Sugar Lab absolutely nailed our wedding dessert table dreams! We wanted a small cake that we could cut during cake cutting for our wedding and get photos of but we didn't want a cake big enough to serve our guests. Sugar Lab helped us pick out the most perfect sized cake for my husband and I to cut during our wedding, as well as provided the most delicious mini cupcakes for our guests to enjoy. The banana cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting is INCREDIBLE! Prior to our wedding we picked up a cake tasting box and had sooo much fun trying the many combinations they had to offer. We have talked about that box for months and even discussed getting another one just to eat. Ali and Mickie communicated with us well and always answered all of our questions and concerns quickly. We felt totally at ease and never once worried about our cake or dessert table while wedding planning. We knew we were in great hands with Sugar Lab. They delivered the cake on time and it was stunning! Our guests still remind us how much they loved the mini cupcakes and all of the flavors. small shop with nice and attentive staff. it is located inside the ventura harbor village: * banana foster: 4/5 ~ it is so good but the cream on top is too sweet for me, mostly when you add caramel drizzle becomes double sweet * white chocolate macadamia nut muffin: 5/5 ~ recommended. sweetness is just right and can taste the macadamia nut inside plus the dough is just right, perfecto!!! * sunset drink: 4/5 ~ love it!!! it is so refreshing and still can taste the pineapple and passion fruit, good combination!!! recommended place!!!

I visited SLBS years ago when they were in the Vons shopping center. Went back one day and they were gone. Well, turns out they moved practically to my backyard and I didn't even know. A very cute, clean shop that offers various treats and specialty drinks right in the center of the Ventura Harbor. It was enjoyable to sit and take in the scenery on a nice day while stuffing my face full of 3k calories. The flavor of the raspberry cupcake was good, not too sweet. The kitchen sink cookie was outstanding. The counter person was helpful in navigating the menu and chose my coffee drink for me per my request and it was great. I did go before closing so there wasn't a lot left to choose from... but that's the beauty of a small biz bakery! Get on it first or miss out! They don't have already made cakes for special occasions (you have to custom order) so if that's what you're hoping for, sorry to tell you you're out of luck... but I'm sure you be able to grab some other tasty finds.
