authenticity of this place…but I was more than satisfied. There is limited parking and seating…which is the only downfall.Parking: There are only a few spots. Most of them are painted green as well (15 minutes).“
“The ambience is one of the greatest reasons why we keep returning. We missed Cameron's great service this time, but the young lady who helped us was great. Food , as always, was top notch. Only slight negative was there were more than one beverage choices not available, but listed on the menu.“
“Delicious. I don't like that they don't take reservations (annoying, get over yourself JS) but their food is freaking amazing. Will someone please give me like 10 of their scones to eat RIGHT NOW?Hakuna Frittata is wonderful; everything is wonderful. Get here EARLY on the weekends (like, before they open), they get very crowded.“
“My husband got the Chop pastrami salad, which is always good and this time I got the shrimp tacos. Perfect amount and should've asked for some spicy sauce or jalapeños because it could've used a little kick. All in although, service was great what else can you ask for!?“
“Such a peaceful dining experience, I always enjoy coming here for lunch on a sunny day when I am in town. A little expensive but everything is high quality and delicious. Gorgeous gardens to walk around, feels like you are in Europe! Definitely recommend the salmon salad. There is a parking lot with ample amount of parking spots. I always make a reservation ahead of time.“
“This spot is a downtown gem, off the beaten track, and open to the public (next to senior center Avenidas). The food is delicious, fresh, and has the “extra flair” that comes from Chef Julien being a passionate foodie and French culinary school trained professional. The fish sandwich is outstanding (I have now had it on three visits!) with beer-based batter (not too much, not greasy, not dry) with at least seven different savors coming through the sauce, fresh veggies, and condiments on the fresh ciabatta bun. I like to have it with a Perrier sparkling water and follow up with tiny raspberry jam-filled beignets and a small americano on the hidden inside patio. Chef Julien is working to expand and improve coffee offerings. He is kind, down-to-earth, and very approachable. And also does catering for events, has a crêpe stand at the Sunday California Avenue Farmer’s Market, and is a private chef. Great value for money.“
“Wow, I really enjoyed my dinner. We stumbled into this place and it turned out so good. It’s basically American done really well.Order at the counter, find a seat and your food comes in about 10 minutes. They have a bunch of craft beers but I didn’t try any this time. They have a ton of dishes but we opted to both get steak. And it was cooked very well. Yet and well seasoned. Good portion size including the sides.Lots of seating. But a little loud. And a little cold in the main hall. The outdoor one (well, truly indoor) has heating lamps which help a lot.Looking forward to future visits.“
“We met friends at this restaurant after doing a Yelp review and I'm so glad we did. One of the first things I noticed was the high-quality of the menu: Mary's chicken, Scottish salmon, and other brands we love. The kitchen didn't disappoint. It was delicious and our guests were really pleased. The service was outstanding. and as we hoped, they had heaters and it was comfortable to eat outside in December. We will definitely be going back.“
“Hadn't been here for a long time. The food was really good and so was the service. We had the fresh spinach mushroom omelet and the full stack of blueberry pancakes. The omelet was really big as the plate was ~11" in diameter. The pancakes were huge as the plate was ~9" in diameter. We couldn't eat it all and took it home.“
“The atmosphere, service and wines were amazing I wish I were able to say my Mediterranean pasta was good but wasn’t; I believe they use cooked shrimp in the dish and if not mistaken it said “prawns” which is why I had ordered it in the first place, the shrimp was absolutely overcooked and trust me I know my shrimp since my sis uses cooked shrimp I know the awful texture and would never expect it to be served in this amazing restaurant.I absolutely will go back and hopefully they will use fresh shrimp and try the dish again.“
“⸻Town Restaurant: A Culinary OasisNestled in the heart of the city, Town Restaurant offers a delightful blend of elegant ambiance, delicious food, and impeccable service. Their menu boasts a wide variety of options, with the steaks standing out as a definite highlight. The attentive waitstaff adds to the charm, ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a fantastic meal, Town Restaurant delivers on all fronts.Parking: Never have had Problem with parking“
“We tried the 8-hour bolognese, the local black cod, and the citrus burrata. They were absolutely perfect, no seasoning was needed. Everything was locally fresh, impressive, and yet so familiar; great setting for perfect comfort food in a family-owned restaurant. We regret we didn’t try their signature Dungeness crab pasta and that will be something for another visit. This experience was an excellent surprise on our work trip.“
“I spent half a year at Palo Alto interning at a tech company and I frequently ate at crepevine. I like it very much. Almost all good is great, tastes good, reasonably priced, and very large portion. I often take half of the meal out for dinner. The selection is also very good. I had salad, sandwich, omelette, a lot of dishes. Overall, I enjoyed dining at Crepevine, although I dont know whether I will come back to Palo Alto again.“
“I love the blueberry moffle, a combination of mochi and waffle, and I also like the egg soufflé. The sides, including the fried potato and Brussels sprouts, are very tasty.Vegetarian options: You will need to ask for the vegetarian options. Even some of them look vegetarian when read the ingredients, the seasoning may contain seafood.“
“I just love this place. It’s such a great neighborhood low key vibe but mixed with some of the best food I’ve had in the Bay Area - unpretentious but inventive, high quality and just hand down delicious. I love that everyone who works at Bottleshop seems to really believe in Bottleshop. It means a lot to have all your staff excited about what this place is doing. The owners are well versed in all things wine and always have something fun on hand. Could not recommend this place more.“
“Updating my older review: I've been coming here for years, since it's a reliable place with fair prices and quality food. (Sometimes I eat here once a week when I'm in town for work). In recent months, though, I've noticed a subtle change. The tomatillo soup (a longtime favorite) is now thinner, with less flavor. I've still been ordering it, but it's not what it was. And now, tonight, the bowl had substantially less soup- about 3/4 of what it usually is. And I also noticed the burrito was a little bit smaller. I'm always satisfied and don't get hungry for the rest of the night after eating here, but not this time. Shrinkflation? Hmmm. I give 4 stars, but I hope they continue the great quality and portions that I've grown to rely on at Aqui. If so, I'll gladly give them 5 stars again.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of families with kids here.“
“I've driven by this place a few times, and it's always pretty packed, and parking can be hard. I really wanted to try the bacon wrapped tater tots. I decided to place an order to go. I placed my order over the phone. The gentleman was super nice.Upon arriving, parking wasn't too bad at that time. Inside, it was pretty packed but had an inviting vibe. The guy at the bar was the one who actually took my order. Super nice guy.I ordered:1. Bacon wrapped tater tots - It tasted pretty good. Simple, something you can make at home, but it hit the spot.2. Sliders - A little greasy then I'd want, but I'm sure if you're eating it while drinking, it hits the spot“
“Fast and friendly, my son loves the pancakes and the view of the local airport, which features small planes and jets coming and going.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and an amazing place to take your little one who likes planesWheelchair accessibility: There is a RAMP“
“I don't think I've ever been to a better restaurant. Good food, good people, best atmosphere. I recommend the bean mini tacos. AND especially the garlic fries. Perfect place to celebrate after a run in Edgewood nature preserve.Vegetarian options: Bean mini tacos.Dietary restrictions: Vegan ain't no problem.Kid-friendliness: Arcade games and quarter machines! They're good adults too.“
“We had a great dinner with old friends and it was quiet enough to actually hear each other! Beautiful spot by the water, great service, and the food was quite good. I had the teriyaki skirt steak which was perfectly done and delicious. My husband's halibut was good as well. The bread and Mediterranean platter were just ok but the Fritto Misty was good. If you want to go to a really crowded, noisy, popular place, this isn't it. But it's busy enough, the food is decent, the service is great, and the ambiance is really nice. I'd definitely go back.“
“Visited Rustic House while in town on business week of 4/1/24. Food and service were fantastic. I recommend the crab and lobster linguini!! It was so good that I went back the following day to get it again! Great experience for a first timer in CA - thanks“
“I had breakfast here. It was fine, but expensive for an omelet and a cup of tea. At the price (nearly $40 all in) I would have expected something more "wow". I've had tastier meals at places with worse atmospheres and more reasonable prices.“
“This has become my husband and my go-to place for a quick, delicious breakfast. I usually get a skillet - every one I've tried comes out piping hot and packed with flavor - and a freshly squeezed orange juice. Unlike many other places, their orange juice is actually real freshly squeezed juice! Service is lightning fast, even when the place is packed.“
“1st time here. Service was a bit slow at first. Once we placed our order, food came out timely. One staff member was very friendly and the food was delicious. There was a service charge added to our check, but it was explained prior. I really enjoyed the vibe. Happy and slow.“
“Walking with a friend on Laurel Street we stopped in for a glass of Champagne and a Cheese Plate. Seating at the bar was comfortable, friendly bartender, an entire wall of wine you will surely find the perfect accompaniment to anything on the menu. Atmosphere was relaxed, casual and service en pointe. Parking can be difficult especially on weekends.“
“Had lunch here with a friend. He ordered fish and chips and I had the tomato soup with brioche croutons..delicious. And the chicken salad..which was fairly generous serving and included baby tomatoes, and bacon and brie cheese. Parking is easy and service was good and it was relatively quiet and easy to have a good conversation“
“Review is for bar. Lovely charcuterie. Could improve bread to meat ratio. Cheese is extra. Unclear what cheese would be on cheese plate. Did not inquire.Couldn't serve us anything from regular menu. Just bar bites. Unfortunate.Seats were heated which are nice except now there's no reason to cozy up with one another.Other food was decent. Forgettable. Charcuterie was the highlight.“
“They have many. Places to eat that are familiar to folks like Starbucks coffee, Jamba Juice,Panda Express and Subway. There are also some independent places like the Coho Coffee House and the treehouse now both have very good food and beer available.“
