We've rounded up Tulare's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“Over the years I've tried a lot of different places here in Tulare from taco trucks to actual store fronts, & this is the only place I return to. Everything about this place checks the box for me. Flavor is 10/10, customer service 20/10, price 10/10. Never disappointed with a hit or miss meal, just a smiling stomach that ate 3 too many tacos. Try their Chilorio, & Adovada, put this meat in everything from tacos & burritos to mulitas & super fries! Spice it up a notch from your typical carne asada you'll be happy you did! Thank you guys for all the delicious food, I'll continue to be a customer for as long as you guys keep on keeping on!! ?? (wish I had a food picture to post but all I have now is an empty plate?)“
“First time here. All I can say is wow. Some of the kindest, friendliness, efficient wait staff you could hope for.Wife and I went for St. Patrick's day buffet brunch. The food was remarkable. Tried a little of everything. See pics. It is a self service, served buffet.Asked for a couple cups of coffee, received two Café de Olla. Tasted fantastic, however I can't have sugar. But i highly recommend. But if you want a regular cup of joe, bring it with youLoved the aeronautical motif and the outdoor seating. We will certainly be returning.“
“I’d been searching for a long time for a place that served green chicken pozole. Finally, came to this place after a few recommendations and I will say it didn’t disappoint. It was authentic and delish. The only thing I missed was it being served with radishes and I prefer cabbage instead of lettuce but nonetheless this was sooo good. Definitely coming back and trying other menu items.“
“came for a pit stop after hours on the road and didnt have any high expectations but the food was great! i also forgot to ask about an ingredient after my order was given to me and they switched it out for me last minute free of charge and with great service! mom loved her menudo too. definitely adding it to our list of places worth stopping during a drive ! chilaquiles 10/10“
“A pleasant surprise! I've driven by this place many times before, but finally went in on the recommendation of a friend. The staff was very friendly and fast and our food was fresh, hot, and delicious! The restaurant is very much a "hole in the wall" but it was very clean and they cleaned up after customers very quickly. We had a variety of tacos, and I'd recommend them all! I'll definitely be back.Parking: A strip mall with lots of parking.“
“So I went today and I usually order tacos de cabeza but I decided to get asada tacos today because my husband likes it and he ordered a green wet burrito but we received ground beef instead of asada and it was pretty dry for me my husband does like his burrito though it wasnT bad their food is still good just wish we had been notified of the change though. But the staff is very accommodating so that's good. This is the Tulare Mooney location by the way“
“I really like this new location because the staff are super friendly and answer any questions you might have with a smile. They're also super fast for be Their food is so good and their prices match. It's also great that you can have breakfast anytime of day. .“
“I go every Friday to this spot during lunch as i work in construction 2 minutes away. The tacos are 1.25 every Friday so for 4 it's 5.41 including tax I love this spot the tacos are spicy tho so if you're not used to it ask for them without!“
“SOLID. This place serves both pork, beef, AND goat. If you're looking for flavor, quality, and trendy this is the place. Tortillas are homemade. Sauces are scratch. They're BUSY. And they should be. If you drive past this hole in the wall that's a big mistake.“
“I’ve been all over Cali !! This food is the BEST MEXICAN FOOD I EVER HAD. The food is fire and fresh. Handmade tortillas, rotisserie pastor and such much more goodness. They have a stand with multiple homemade salsa self served onions cilantro lemons everything you need they even have beans something I never see at taco trucks. Call me chunky I had tacos, quesadillas and bite of burrito I recommend this place to anyone. They are also located next to a liquor store the accepts EBT.“
“The food was good. Eggs pancakes and hashbrown did have that homemade vibe. The servers were nice. Its a small place but did have that old fashion cafe look. Made me feel like i was inside the cafe of the show friends. Wife said the menudo had amazing flavor. Our daughter definitely loved the beans over her quesadilla. I would go back to try other food on the menu.“
“Arsenio's is inside of a gas station. They also have a drive thru. I love the crunchy chicken tacos. The chicken is very juicy, well seasoned, and flavorful! The customer service is great & friendly and the prices are affordable. Also, like I said, it’s in a gas station, so the seating is a bit different because it’s fitted into the store in the corner. There is no really upkeep on the seating area and the few times I wanted to sit tables were dirty.“
“I've been going to Vejar's for over a year. Always great food. I always ask for Vanessa, because she's the best bartender and server there! She's very attentive and makes sure we're taken care of. Overall a great experience everytime we go!“
“Came here because I was in Tulare and wanted Mexican. They have a drive thru which is super convenient. The food is good. In the order I got Chile verde nachos and Taquitos which have saucy item on top. I asked if they could separate and the staff did a phenomenal job. My food was crispy! Highly recommend. Great food and even better customer service.“
“10/10 this food was delicious! We ordered the carne asada and Al pastor planchadas as well as a pineapple agua Fresca. Everything was perfect and so tasty! The service was excellent--very friendly and the food was made to order. So happy we chose this little spot!“
“I hadn't been here in a while. Now its under new ownership. The place has no ac in it so beware. The staff is nice and cordial. The food is full of flavor and freshly made. The salsa has a nice kick in it. So if you can't handle spicy, not sure what to tell you. I will be back for sure.“
“Service is great makes you feel like your at your tias restaurant they check up often they make sure everything is great to your likingVery great amount of space and room kid friendly also a pool table for the adults music playing so it isn’t so quiet makes the vibe more outgoing the menchilada man that mf was great ? recommend it I had 3 for myself first time here and will be returning the sea food was amazing haven’t got around to the pizza or Italian section of the menu yet but it’s great options and very clean environment“
“It's rare when I travel from the East Bay to Tulare but whoever I do I HAVE to stock up on 1 chicken burrito and 5-6 bags of pan dulce! It's just that good! I don't get more than 1 burrito because it's so filling that you only need 1. Plus, it tastes the Absolute best right when it's made not gonna lie. If you're in the area I would highly recommend you go. And if you're there in the summer, try their agua frescas. They're to die for as well!!“
“Tried this place taco Tuesday style. They have special pricing for TT. Service was really nice and the restaurant was clean and well maintained. For the food, I had tacos rice and beans. Carnitas was the best meat, grade: B+, Al Pastor was a D and Carne Asada was a C-. It almost seemed like the Pastor and Asada were reheated. Not a lot of flavor in the asada overall. The handmade tortillas were a real plus and the rice and beans were on point. A nice place to go, I just need more time to find the A+ item. Try the Carnitas.“
“This place is great!!!! Great food !!! Great service!!! Not sure why the rating is low but I disagree! The restaurant is cute and the ambiance is perfect! I'm very judgmental of with Mexican food because I cook Mexican food and this food is very authentic to a home cooked meal! Thank you to the employees they are amazing and super friendly!“
“Ahh yess. They were somewhat closed when I arrived due to it being slow. I was still welcomed in. So I messed up and left my phone at the bar. Good times, great vibe, and awesome staff. They all left me a nice pic rom my phone lol. Thanks Jose and everyone here tonight. I’ll definitely be back!“
“This place has a wide selection of tasty entrees. Service is great. Truck parking is available. That was the seller for me because I'm a truck driver and I deliver and pick up from SAPUTO Cheese (just down the street.)Vegetarian options: They make dishes that don't contain meat.Kid-friendliness: Family orientedParking: Truck parking availableWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance and exit“
“Muy buena la comida, bueno el servicio, buena música, un lugar no nuevo pero agradable. Tortillas echas a mano, están perfectas, no como las de algunos lugares (El Colima) que ni saben como hacerlas. Los precios son decentes. Muy recomendó este lugar.“
“This is by far the best Mexican food in Tulare. This is a family run business and it shows. The staff is friendly and always welcoming. The food is always consistent and delicious. The restaurant is also always clean. It is always my go to when I am craving Mexican food.“
“It was a hole in the wall spot but my husband and I like places like this. We wanted to try their tacos and he got asada and I got cabeza. The asada was a little dry but had lots of flavor. The cabeza melted in your mouth which I absolutely love! Their salsas were amazing especially their avocado one...really good flavor! Customer service was excellent! Will definitely be going back soon“
“Food had good flavor. I got the Camarones y Pulpo al Coronel. I am not big on Micheladas, but that michelada had good taste. My wife got the Camarones El Rey, and she said it was good as well. Daughter didnt really care for the chicken nuggets. Service was good. The lady was nice. Business seemed a little slow, so it was chill inside.“
