“Came here on a weeknight during a trip to Tahoe. We were seated in the bar area at a high top that still offered a nice view of the beautiful lake. We opted for the tasting menu. The first course was a kanpachi, which was very light and flavorful. Next was a delightful beet salad. I enjoyed the scallop and lamb dishes very much. I thought the service was underwhelming, as they asked for us to hold on to our silverware between courses, which I find less than ideal for an upscale restaurant, particularly for a tasting menu. It was also hard to summon our waiter, as he was quite elusive. Their house breads were fantastic, though, and I really enjoyed their house made olive oil and lavender infused butter. The triple chocolate dessert that is part of the tasting menu is quite small but very rich. My dining partner opted for the panna cotta instead, which I think was stronger dessert. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here due to the quality and execution of the dishes and beautiful ambiance.“

“Really enjoyed the wines we had here. I had a glass of sangiovese & my husband has a red wine flight (3 different wines 2 Oz pours). We also shared the charcuterie plate. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the wines, which is super helpful because we were not super familiar with the wines produced in the Sierra Nevada region. This was a fun little place to stop on a rainy day.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“

Uncorked Tahoe City Wine Bar • $$
475 N Lake Blvd, Tahoe City

“I stopped in just because I saw the sign and wanted a bottle of good wine that I can't find at the Safe way down the road.I think the owner helped me, but I'm not sure. I came in looking for a Pinot Noir in the $30-ish range and he suggested the Lioco from Mendocino which was delicious. I took a risk, and it payed off. Thank you Uncorked for making the last day of our vacation special, I will be back and also recommend to all my friends!“

“I visited River Ranch on my ski trip out West from NYC. I went with 4 other friends of mine and we had a nice dinner. The service took a little while to first attend to us when we sat down such as getting water or acknowledging us. But, we had a nice time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and my lamb shank was super amazing. I also had the best sweet potato maple cheesecake in my life here. It was close to the mountain where we stayed and I would return given the opportunity.“

Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge American • $$

“We stayed at Sunnyside in March while spring skiing at Palisades. Our stay was absolutely incredible and we plan to stay again! The views are unmatched, residing directly on the water, making for incredible sunrise and sunset views. Our drive to palisades was an easy 15 minutes at most. The staff were so friendly, and the amenities far exceeded expectations a with a healthy continental breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea, filtered water stations and more. This lodge had such a warm and welcoming vibe, and guest could make themselves at home snuggled around the fire place, or getting a drink at the bar. The large bay windows around the entire circumference of the lodge allow for incredible views from every room!!! We will be back and look forward to visiting in the summer! This was the perfect end to our trip and it was very difficult to say goodbye. Thank you for an excellent stay!“

“Food is delicious! Every dish is well-balanced with a focus on bringing out the best in quality ingredients. We ordered the arancini per other recommendations and it was tasty. The charcuterie board is on point - a little bit of everything from familiar to unique. The Brussels sprouts are roasted and served with a balsamic-tinged sauce. The kale salad has tahini that balances a lemon tang. We split the steak frites and the butternut squash ravioli which were both done well. Service was fast and friendly. We ate an early dinner right after the lifts closed and it was only us plus a couple of other tables. The inside of the restaurant is bright and fresh. It's a tad expensive - appetizers/main/drinks might run ~ $75pp but a good value given the quality of the food.“
