It was late getting into the hotel across the street so we gave their late nite happy hour a try. I know it’s Calif but “happy hour” didn’t appear to affect drink value… maybe they cut the price a little and make them smaller. We tried a few 串物(grilled skewers) but were underwhelmed. One staff member was really upbeat n friendly. Others were a mix. A light was out over our table- see pics, kinda dark.Parking: It’s is a strip mall

We came here because it is open late we showed up around 10pm. After we sat down the waiter was very hurried when we put in an order and was not helpful at all. My daughter asked for gyoza which is a very common appetizer at Japanese restaurants. He said they didn't have them. Then after we ordered we saw "pork dumplings" (gyoza). They only had 4 rolls on the menu all basically deep fried. My wife ordered what they called salmon carpaccio. It came out as 5 very large very thick pieces of salmon almost the size of a playing card and as thick as my pinky finger. No sauce on it at all. That is a lot of raw fish to try to bite into. The rolls we ordered tasted the same because as I said they were all deep fried. Definitely will not be coming back.

Ordered take out and they messed up the order. Vegetarians /Vegan beware: the veggie roll had fishy aftertaste bc they don't change knives when cutting it. Overall a very below average place.

If I could give zero stars I would. I came in today around 1:45 to grab a roll and a glass of wine. The young man who seated me was very kind and pleasant but it was obvious the chefs did not want to serve me. I ordered the flaming dragon roll (which is to be served table side and lit on fire). The chef made the roll and sent it to my table not wrapped in foil. The server told me he already put fire to it. I sent it back and asked him to set it on fire table side as the heat from the outside makes the roll. I could hear the chef complaining loudly while he prepped the roll the way it should have been in the first place. When I bit into the roll it tasted nothing like it usually does, there was no crab meat in it and it was cold. Next time if the chefs are going on break and do not want to serve customers then they should say they are closed. The way I was treated was unacceptable and I paid for low quality food that I only took two bites of. I come here often and order the same thing , but after today I will not be back!!

*UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT*I've been going to sake bomb for quite sometime and loved it, However, prior to the management change, they would close around 9pm. NOT ANYMORE! If you need to get your sushi/Japanese with Korean twist cravings satiated, they are open until 2am.My girl and I ordered two sushi rolls, a chicken bento with tempura, and a egg cheese slut (as the name implies very cheesy)The highlight of our experience was the chill ambience and the phenomenal service. Our server Vivi (sorry if we butchered the name) was very sweet and funny af. As Sunnyvale locals it's breath of fresh air to have another spot that is open late and provides great food/service.Expect us more, Sake Bomb! ( next time, I'll try out the sake menu)

Came here for lunch with a friend and we enjoyed our meal. We got seated right away and the staff quickly brought out the menus. My friend opted for a bento box with a couple of sushi rolls while I got the 9-piece sashimi platter. Both our meals came with miso and salad. My sashimi pieces were nice, thick cuts and tasted fresh and fatty. My friend's sushi rolls were big - they weren't primarily rice either, it actually came with a good serving of protein inside. You definitely get value for your dollar here. My only complaint is that they didn't have any tea available when we came - they were out. How is a sushi place out of tea?! Shouldn't they be a staple? It was a bummer as I was really wanting a hot green tea to have with my meal, but otherwise, the experience was very enjoyable and the food was good.

The flaming dragon is just one of the best shushis I have ever tasted. Besides the remarkable food, the place is also affordable and the service is good. It is worth the visit.

Sakebomb is open at night as an IZAKAYA - omg am i impressed! I really love the soft music and lights that are characteristic of izakayas along with the awesome foods that are associated with japanese fusion bars. This place is Korean owned and has Korean an-joos as well as some Japanese favorites. I didn't see any photos of their izakaya menu so i took some to upload! Today I tried the Sake Bomb (spicy tuna nachos) and Agedashi Tofu. I really wanted to order more but I had just stopped by for a light drink by myself so I didn't get to try more but I will most definitely be back to try their Nagasaki Jjampong (my absolute favorite Korean-Japanese Izakaya menu of all time) and their skewers! Hopefully I'll be able to bring more people with me so I can try more items. Anybody down to go with me? lol I had a really wonderful time here and highly recommend this place to people who want laid back bar that isn't super crowded and had good food.-----So,, I ended up calling a friend to join me and we ordered the jjampong and a couple skewers and I must say, they aren't what I expected but I was pleased! The jjampong is a soup that is heavily seafood based - I'm more familiar with pork broth soups for Nagasaki Jjampong but the soup here is primarily based on various shellfish (clams and mussels) so the soup is different from what I was expecting. They are both flavorful but bone broth is heavier and shellfish broth is lighter and more refreshing (but definitely tastes different from classic nagasaki jjampong). I was happy with the skewers (bacon wrapped scallop and pork belly) because they weren't too salty. Overdoing the salt is a common mistake in yakitori places because salt is a key ingredient in a good flavorful dish but when it is overdone, I personally feel turned away from the restaurant (you can correct under-salted but not over-salted). When the skewers came out, i was offered various sauces but i declined because i prefer to taste what the restaurant presents on its own. The fire-grill flavor was there but did not overpower the flavor of the proteins. I was very satisfied overall! As for alcohol, I only drink soju so I can't really speak to the drinks! ‍

I was here for dinner and this turned out to be a very busy restaurant. I ordered a sushi combination, and the food was ready in less than 5 minutes. Considering that it was almost full house, that was incredibly fast. I wondered if the nigiri sushi were ready made? Overall, it was a good experience.
