Great food, eventually, but we were too stressed out to enjoy it. Four top with reservations for 6 pm seated immediately, yet food didn't arrive for over an hour! The place was packed due to an event across the street at the arts center beginning at 7:30 pm that we had tickets for, so they either overbooked or were short staffed in the kitchen. We'll return, but make reservations for 5 pm next time, or go elsewhere...there are dozens of good options.

Since the change in ownership, Massimo Restaurant has unfortunately seen a notable decline in service quality, culminating in an incident where a waiter prematurely removed my plate without inquiry, a clear lapse in etiquette. Despite this, the food maintains its high standard, offering flavorsome dishes that hint at the restaurant's former glory. However, the wine selection, while adequate, fails to impress and could benefit from refinement. In its current state, Massimo offers a conflicting experience where exceptional cuisine is marred by disappointing service and an unremarkable wine list.

Amazing "daily specials". Halibut was cooked to perfection. Garlic bread was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and super polite. Just across the street from Lescher Theater and staff was super good about our time constraints.

Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. Our reservation was in order and were seated quickly. Our waiter, Alex was right there to open our bottle of wine and go through the menu. Our choices were delicious finishing our meal with a cappuccino and a cream brûlée. Great evening.

We did not have a reservation but they made a table available for us on a very busy Saturday night.Service was good....Italian Menu mainly.The wine list is very good with a wide variety to choose from .Reasonable pricing.Parking: Park in the Public parking garage and just walk across the street.

Classic Walnut Creek restaurant that does not dissapoint. Haven't been here since 2010 but the food is still good and services from Jose was excellent. I had the Linguini Massimo and my wife had the crab ravioli special which were very good. Prices are on the higher side, but there is plenty of staff - which is nice to see in today's labor market. It was very busy when we arrived at 7:15 but the place cleared out by 8pm since many diners went across the street to the Lesher theatre. So if you want to enjoy a more quiet experience, book a table on the later side.

As birthday dinners go, this was a memorable one! Caprese salad, pan seared salmon and risotto, a great cabernet, and a gelato trio to wrap up the experience.... mmm mmm mmm... loved it all and we are for sure coming back to try everthing on the menu!

Massimo Ristorante is fantastic; however, we were seated in the banquet room, rather than the main restaurant. The lack of ambience in that seating area significantly diminished what otherwise would have been a five star experience.
The halibut special was great. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The place is beautiful.
