This place is located deep inside a shopping plaza adjacent to 85 Degrees Bakery. They have really great fresh roasted chestnuts here. They also have peeled chestnut options and specialty chestnut treats and beverages. I tried the Fuji ice cream with chestnuts. It was good but not wow. I did like the smaller size and the fact that there were Cheerios at the bottom haha. But probably wouldn't get again. Note that the chestnuts are good for only a few days.

I came in on a Sunday evening after dinner next door. It was during a storm so it was pouring rain all day and we were the only ones in. No one was at the counter in the moment but after a few minutes, someone helped us. We ordered some chestnuts and a soft serve (I know it was freezing cold but I really wanted some ice cream). They offered a lot of other desserts, drinks and of course incorporating chestnuts. This was my first time trying the chestnuts and I was pleasantly surprised! They were easy to peel and were nice and warm for the cold weather. The inside of the chestnut was the perfect texture: not too soft where it's mushy and not too hard where its undercooked. We also got a red bean dessert and it was super delicious as well. The red bean was flavorful but not too sweet--best part is it came out warm! If I am ever craving desserts and in the area, I will definitely come back!

2nd time here, but the first time I believe we only got the chestnuts. We order the Fuji mountain and a chestnut cake. The chestnut cake just tasted like chestnuts in a fluffy pancake. We didn't know how to feel about the ice cream. It had a sort of marshmallow consistency? However, I think we might just stick to just the chestnuts next time

cozy little shop with lots of different chestnut flavored things! got their matcha chestnut icecream (i think it was called fuji on the menu) - it comes with the chestnut soft serve and bunch of toppings like candied chestnut bits, cheerios, cookies, and wafers. the flavor of the soft serve was subtle but very nice. the matcha syrup went really well with all the toppings. as the shop is small, it gets packed easily - no dine-in areas but there are 2 small tables outside the shop. food - 8/10 customer service - 7/10

The man that works there was very nice. The chestnuts were good. I had an ice cream and boba drink. It's small and have no seats inside. There are 2 small tables outside with to seats each. Not really a hang out place.

Came here after dinner wanting something sweet. It's a nice little shop, but I think the taste isn't for me. Spent about $70 trying different things. I remember being here once before, but couldn't remember what I had. Everything looked well packaged and presented tho, and the service was friendly

Such a cute little dessert shop to visit after dining at the nearby restaurants in the plaza! Hisaya Kyoto Roasted Chestnuts uniquely offers a variety of Japanese chestnut based desserts, from chestnut sundaes and cakes to simple roasted chestnuts. I tried the Fuji Mountain Soft Serve ($5.99), which contained milk soft serve, cheerios, and chestnuts. I thought it was a wonderfully balanced, nutty dessert that I've never had before! I would be able to compare it to the korean injeolmi, but much milder in flavor. I also got a bag of the roasted Kyoto chestnuts, which were wonderfully creamy and naturally sweet. I think it is a wonderful shop to try out. There is a wall full of post-it notes from patrons sharing how much they love it.

What a variety of chestnut items - chestnuts, cakes, smoothies, drinks and even tiramisu!!! We tried the chestnut tiramisu - chilled. Service was good. Nice small hole in wall for date. :) No music though.

Was craving something sweet and simple, so I decided to try the vanilla and chestnut ice cream cone! It was delicious! Plenty of parking in the plaza. Short waiting time as well. Minimal seats available.

Cakes were tasty, but I couldn't tell which had what filling until I bit into them. Mont blanc cheesecake was very decadent and a little too sweet to eat more than a bite or two at a time. Packaging is so thoughtful and neat.

It's a unique small shop. No indoor seating areas. A few tables outside. Love that everything is chestnut flavor. I got to try a mix of the Japanese chestnuts with the Chinese chestnuts and it was delicious. The smoothie was ok, though I appreciated the chestnut chunks inside. My family liked the ice cream though.

This is a rare dessert place you can find in California. They specialize in chestnut related drinks, roasted chestnuts, chestnut cake, you name a dessert with chestnut in it, they have it! I tried their regular size roasted chestnut, chestnut red bean/white bean cake, and their chestnut milk tea. They were both delicious! Roasted chestnut was Not too sweet but very moist inside and crispy outside. The cake was very warm and tasty! But the milk tea was so-so, didn't taste too much chestnut flavor. Overall, I would definitely come back for their roasted chestnuts and cakes! Also has Plenty of parking spaces!
