Q: Who makes the best salmon in Southern California? A: The Friar Cafe makes the best salmon in southern California. When it comes to the best salmon in SoCal two other contenders, Bacari PDR and Hyatt Regency San Diego, immediately come to mind but, the portions are smaller and their cost is way higher. Plus, they don't have a sauce that comes close to this perfectly understated lemon burre blanc that seems to eccentuate the ample cuts that comes in an order from Friar Cafe. It's not just the sauce that's good, no. I've tried the salmon without the sauce on it, yes, it tastes heavenly on its own. The salmon is always perfectly seared with a crusty top, a tender, juicy middle, and each bite is just full of flavor. The best part is the skin. It has a crispy texture that remains true even when drenched in the blanc sauce. They could sell the skin alone as an appetizer and I wouldn't even be mad. Speaking of sides. It comes with Brussels' sprouts, asparagus, and scallop potatoes. I also went ahead and got a delicious cucumber salad to go with it. I'm sad that I finished eating it. Every savory bite was better than the last. I look forward to my next order. I'm gonna take a nap.

So I came to this spot because I wanted a steak for dinner. First when I called they never picked up, found it strange and I did it at three random times when they were supposedly open. This spot doesn't exist, unless I got the wrong location. It is some random building. Everyone on the reviews is talking about the take out but the pictures tell you differently. The pictures look like it is for dining in.

Had the food delivered so can't speak to the location or presentation but the food didn't disappoint! Ordered the chicken ravioli and filet mignon. The filet was cooked to a perfect med rare. Will definitely order from here again!

Great to have such high quality food while working at an office space in the same building but if I lived around here I'd get their food pretty often really really fast food would highly recommend if you want something gourmet. Great food for great price for sure!

Love this place! Always healthy food, I usually order salmon or some white fish with rice and vegetables. Sauce they make is amazing. I have tried quesadilla and avocado toast, big portions, so tasty. Thank you for your food!

So I order from here almost every week. Hugo is a great cook, excuse me chef! Everything he makes is delicious, I'm not kidding. Sometimes I just call him and tell him to make me whatever he thinks is best, that's how much I trust him LOL. He makes all his own sauces and everything is top notch. Today I got the crane asada tacos and seriously was impressed. So good, highly recommend!
