Never use ae, I've been paying on time for 11 years. But today I found out that they charged a late fee of $29. It turned out that there was a transaction one day after I paid last month. They counted it as the unpaid payment of the previous month, but obviously this transaction did not exceed the 30-day payment period. The call took 18 minutes to connect, but to no avail, explained why it would be charged. Then I chatted online, and after about 25 minutes of response, I just copied and pasted the answer, and finally I successfully canceled the card that my wife and I had for 11 years.Never use American express credit card! Visited on 10/17/21. Definitely had a great experience. I want to first state in order to gain access you must purchase either an express pass or VIP ticket USING ANY American Express Card. The lounge is located on the lower lot to the right after the escalator, a little passed the Mummy Ride entrance. It has a blue door. You can't miss it. Upon entering, you are greeted by the front desk. As I mentioned earlier purchase of an express OR VIP pass using any amex card is needed for check in. Once you are checked in. There is a small seating area with comfortable seating, granola bars, potato chips and small bottles of water to enjoy. This day I had some very bad motion sickness from all the rides so hiding out for an hour just trying to get back to myself felt great. A great place to be to grab a snack, cool down or relax.

Enjoyed the rest stop at the American Express Lounge. Found AE website about this lounge and requirements to access. Purchased my VIP tickets with my Platinum card and went inside with my family with no problem. Similar policies with other credit cards memberships to use the airport lounges around the world.

Very disappointed with the access requirements and transparency entering this lounge. I'm sure I'm not the only one confused about who, how and when you can enter. Even with a Platinum or Centurion card AND Platinum pass they turned me away. To make matters worse, I have had no problems coming here earlier this year, but apparently due to the park getting busier they can no longer accommodate me. Nor did I realize that I/we were an exception to begin with. From my understanding you need an express ticket or VIP ticket for the day purchased with your (any) American Express card to get access. It is not really clear if you need a Platinum card or higher card with American Express however, despite the Platinum card having a high annual fee with global lounge program, you would expect entry at a theme park lounge branded as American Express, IT IS NOT!!! It is really a silly VIP experience lounge with the American Express brand slapped on it. You are likely to be very disappointed if you are a Platinum card member with a platinum pass members and paid for your annual pass with that card and have receipt proof. $500 pass too! Not cheap. Such a stark contrast to other Amex lounges at airports or Staples Center you will be disappointed by the confusing requirements of who Universal lets in. Very disappointed with Universal and Amex. This is unclear. Now about the lounge: it is a nice cool place to relax, charge your phone, get some water and snacks. I do not expect food, buffet service or alcoholic drinks like 'real' lounges run by American Express. It is a nice little break, but not worth paying $100+ Universal Express (fast lane upgrade) or VIP experience just to go in in my experience.

Totally unclear that you need a VIP ticket AND a platinum card to get in. Totally stupid. Not happy with Amex or universal.

A little slice of heaven. A place to cool down and relax. The receptionist is one of the friendliest customer service people I've ever met!

Thank goodness this place exists. It is nothing fancy, but on a hot day, their ac is a life savior. This place is located right next to the Mummy ride. I came in a few times to get free water and snacks! Their bathroom is pretty clean as well. It is a good place to take a break at during a long day at the Universal Studios Hollywood.

Everything online says you have to purchase tickets with Amex Platinum to enter, but was told on-site that you have to purchase Express or VIP (not currently offered) tix with Amex Platinum in order to enter. Expect better communication and zero discrepancies from a card like Amex Platinum. Disappointing.

Zero empathy from employees. They did not give us the right info on where we could use our vouchers. Managers cant help in any way, even when employees lie to customers right in front of them. At least take ownership in your mistakes.
