“The tres leches cake was amazing but I feel the customer service is lacking. When I ordered they asked me if I wanted fruit. Based on the picture I saw online for tres leches, I imagined it would come on top. So I said yes. At the end of the call the woman I spoke to told me that since it's tres leches, it shouldn't be out of the fridge more than an hour. Ok, that's fine. When I get there to pick up there are no fruits on top. They're in the filling. And now they tell me that because of the filling, it shouldn't be out for more than 30 mins max. I feel like I wasn't explained the options. I know I asked for balloon decoration but they should've said something about how having that means no fruit on top? Anyway, great tasting cake. Just wish someone was explaining things better , especially considering it is hot and things go bad faster.“
“I know this pizzeria for about 6 years. They have the best pizza in Winnetka, if I don’t exaggerate they have the best Persian pizza in Los Angeles. Every time I have a party, it doesn’t matter birthday party or just having my friends over for a football or basketball game, everyone ask me to order some cheese or pepperoni pizza from Thyme. We all recommend this place. Next time instead of ordering pizza from Domino’s or Papa Jons, try Thyme Pizzeria. You won’t regret. Also they have this heart shaped pizza which is good for special occasions like Valentine’s Day or anniversary.Vegetarian options: I’m not vegetarian. But I believe that if this place offers a fully vegan menu, vegetarians can find lots of vegetarian options. I’m not sure if they allow substitutions on their vegan menu it. But it doesn’t hurt to ask. “Ike's has the best vegetarian subs around! Well, from what I've tried anyway. Few months back I tried their Freddy Krueger sandwich (not vegetarian) on their dutch crunch and it was great. The dutch crunch is delicious. I also tried their James and the giant peach recently and it'll be my go-to anytime I visit for sure! All the ingredients come together perfectly and the vegan fried chicken is good too! Their sandwiches come with a candy (caramel apple lollipops) and as someone with a sweet tooth, I love it. They do have a nice sized outdoor patio with heaters, but they were not seating there when we went on Valentines Day evening (it was cold that night) It was very busy! Most dishes ran around $21- $25 range. Didn't have wine. I enjoyed the yummy bread, food and service, so we'll be back!!“

The menu was on the wall and a little overwhelming but I quickly figured out it was a build your own pizza or salad. I went with the Mod (small) margerita pizza and added bacon (yum) Kept it simple. They had fountain drinks which I did see until after I bought something from the cooler. There were some little cakes at the checkout that I wanted to try. They were wrapped like old school "ding dongs" (I just dates myself ) I didn't buy one buy my friend said they are tasty so I will have to try one next time. Prices were a little higher than what I have paid at other establishments like this one but I wanted to try something new and we wanted something relatively fast. My pizza was tasty. The thin crust could have been a bit more well done but I realized I ordered thin crust and I should have requested a different crust upon ordering. That was my mistake. I also should have ordered the Mini size. The small was too much for me. Regardless, all the flavor was all there for me and I enjoyed my pizza. It was a nice place for a party of four. We had a nice big table and sat comfortably. Nice visit. Will return.“

Other than what was on top, it tasted like a solid biscuit. The beef and pork empanadas, while tasty, were almost all bread. I would say they had maybe a teaspoon or two of filling for a decent sized empanada.The place itself, while nice on the inside, suffers from most LA establishments. The place is small so seating is mainly outside. The transient presence is also off putting, again, not the establishment's fault. Again, however, inside was spotless and very clean and inviting.The place had wonderful staff.It is great for a flan/custard sweet tooth fix and to wash it down with great coffee, but the pastries aren't the greatest. I also did not try the other savory dishes like the quiches, so I cannot comment on them.Definitely worth trying at least once.Parking: shares a lot with a restaurant, laundromat, and a few other establishments, but it is not hard to find a spot. “First of all, Half Baked has the best cakes and cupcakes in all of Los Angeles, and it’s run by the kindest women. If we lived closer, we would go every day. They did an excellent job with our wedding cake. We did two tiers, with the one being chocolate cake and fresh strawberry+strawberry cream filling, and the other tier a vanilla cake with the same filling. What Half Baked excels at in my opinion is nailing a perfect balance. The cake was perfectly moist and also had a very nice fluffiness.The strawberry cream filling is something I can eat by the spoonful. It was perfectly balanced in that it wasn’t too sweet the way other creams/icings are. It was just perfect. So perfect that I asked them to make the same chocolate strawberry cake for my wife’s birthday a few months later. I asked for the rosette design in blush pink and they nailed it.Half Baked knows what they’re doing, and I just want to have parties all the time so they can keep making cakes for us. Our group was traveling from Washington State and selected this restaurant based on Google reviews and location alone and we were not disappointed. Our junior roller derby league intends to be back in the area at least once a year and this will absolutely be our go-to team dinner spot on future trips. Food was delicious and service was excellent! They really made our group feel welcome and we all left full which can be hard to do with a bunch of teenaged roller derby players after a game day!“

“Falafel Palace is the bomb! I live nearby and I go there often. What I like about it is that the food is always fresh and they give you very good portions for the money. I've tried several things on the menu to include the baba ghanoush, falafel plate and falafel sandwich. They also have natural juices that are very good. I like the one chef that I see there all the time, he's very cool. In summertime it's really cool because you could sit outside at the patio.“
