“Tucked inside The Station Liquor & Deli is The Taco Station. The tacos were legit. My son and I shared Carne Asada, Pollo, Cecina and nopales, Birria and Lengua. Everyone of them was flavorful and plentiful. Red and green salsa were not too crazy spicy and paired well with all of them. Little touches, like grilled onions and charred peppers were a welcome addition. Perfect stop before or after visiting Roger Dunn ( who we would like to thank for the recommendation!!) 🤤

“We got the fruit plate with chili. The person working the register just kept giving me better and better ideas. He told me I could get the yogurt sauce of a Bionico on the side, and he offered for me to substitute the bananas if I wanted. I can’t wait to go back again and try more menu items.“

“Prices are great, especially on Taco Tuesdays, and the food we usually get—fish and shrimp tacos, horchata or Jamaica, and fried ice cream—is pretty good! The fish tacos come with a nice white sauce, too. I forgot to add that the amount in your taco for the price cannot be beat in this area.

Parking is in a busy and very tight strip mall, and can be difficult to find when it's busy, and the restaurant gets pretty crowded. The doors also open (both ways) very close to the register, which can make the entrance difficult to navigate with small children. I'd try to pull up close & leave kids in car for take out orders.

They do have outdoor seating, which is nice for good-weather days, but the tables aren't consistently cleaned and the seating is pretty basic. One time my son wanted to eat there rather than wait, and the back tables were littered with food & beer cans from a group that had already left. We waited a few mins & were able to find another table that I wiped down myself, but the next group had to find staff and wait for them to clear the beer cans.

I think having one additional staff member during the busiest times could make a difference. The employees look a bit overwhelmed with busy rush or when crowded, and they only have one register. Someone helping with tables and orders could really improve the experience.

Overall, it's a small, popular spot with decent food at a good price. Especially on Tuesdays. If you're planning to eat there, I recommend ordering ahead and going at a less busy time. I would happily add another star if the outdoor seating were kept cleaner and they found some matching chairs or were a little better maintained.

But for takeout or judging just on food alone, it is worth it.“

“My family is Muslim and we ordered some food from Taco Chico yesterday and forgot to ask if they use lard in their refried beans and tortillas (they do). The woman who answered my phone call was SO kind, extremely apologetic and offered to make us food without lard, to educate the staff, etc. Personally, I feel it’s on us to ask as I’m sure most patrons do not have dietary restrictions and said so. Either way, I don’t think I’ve experienced such exceptional customer service in my life. Despite our order containing lard..the food was FIRE. Definitely will be coming back! 💯💯💯“

“Spanish speaking establishment serves Mexican + (Salvadoran?) food. Chips and salsa are really tasty. Some worker gentlemen suggested the wet burrito (mojado) con carnitas. The menu was a home printed pictures of the food which looked really well prepared. Not surprising then the food comes out looks just like the pictures and tasting as good as it looks. “I purchased a Turkey Loaf Meal, at the Whole Food Market, at the District, Tustin, CA. I want to commend the Cashier, Alex and her Supervisor, Katie. The container used for the meal was not beneficial, because, the lid did not stay secure and as a result, the food was exposed to the shopping cart. Alex attempted to secure the container with tape, but, to no avail. I expressed my frustration to Katie and she demonstrated excellent customer service and provided me with a fresh meal and reusable bag which was ideal. The Whole Foods Market, at the District, Tustin, California, has 2 outstanding Employees, which are Assets, to the Establishment and they need to be recognized. Katie should be rewarded, financially, too. I am a very grateful and satisfied Customer and Consumer.“
