I absolutely adore this place. Magnificent servers, atmosphere & food. Noted servers that are amazing (so far) are Ginger, Mikel & Jordan. This night I came out, is my birthday & our server this time was Jordan. His service was outstanding.I went from being incredibly sad that my family did not show up to my birthday dinner, not quite noticing the Mariachi band asking who's birthdays there were until it was too late, to Jordan somehow catching that I didn't inform them & to my surprise, I hear them acknowledge me, then proceed to sing me happy birthday! Greatest thing ever. He also insisted on keeping my candles lit on my dessert for proper birthday pictures even though the air running made it a slight challenge. Tell me why this man knows how to take such good photos?! How rare! Thanks a million! My night was absolutely turned around. I wanted to give him a big hug! Thank you to all of the workers for doing such a phenomenal job with the food & service!Thanks to the Mariachi band, Santa Monica, for feeding my soul with such beautiful music & raw talent ♡ I was delighted to be able to successfully request a song to hear them play.An extra tip - if it's on slower days without events & less staff, don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't want to be -too- patient. It's always best to find reassurance before you decide to be "left with a bitter taste". They will be happy to assist you with your concerns. ?Vegetarian options: Squash Blossoms, Fried Quesadilla, Chille Relleno, Tortilla chips with 4 different dips, ect.
We loved seeing a Oaxacan menu in a high end setting! The restaurant has a beautiful, modern design that makes a great atmosphere to host a party or to impress your date! We got the aguachile and the taste of Oaxaca shareable plate. The aguachile was just fine, I would wish that the shrimp was cut into more fine pieces, cured more in lime, and served with more tostadas on the side. The taste of Oaxaca was a great plate for a first time customer, next time we will get the taquitos the flavor was delicious and we will get a stack of the fresh made corn tortillas! This is a unique spot in Santa Clarita, definitely give it a try!

food is great, when it comes out on time. the mole is superb. as with most other reviews, they need MORE STAFF, front of house, back of house, bussers, cooks, washers, they need more support. i've been to madre's three times. twice for brunch, and once for dinner, all times the waitstaff was very overworked and the food came out so slowly. i've sent back food, bc it was sitting and not even hot... i do want this place to succeed, but they really really need to hire more help.

I am 62 years old and I have never been charged for chips and salsa. And not a nominal charge, 17 dollars. It’s not the matter of money it’s the principle of the matter. They will lose business over this and will not even know why, unless they realize this is not the proper way to gain loyalty.

My mom lives nearby and so we went together for brunch. It was delicious! The mole was excellent. The atmosphere is lovely and the interior design was beautiful. They had live music while we were there which was special. A full mezcal tasting menu. I love to see Mexican culture celebrated like this in Valencia. It also feels like a different vibe than anything I’ve seen available in the area (in the best way).

This has quickly become our go-to restaurant in Valencia! Ivan and his team provide not only delicious food but excellent service. The stuffed squash blossom island the carne asada are my fav dishes. The outdoor patio is where you want to sit, especially for special occasions.
The menu is true Mexican cuisine and not fancy border food. Thank goodness we had a waiter who was both engaging and knowledgeable. He recommended a dish made of four separate and distinct mole enchiladas that was absolutely delicious! He also suggested a Mexican beer that paired perfectly even though this young man didn't appear old enough to be of drinking age or just barely. I believe his name was Michael, and he was fluent in Spanish. Also, the chips and salsa(s) were on another level! Expensive comparatively but worth it if you want a culinary adventure in SCV. The only negative was the table lighting: so dark I was using my phone to see the menu, so great service really helped. We will be back to try the Mezcals for sure!
The food was just ok. Very expensive for what you get. It's very dark inside at night. I don't need glasses, but I couldn't read the menu without a flashlight. My margarita was good but expensive. Everything was a la carte. We had enchiladas, they don't come with rice or beans. Queso came with 3 tortillas, we asked for more and they charged $3. You pay for chips and salsa. Definitely not worth it.

Fantastic restaurant. Ordered to-go to give it a try and this will be our go-to date spot moving forward. Makes me sad so many people voted 1-star the week it opened. Give a new business a break! Some of the best flavors I’ve had in years. The interior is also gorgeous. So happy to have this incredible establishment in the SCV.

Food was great. Happy hour prices were very agreeable, and I liked all the food and drinks we got. Tacos were delicious.Service is absolutely atrocious. If happy hour patrons are confined to the bar and the lounge with basically one or two waitstaff in attendance, they’re waiting 30 minutes per request. We didn’t even get menus, and the place wasn’t even busy yet. The restaurant is extremely understaffed at the bar. It was unfortunate, because the food really was very good, but we couldn’t wait another hour to order more food.

Terrible waiter, just awful!! We had a large party, waiter took forever to take our order, skipped over people, left for several minutes and came back. Argued with me that he skipped over me taking orders. The restaurant has a dumb rule about only taking a certain amount of credit cards and ONLY evenly splitting them. The service overall was so slow. Inaccurate. Good mediocre. Drinks 7/10. I asked him to pull one couple’s orders onto a separate check and he left them on the main check and blamed me for it?!? It was dumb and annoying all around. All around not impressed.
