“The sandwiches have gotten where there is less meat in them for 11.99 a sandwich they used to loaded with pastrami when my family first started eating here in 1987 but no longer also love the chili fries and the gravy fries and the price was much cheaper in 1987“

“Wow! That's the one word I would use to describe Connal's. The atmosphere, food, and service were top-rate. The restaurant has a 50's feel and the food has the same vibe, very large portions. I can not emphasize how delicious the food was. We had the breakfast plater, chicken sandwiches, and BLT with onion rings.

“Had this for dinner last night with some friends after hearing about this place online and it was honestly as good as In N Out is, but with much better fries! The double cheeseburger was really good, the fries were much better than I expected and were seasoned pretty well. There wasn't even a line when we ordered the food, and the price was really reasonable for everything we got! I'll definitely be back! They have been around forever and I can definitely see why that is! Please don't change a thing!“

“My husband and I have been to The Back Abbey in Claremont, but we recently came to the one in Upland for the first time.

We came during the weekend when they have their brunch menu available. A plus for us is that they have an outdoor patio that's dog friendly. We arrived a little after 10:00am with two of our dogs. We were immediately greeted and told that we could pick any table we wanted.

There's actually a very nice view from the outdoor patio. We were trying to eat a little cleaner after the holidays so we both got water and both ordered the Steak Salad ($18.00) and added avocado for an additional charge. The Steak Salad comes with grilled beef tenderloin, mixed greens, peppadew peppers, red onions, and feta cheese dressed in sun-dried tomato vinagrette. It was very good.

Our server checked on us several times, refilled our waters, and asked if our dogs wanted a water bowl. They had a lot of items on their brunch menu that sounded really good so next time, I will have to try more items.“

“Talk about a hidden gem! I see this place all the time and decided to give it a try today. Beyond my expectations! I ordered shrimp fajitas and had a special request to replace the beans and rice with a salad and it was no problem. They also had a very delicious and spicy red salsa, if you love spicy you must try. Very accommodating, friendly service and clean atmosphere. I will definitely be a regular!“

“The burger was fresh, hot, tender and tasty. The fries actually tasted like potatoes and were very well-made.
Sandra was a fantastic ambassador as she patiently explained and illustrated what you do best.
It was a way above average vibe for 12 dollar lunch.

“Just wanted a small basic cheeseburger. Unfortunately the gentleman could not hear me at the speaker. Too much car noise from traffic. He asked for me to pull to the window. Gave him my order. Paid, and got my food. Easy peasy. It was very quick and he was very nice.“

“I've come to this location quite a bit at every time of day (not all in one day). I always get great service. Getting a quick breakfast before teaching 9th and then 12th graders was always enjoyable. The employees were kind and the food was good.

There manager (Lita I believe) was accommodating when an error was made and let me talk about my distaste for chocolate shakes. Very patient, which is greatly appreciated. I may be only ~25, but I just ramble on anywhere I go.

There's also a man who works very quickly (very noticeable) that I see sometimes. He's nice and makes you feel certain that my food and shakes are on the way.

I don't have bad experiences here, the quality is what I expect and I always appreciate everyone's effort and kindness.

“Took waaaaaay longer than a 'fast food' joint should take, staff looked like they didn't want to be there, and kept waving my change and items as if I was wasting their time. Though they did upgrade my drink for the wait, its not enough to make me want to come back

Update 3/9/25: They have significantly improved its service and haven't had an incorrect order since giving it another chance.“

“Food is always great. Just has gotten a little bit pricey, but so had everything else in the world. Lady who took my order had a funky attitude but other than that it's a great fast food restaurant.

Parking: Plenty of parking spots all the time.

Kid-friendliness: Nothing there to entertain children. Atmosphere is dreary.
