“The food here is seriously good and many local workers come in for food, especially at lunchtime. This place is the opposite of fancy, which gives it a certain charm. The folks are friendly and you get your food quickly. I ride my bike all the way out from Indio and use it as a biking destination because it is so good.“
“We were off-roading for Tierra Del Sol and needed real food. Not many options in Salton but luckily we turned off the highway to find Rancho 86z. We had a wonderful experience here. The steak was great and it was a great vibe with Mexican soccer on TV. Very kid friendly.“

“I loved this place. We were seated outside in this large pavilion area with fantastic lighting and greenery all around. Service was great and attentive, and my Sante Fe omelette was one of the better omelets that I have had in my life. Side of toast, potatoes, and perfect amount of spice. Menu was also extensive, my one complaint was not being able to try more items on the menu. Next time I go, I will definitely choose to go sweet, but it will be challenging not to go back to savory with the fantastic egg dishes! By the way, get the freshly squeezed orange juice.“
“Really good chicken. I got the Steves Fries and I was very happy with the portion and flavor. The service was also very good. The manager was the only person working because someone called off and he was able to handle the small rush that happened while we were there.“

“We got there just before closing. I think they might have preferred that we go elsewhere, but politely made our food to go. Burger was very good. BLT had PICKLES on it which made it pretty weird and not as good as it could have been. They don't give a list of ingredients on their sandwiches, so a good idea to ask i guess. In 71 years, I've never had a BLT come with pickles, so never thought to ask.“
“I was more amazed with the service here than the food to be honest. All was good, but our server really made us happy with our visit. We had a server named Keri who really showed her appreciation for us and made sure we were taken care of after having to wait to be seated. We were in for lunch and she guided us through the menu and really helped us pick what was guided to our needs. Although they were busy, we were made sure we were taken care of.“
“TASTY! A MUST VISIT... I've been dying to try this restaurant within Fantasy Springs for a while now and I finally had the pleasure of visiting! The restaurant is clean, classy and has a warm feel to it. The staff are excellent, our waitress Wendy was so kind and attentive! The food came out to us quickly and was delicious. I noticed the Chicken Truffle Macaroni in bold letters on the menu and immediately had to try it! It's sooo good! The chicken was slightly dry but overall it was flavorful and the pasta was cooked to perfection The cheese sauce was gourmet and I'd recommend it to any pasta lover. The portion could be a bit bigger, but it was still satisfying! Just make sure you grab an appetizer. We have the hummus and pita in our party and two out of three hummus choices are pretty darn good. We needed more pita though, we only got a couple chips. This restaurant has Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean and more! The restaurant is pricey but casual.“
“Fish tacos were an amazing surprise from a truck stop! Delicious and inexpensive. Our waitress talked about supporting herself to attend the local College and how so many of her HS classmates were not going to school and had to work in the fields. A local popular place for fast food- lots of local couples enjoying the good food.“

“Light dinner with dessert.Vegetarian options: My generously portioned chopped salad had sliced brussel sprouts, very fresh tasty spring greens, sweet crisp apple slices, some good cheese chunks and walnuts. And the dressing tasted freshly made in a cup on the side. The lemon bar was off the charts in taste and freshness.Kid-friendliness: It was early evening. There was a woman seated at a booth with 2 children who were well behaved. The boys looked to be 7 and 9 years old. I didn’t notice a Kids’ Section on the regular menu. They may have a separate menu for kiddos.“
“The really great news is that Johnson's is open for at least another season. Lonnie retired and had posted about it not returning on Facebook, but it's still grooving. Really great friendly staff all around. To the lady bartender who told me her dream was to fly planes -- you should go for it. We're alive on Earth for a reason.“
