The meat to rice ratio was perfect for my preference. The place is simplistic and clean. Random, but it was fun to see the steam rise from the clay pots every so often inside, and it feels like a huge humidifier. No issues at all with the service, our waitress was very kind to explain how to pick out and order the clay pot combos.“

This Tofu Bean is owned by the same great owner of the Tofu Bean of Rowland Heights. Their Banchan (side dishes) are the best. The potato side dish and kimchi are my favorites. When you order a combination, the tofu soup is the same size as the regular tofu soup orders. Check them out - I highly recommend.“

The place feels family owned and operated and this was reflected in the friendly, warm service. I came in on a cold evening, looking for some warm soup. So I ordered the beef noodle soup. I ended choosing the thinner, hand stretched noodles (as apposed to the thicker knife cut variety), because it seemed like it would go better in the soup. The noodles were very well done and chewy. Great texture to go along with the comforting spicy broth. I also ordered fish and leek dumplings. Great flavor and structure. I took most to go because the two dishes I ordered was a lot of food. I enjoyed the vibe here. While I was eating, there were two ladies preparing dumplings off to the side. It reminded me of my mom and aunt when I visit my parents. So there was a nostalgic factor. Like a lot of other restaurants in the area that I really enjoy, this place feels like a great value for delicious noodles and dumplings because of their great selection and very reasonable prices.“

The restaurant was clean and modern looking inside, and the food was phenomenal. It was a healthy, lighter option compared to some other spots in the area. The broth is nice and brown like it should be, not oily, and super flavorful. Came in, seated right away. Friendly service. Open seating area, well lit, and clean. Service was prompt and friendly. They played OLD SCHOOL Cantonese music, which was nice. Seriously feels very Hong Kong. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, and asked for roast duck. Very tasty. Good portion, and they gave us the "good part" of duck, not the bone and inedible pieces. I ordered the chicken steak with egg. It came with pasta noodle soup with luncheon meat, which was typical nothing special soup. However, I didn't expect it, so it was a nice addition. The broth was very light and felt good on a cold morning. There's a special breakfast menu. You can add on various dishes from anywhere from $1-$5, so we opted to add on curry fish ball ($4). It was good! PLENTY of food, so we took some home. Oh, and both our dishes came with a free drink (lemon iced tea, coffee, or HK style milk tea). Overall, I think we found our new HK breakfast cafe that actually opens "early." 0900 is early for West Covina standards. Otherwise, we would have to drive over to Rosemead, El Monte, Alhambra, San Gabriel, or Monterey Park for Asian food that opens earlier. The menu had everything you would usually find at an Asian cafe. Definitely coming back.“
