We had a graduation dinner of 40 people scheduled for a dinner downtown that had to be canceled due to protests/curfew. We called last minute to see if Leona’s could take us. We got lucky since it was early it the week. The owner and his team jumped in to accommodate us and were so helpful! We got so lucky. Even though we were a last minute booking, they treated our large group with such care. The staff worked so hard and our evening was perfect! This place is a gem, not only for the fantastic food, but for the hard-working, kind-hearted folks working there. Thank you!”

“Easily one of the very best sushi places I have been to here or in Japan. We went for a birthday dinner and chose the Omakase (option 2). It was an incredibly well balanced meal including many of our favorites. The quality is just perfect. Temperature, freshness, taste, everything from the fish to the rice, toppings and soy sauce.

The service is super good, such a friendly staff. chefs and owner. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.”

“I visited AVI CUE recently and was genuinely impressed by everything — from the food to the atmosphere and service. I tried the Wagyu Shawarma Sandwich, and it was next-level delicious. The beef was incredibly tender, perfectly spiced, and paired beautifully with the fresh veggies, tahini, and amba sauce in a soft, warm pita. It’s rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth the hype.”

That spicy roasted miso avocado roll? I’m still dreaming about it. The ramen? A full-on experience. Chef Tokuma even came over to explain the menu (yes, the service is that good). Every bite was dramatic in the best way possible—bold, balanced, and bursting with flavor. I’m a lifer now. I had the avocado toast with two poached eggs and it was tasty. I added a sprinkle of pepper and it was set to go. Definitely interested in trying the rest of their menu.

Cold brew was also nice although not too memorable.”

“Stopped in here today and glad we did. This is a very comfortable open air patio restaurant with outstanding food.

My wife had the chicken kabob plate and I had the beef plate. They were very tasty. Even the rice was very flavorful. My favorite was the beef shish kabob. It was tender with really good flavor.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

My favorite is the gyro combo with some sweet potato waffle fries. Don't forget the garlic aoli sauce (thank me later ;D)”

We asked her for the candle immediately and it took her over 15 minutes to bring the candle for us. The ice cream was completely melted by the time she brought the candle. Utterly rude and disrespectful. Never will be back. I hope the management sees this message and fixes their waiters attitudes.”

“Leo is the best chef. So kind, personable, and knows his sushi. He makes just about everything from his ginger to his soy sauce from scratch even though he’ll tell you, “no soy sauce” for most of the sushi that comes as it should be eaten. Best sushi restaurant on Ventura Blvd by far. Make sure to try his dry aged fish!

I'm thinking of doing this again, it was well worth the time and money and the Gelato was made from all real ingredients! We got to make a few different flavors and they were all so delicious! She answered all the questions I had in such a patient and gracious manner, I learned SO much. She made the entire process so exciting. She told me so many stories about Fatamorgana and her background, so memorable. She took the time to print out some really helpful information about Gelato and helped put everything into context. “Hi there, it’s Alfie the mini Dachshund again! ? I recently had brunch at Jax’s Studio City, and let me tell you, the food was almost as good as a nice belly rub!

First up, the Meat Lovers Burrito! Yum, it was packed with all the good stuff—meaty, savory, and filling. I’d give it a solid 8/10. Then came the Classic Egg Sandwich… let’s just say the garlic aioli made it delicious! Every bite had me wagging my tail in excitement.

Now, as much as I liked the food, the service was a bit ruff-ruff ?. It seemed like they might have been short-staffed(and I know short) and oddly enough, they asked everyone to provide a card to eat. Not sure what that was about! But other than that, everything was still pretty pawsome.

So, if you’re in the mood for a tasty breakfast, Jax’s won’t let you down on food, but just be ready for a little wait. ?

Also the price was $100 for 2 so get ready.
