“This past Saturday, November 18th, we spent the day at Rotator Taproom enjoying a beer and pizza, knowing Arf was going to be there with dogs for adoption. Fast forward, we adopted the sweetest little senior chihuahua and named her Amanda Marie. She's adjusted beautifully and our chihuahua Kobe that we rescued 7 years ago is being the best big brother. We are a family of 4 now.The beers were yummy too!!Great day, thank you Rotator Taproom“

“One guy working the whole front of house, but he was really nice and helpful! Just wish he had some help. Cool space but high ceilings and lack of sound deadening meant you couldn't hear much above the screaming kids running around. Got better once they left though. Pizzas were really good! Great dough hole structure and texture. The Calabrian firecracker, while delicious, could probably use a little bit more even dispersal of chili, it got overpowering. Still, would come back here in a heartbeat.“

“First time to 5 Tacos & Beers. They far exceeded my expectation. The service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. Just the right amount of service level. The food is AMAZING. We ordered the Chips and Guac. Soooo good. I got the Flatas De Pollo. My wife got the Quesabirria. I can’t rave enough about the food. We have been looking for a go to Mexican restaurant. Thankfully, we just found it. Everything was absolutely DELISH!!We have also tried Bar Camino. That place doesn’t begin to hold a candle to 5 Tacos. Don’t waste your time trying Bar Camino when you can come here. Food is super salty at Bar Camino anyway. Drinks at 5 Tacos were also spot on. I tried a few different Margs. They know what they are doing.Thank You to the wait staff and chef for being such a delight. We will absolutely be back! Can’t wait to eat here again!!Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options. Waitress pointed them out to us as we were reviewing the menu.Parking: You will need to find street parking or park in a nearby paid meter lot. Weekends are very busy. I’ve always been able to find parking though.“

“As far as the food gores, the Pepperoni Flatbread was delicious and everything one could ask for in such a treat. I had thought I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala naan taco, but was delivered the Chana Masala one instead. Let's just chalk that up to a moderately noisy environment. The naan taco was very good, and I would like to sample more of these creations in the future. The Chai Old-Fashioned was okay, but the burnt cinnamon stick did not really have the smokey impact I wanted. I just think that is the wrong type of thing to add smoke to a cocktail, I guess. The Manhattan, however, was phenomenal! Would highly recommend to anyone who drinks those. The service this particular night was a little slow, and it wasn't until after we ordered our drinks that the server clarified that they are still using the QR code menu for now. The service wasn't pleasant and friendly, just not very attentive.“

Morgan Territory Brewing Brewpubs • $$
40 Crescent Dr Suite B, Pleasant Hill - 2.51 miles

“I’ve been waiting for a high quality, good tasting, family friendly brewery to arrive in the deep east bay ( Martinez, concord, Walnut Creek, Pittsburgh, Dublin etc) to drink at after our family outings in the area and it finally arrived. All the other ones were just not good beer or service. From my understanding this brewery is originally from Tracy and opened this as a second location and all I have to say is thank the hop gods it’s here. Large menu featuring all sorts of beers from IPA more malt flavored, and even traditional German,English, and Scottish. The inside is nice and the local area is very classy and safe. The inside can be a tight squeeze for families and kids but we always see other families there for my kids to play with as well as having a park/ fountain connected right next door and a little outdoor seating area.If you want food there is lots of options nearby that they will allow you to bring in or order on the app but they don’t serve it themselves. The staff is always friendly and has great customer service. This has quickly turned into one of my favorite breweries in such a short time. Highly recommend!“

“We heard about this place a while back and we had been curious about it. It was described as "a pizza place that focuses on pairing beers with pizzas". It is that. But it's also more. This place is another example of being able to taste the food and know it was prepared by someone who is passionate about culinary experiences. We had some good recommendations from our server and everything we tried was a notch above good. There's also the fact that some things on the menu were especially unique and like nothing I had ever tried before. The bread bites with chili lime flavor are a great example. I highly recommend those. We both loved the wings and my wife even went as far as saying she thinks these might be her new favorite wings from anywhere. The pie was also fantastic but they change that monthly? Seasonally? It leaves me excited to try the next one but also potentially sad that this one might go away.It was also nice that Jeff came around and had some conversation with everyone and checked to see how we liked the meal.I read some reviews about the prices being a bit high before we came in and my thought on that is that in this case the cost is worth the value of the experience. We have certainly spent more for worse food at other places. No regrets spending the money here where we get such excellent food.“

“Have been here twice and it's so fun! Really great interior and outside little patio that looks out to Todos Santos Plaza. They have a great rotating selection of beer with lots of different choices - IPAs, lagers, blondes, ciders etc. The staff is really friendly and they have a membership option with your phone number. I really want to check out their Tuesday night trivia and food but so far have had only great beers here! Street parking isn't too bad for a downtown area and surrounding area has lots of food and the park is just across the street too.“

Hillside Tap Room & Eatery Hot Dogs • $
400 Ferry St, Martinez - 8.5 miles

“I finally went to Hillside Martinez Tap Room & Eatery in Martinez. It's right by the Amtrak Station as you enter the Martinez Marina. It's a great spot to watch the trains while you enjoy a sausage, hot link, or dog. You can enjoy one (or two) of their 12 rotating beers, a froze, or a slushy. Today, I tried the peach mango slushy made from scratch with real fruit. It was so good! They're super friendly there; the service was excellent. The remodel made my jaw drop; they did a FANTASTIC job! I opted for the Hillside dog. A hot link topped with sweet relish, onions, jalapeños, mustard, celery salt, cheese, and a dill pickle spear. It was a great dog! The combination of the hot link with pickle spear and pickled jalapeños was so good! Their rolls are excellent; they are so soft and tasty. I learned that they get their bread from a family bakery; they prefer to purchase all of their ingredients in small batches to support other small businesses. I wish they had sub sandwiches on those rolls, too; they're so good! When visiting Hillside Martinez Tap Room & Eatery, you can either build your own custom 1/4 lb. sausage dog or select one of their custom creations. I've read some negative remarks about the pricing, but I think when you factor in the premium ingredients they use, plus those other pesky costs like rent, utilities, staff, etc., they're not extreme. The build-your-own option features seven different sausage options, including hot links, bratwurst, polska kielbasa, Italian, pineapple, cajun or beef frank. Then you pick from 24 different regular topping options included in the sausage's price. The most expensive sausage was $11. The premium toppings like chili, bacon, slaw, grilled onions and peppers, melted cheese, and guacamole are $1-2 each. The specialty dogs range in price from $12-$15.50, including those premium toppings. Heck, the most expensive dog is the Pastrami Dog at $15.50, and it has a 1/4 lb. beef frank, pastrami, grilled onions, and melted cheese; this might be my next dog. When I was leaving I started chatting with the young lady who initially took my order. Turns out it was Casey, the owner. She introduced me to Preston, her partner, the chef, and the guy who did the amazing remodel! She told me they love to work with local businesses; she creates the signage for the rotating taps, and GLT Signs across the street print them, which they source from other small businesses. They use fresh ingredients; she makes all the syrups and ingredients for the slushes and froze. She also said they're looking forward to getting the outdoor space opened for outdoor dining and live music. Really nice local Martinez peeps. Current Hours: Wed-Sun 11am-8pm Menus are in the photos“
