“I know the place is under a new owner and this is my first time getting takeout from them in general. The food was very hot when I picked up. I only got orange chicken and fried rice because it's just me eating for dinner. I wish there was a dinner combo. Additionally, I would like if there were some things in the fried rice aside from a tiny bit of scrambled egg, some frozen peas and carrots with a bit of onion would do the trick. Flavor of the orange chicken is great. Making the rice more interesting would keep me coming back. I'll come again and try different things.“
“Best won ton soup around!! I'm so glad I found this restaurant when searching for won ton soup one day. It is truly the best won to soup I have ever tried; very tasty and packed with won tons and veggies. I was definitely willing to try more dishes after that, and did! I have my family hooked on their food. Every time I call, they answer. I have ordered for pick up and for delivery. They're fast and always have been very friendly. I will continue to order from them and hope others give them a try as well.“
“This was one of the two places i visited on new year's and by far the better of the two restaurants! So happy with their lu rou fan!!! Realmy brings me back to taiwan. The other dishes: dumplings, tantan noodles were on par with what I've eaten in Taipei and Tainan, and dare I say better. The only difference being the price, nearly 10x, but that's the reality of living in LA.My friends were happy as well, and it was a great way to introduce some of them to my culture as well. Thank you Pine and Crane!“
“Xiao long bao is excellent. Beef noodles are flavored just right. Beef is very tender. Noodle texture is perfect. Braised pork belly is very yummy. One suggestion is to slice the pork belly thinner. It's hard to eat a large chunk and get all the layers.“
“AMAZING Expect waiting outside, party of 2 was 20-25 min Saturday afternoon and cannot call in to be added to it. Everything on the menu is great but the French toast, pork belly fried rice, and strawberry tea were the best. Limited seating and one restroom but highly recommend.“
“The food was so authentic it stunned my mom. I've never seen her so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant. It's hard to find dishes like Liangpi and Big Plate Chicken outside of China, and even if you can the flavors are often diluted. The noodles here were perfectly chewy, the stew in the BPC was rich and thick (rivaling Dolan's even). And the prices aren't bad at all. We'll be coming here again, and exploring their other locations too.“
“We have just discovered this place, it is really appreciable that it is halal and offers great flavors from Chinese and Thai cuisines. Especially try the Mongolian, Chow Mein, and Tom Yum Soup. The staff is friendly and the service is very fast“
“2024 update: dined in for the first time and was underwhelmed with the food. Chickpea curry is decent, kaya toast is decent. The dan dan noodles are straight up not good! Extremely salty and fatty. Skipped dessert (unheard of for me) because the main dishes already made me feel so heavy and unhealthy.2022 takeout review: The laksa is incredible. It is easily two meals (can serve two people). I'm not a spice person and this was at the upper end of my spice tolerance but not too spicy. A side of clay oven bread is really good to dip in it. My only complaint was I ordered takeout and my order was ready 15 minutes later than the original estimate.“
“I’ve eaten here a few times, both dine in and delivery. The kebabs are always amazing. The spice mix is truly incredible. If you dine in, you make an order on a mobile site (via a QR code on the table) that lets your whole party add to the order and see what everyone else has ordered — it’s very convenient for a full table where you plan to eat family style!“
“I absolutely love this restaurant. It's a must stop for my daily when we are in town. Food is amazing and super cheap. The staff always remembers us when we come back.Parking: Parking lot in the back and parking on the street. Both are free.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and boosters provided.“
“This is a good karaoke spot with typical prices for K-town but actually friendlier & more personable staff than most! The system with the drinks minimum is what it is, when I'm not in the mood for an extravagant alcohol soaked party I just go to the mall in little Tokyo, but this spot is nice for that classic Korean karaoke atmosphere. I also wanted to make a comment referencing some negative reviews talking about "escorts". Korean karaoke bars do not allow escorts. If you see attractive women wearing heels, they are karaoke hostesses, and their job is to sing and bring a celebratory atmosphere for parties that are looking for that. Calling them escorts is just misogynistic and kind of xenophobic honestly.“
“Walked in hoping for the best and plan to return whenever I can! Kelvin the manager was great on making recommendations and is very hospitable. Appreciate how attentive he was to our groups needs! Everything about the place is top notch! Def recommend!“
“Known for their highly Instagrammable "Magic Noodles" that turn from blue to purple when you add their sauce. Fun and pretty decent meal with good sized prawns for protein. We also got their Drunken Noodles. A little smaller for the portion comparatively, but overall good flavor. They also have a brunch menu and Bottomless Mimosas for $25 wirh a 90 minute time limit! Pretty good deal and you can walk to the West Hollywood bars from here. Service was good and definitely kept our glasses filled! Ambiance is a little dated, but still cute.“
“Perfect ten for a sit down relaxed dining experience. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was hot and delicious , the atmosphere was relaxed and clean,…all at a reasonable price. Thanks!☺️Vegetarian options: I loved the eggplant with garlic sauce.“
“MIAN is a wonderful place for some really good food. There are great selections and the menu will satisfy all dietary requirements. The Crispy Half Chicken is great and the Spicy Beef Noodle is a can’t miss dish. This is a place that you will want to go back to again and again to taste everything on the menu.“
“This was my first time back in several years and my boyfriend’s first time as well!! Immediately we were greeted, sat promptly and had an excellent server names Asia. She was super sweet, knowledgeable and just over all the nicest server ever! Definitely will be coming back. Good job guys!“
“I moved her about a week ago and Uncle John's was one of the first places I stopped at and I now have to look no further for anything else. I get coffee here every day and have had two of their lunch boxes (today was bbq pork w sesame cold noodles, minus a few bites I took before the photo) for only $8 and what great portions and quality they give you. The place is always filled with people eating and talking, customer service is the best. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!“
“I always have a good experience with your food.Just one advice, the pork dumplings this time were not good, please do something about. You still deserve 5 stars.Parking: I prefer to use street parking because their parking is most of the time packed.“
“The size of everything is double the size of normal dim sum. Their portion size is crazy be careful how much you order! Food is made to order! Comes out piping hot!! The food is 100% authentic. So delicious HUGE! Great jasmine tea. Funny and friendly staff. Clean inside. We had sooo much left overs. Plenty of seating. AC. I will definitely come back again. Again. And again.“
“The good : I love how they went for a chic yet street food aesthetic for their restaurant. I think it really emulates Chinese food which definitely plays into the experience of eating here. The portions and platings were very good and we were able to try many dishes. With that said I think the food was just okay. The Mid : Maybe it's because I am Chinese so I've tasted better Chinese food before so that's why I wasn't super impressed. I will say tho I really liked the fried rice because they added the Chinese sausage to it which makes the taste really authentic keke. There definitely is better and Chinese food in the LA area because they definitely are a western twist. but I do think the ambiance makes up for the lack of an oomph factor in the flavors and I also wish they cut back on the oil a little.“
“You know a spot is good when the only menu displayed has faded photos of various dishes with no descriptions or dish titles. Only the real ones know. Every time I come here, I meet a local who’s been coming here since the 80s or 90s and it is so comforting to know that a place like this exists. Love the food, owner, consistency, quality, and history of this place.Run by one guy and one guy only, make sure to be patient while waiting for your order if it gets packed, maybe clean up the tables around you while you wait. Doesn’t hurt to help.“
“Has the potential to be the best Chinese food in the valley but they suffer from terrible inconsistencies. Dining in is really your only option as delivery is often cold and mushy. Lunch is great! Dinner, (same dishes), not so much. The bearded waiter is definitely a &$£€ and not cut out to be a service person. He definitely takes away from the dining experience which is a shame because dining in gets you far superior food to their takeout.“
“Visited my daughter at UCLA. We wanted Asian food and headed to Sawtelle. Walked up and down the street and saw many places that looked inviting. We settled on Dan Modern Chinese because we saw dim sum on some tables that looked good. We ordered soup dumplings, dumplings, bok choy and noodles. The dumplings were very good and the noodles and bok choy were decent. I would come back for dumplings but would pass on the noodles. If you crave dim sum, this place will satisfy your craving but dont expect much from the noodles. Noodles were thick and chewy with a gravy like sauce. Homemade noodles but not the best.“
“My favorite, go-to Thai food in LA and the best krapow on the west side. Better than any other kra-pow I’ve found here by a mile. Noodles are amazing. Always nice and extremely fast service, very reasonable prices. Every once in a while I’ll try somewhere new and I always come back here.“
“Yummy Cantonese Chinese food: NO MSG!What a cozy joint- so glad we found this hole in the wall in Chinatown :). It’s family run and the owner and server were both so warm and down to earth! They pride themselves in NOT using MSG in their food and make an effort to reduce the use of salt/oil. I loved their Chicken Porridge (congee) which is often a difficult dish to find in Chinese restaurants, and their Salt & Pepper squid was so delicious! The restaurant fills up quickly as it’s a small operation, but you won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to be back :)Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs :)“
“I don't have a picture. The fried sweet and sour pork was crispy until the end of the meal. There was liver in the meat, but it seemed like it was caught. It was quite delicious and there was a lot of it. I liked that the jjajang wasn't too sweet... but the sweet and sour pork was really delicious. Recommend this place!“
“By far the best Chinese food that I have ever had. You know it’s good when you see how many Asians eat there. Portions are smaller. Prices are higher. But they good news is they finally they take credit cards!Dietary restrictions: Can be a little high in sodium. So ask for no MSG if it bothers you. Or just drink lots of water. ?“
“I just want to say that I’ve been eating at this restaurant for many years, always been happy with the taste of the food and the great service I receive. My server Jen was outstanding and manager Kim has always been great to me.Thank you for being the best.“
“This was my first order from here. I could just tell that they do care about their customers. I love Pad Thai I know it's like the most basic thing but not everyplace can hit it. Everytime I order through Postmates or door dash from different places that would be only 15 mins away, The Pad Thai would just get so dry and got no flavor when it gets to me eventho there would be a request saying "please make it extra saucy" no one seemed to ever listen. But Delish Thai Kitchen CAME THROUGH with the extra saucy and so much flavor. And they even left me a note I really do appreciate that you did that. Thank you Gonna be my favorite place to order from now.“
“The food is authentic Cantonese Chinese food. It’s freshly made to order. The flavor is scrumptious. My Mom and Dad went there before I was even conceived. Now Iv taken my family. The decor has never changed nor been upgrade or kept up. Visually it’s unpleasing and very tight space. It’s a hole in the wall. If you only care about the food then definitely come here.Kid-friendliness: Your kids can be rowdy lol..“
“P.F. Chang's never fails to impress with its flavorful and authentic Asian cuisine. The Mongolian Beef is a personal favorite – tender beef, crisp green onions, and just the right amount of heat. Pair it with their signature Chang's Spicy Chicken for a perfect meal!“
“I took my Korean friends to eat Malatang, and we all thought it was delicious. The taste was good but a little salty. We also ordered the fragrant pot and rice. This store has a water purifier, which is quite convenient for self-service drinking:)“
“The most kind staff! It’s no wonder this place is busy - my friend and I had the best time here and I look forward to returning. Special shout out to Jared who made us feel welcome and to our bartender in the back room who was so lovely - I think her name started with an E. 10/10“
“I stop here sometimes in the morning before work to get donuts for everyone. They're so good. It's just a woman and her husband and both of them are super nice and super helpful. I went in today with a friend of mine to get lunch and it was really good, really filling and affordable. The woman working seems to really care about the customers and will talk to them and remember little bits about them. If you're ever in Silverlake you have to stop here. Q“
“I've been coming here for the last 5 years. The portions are great and the soups are to die for. My go-to soup is the Liuzhou soup. Just a heads up, the establishment definitely caters to a majority Chinese crowd, so you know the food is legit. Be respectful and keep an eye out for your order number as they will probably announce it in Mandarin first lol“
“Solid dim sums close to UCLA! This is my first time seeing fried red oil wontons and they blew my mind! Each wonton comes with generous amount of shrimp in it and they're so juicy they squirted when I bit into them! The outside is thin and crispy, and the red ou drizzled on top is flavorful and aromatic. The chive dumplings are solid too. The soup dumplings however disappoint. Their skin is too thick and lack chewiness. Also it's a red flag that they come in tin foil cups. The service is ok and the ambiance is honestly bad because they're all outdoor seating right next to the roadside without any decoration. I think the items are slightly overpriced considering that they all come in plastic containers and disposable utensils and packet dressing.“
“I was in Ktown and needed a quick lunch. I've been meaning to stop here and so glad I did. I got the chicken teriyaki bento box. It was huge and well worth the price point. The chicken was some of the best I've had (nice and charry from the grill), the Cali roll that was included was very fresh too. It definitely made for two meals. There is parking in a garage next to the building which is huge for Ktown. Also the branding is cute and the place was very new and clean. My cashier was very nice as well!“
“Vegetarian options: I really love this place it’s so amazing . I also love to eat noodles from this specific place . Owner is so nice and kind . Noodles and fried rice are so delicious. They have good vegetarian options too along with non vegetarian. That’s my favorite place for Chinese food . Love it ??“
“I'm giving this a 4 because it's good for Chinese fast food, probably more of a 3.5 but we can't do that, the food quality is not the best but the taste is good with everything being moist and juicy, I live off of Sepulveda and Devonshire so it wasn't something I will not be going to much because of distance but had to try it and was pleased with it.“
“BEST CHINESE TAKEOUT IN LOS ANGELES! My favorite dish is their Crispy Honey Shrimp With Walnuts. Another must have is their Chicken Dumpling Potstickers. I love their Sweet and Sour Pork as well as their Moo Shoo Pork. Almost forgot about the Spicey Crispy Beef. The food has so much flavor and its prep is very consistent. I have always grabbed my food to-go. Check them out!“
“For friendly Fast Food this is a great spot. I highly recommend you try their orange chicken. I got Combo A half chow mein, half fried rice with Orange Chicken, all for just $8! They offer Thai Iced Tea also, which I'm going back tomorrow to try! :)“
“Theyre have your basic Chinese fast food needs the first Chinese food spot ive ever come in contact with that has curry and white rice on deck good portions and noodles beat panda expresses any day all the food honestly!! my go to lunch spot support small business not corporations.Vegetarian options: noodles white rice steamed veggies on deck“
“This is one of the best restaurants we know of. Not only is the food fantastic, but the owners and staff are amazing people. They are very kind and considerate, and very willing to accommodate large groups, or an occasional special request, etc. We've had several larger groups events catered by them as well and they are terrific to work with about these. And let me mention again how good the food is! They have a big menu and we've never had a dish that didn't look and taste great. It's not just Chinese food but they have some other Asian dishes as well.“
“The Guobao Pork is delicious; the colorful pulled pork is also good, but a bit sweet; the barbecue tastes good, but a bit expensive! The store is not big, so you will most likely have to queue up; the food is served quite quickly; the two of them ate over 100“
“I love this place. I work nearby. I go there 2-3 times a week for lunch break. For what you pay for you get very large portions. So much better than Panda Express. The staff is very friendly. If you work close to Hollywood and Gower or are a tourist, please come to Maxim Chinese Food. Good price for what you get.“
“Such great Chinese food! I'm glad they're open on Tuesdays now. I usually get pick up for Chicken Fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, or Shanghai noodles. The food is always perfect and delicious. Today though... I ordered SnS Chicken and when I went to pick it up they had told me they are no longer mixing the sauce in because it gets soggy. I love it soggy!! And it's not even soggy. Just a perfect sauce mix ratio. So who ever complained about it being soggy... you just ruined it!!! I'll order it next time and ask that the sauce is mixed in.“
“We were craving fried rice and chow mein and found this on Google. Everyone got what they wanted, and when they say 3, they actually mean 4♥️ Excellent service! Delicious food!♥️ My only regret is not ordering more. Definitely coming here when we visit Cali again.“
“Very good Korean/Northern Chinese food, especially their Mongolian beef. Their jjajangmyun is also quite good, but not salient. The good part is that this restaurant is consistent, so you know there will be very few surprises. This is a go to place when I just want to eat and go. Parking is behind the restaurant (Valet).Kid-friendliness: This is a loud place, with vigorous conversations...thus kids will blend in fine with the atmosphere.Parking: Often easy to park.“
“Ordered for delivery directly through the restaurant and they deliver it themselves like the old days very cool. Delicious food. Classic chinese food at fair prices. Just got the standards to get an idea but so far the family approves. Kids DEVOURED combination chow mein, they're hard to please. Other dishes orange chicken, black pepper beef, and egg rolls. Everything was tasty, not overly greasy, hot and fresh on arrival. Beef was very tender and chicken pieces were a little on the small side but actually white meat and NO gristle at all. Decent amount of shrimp in the combination chow mein, overall meat level was above average. Showed up slightly earlier than promised, friendly driver, can't wait to try other dishes.“
“I was really sad when chengdu closed because I had been going there for years and loved it. I gave this spot a try a few months ago and while I do still miss it, at least this is still better than any other Chinese place I’ve found in the valley. Chengdu had a bigger menu, so while there are some things I can no longer get, this place does the basics well.“
