“An Extraordinary Hidden Gem in Whittier!
I hosted my mother's 80th birthday celebration at this aesthetically, beautiful restaurant about three weeks ago, and let me tell you our guests are still raving about it! This place is truly a hidden gem in Whittier.
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The Oaxaca-style food was outstanding, rich in flavor and beautifully presented. The dessert was a definite hit with everyone, and the ambiance was exactly what we had envisioned-warm, inviting, and perfect for such a special occasion.
Xotchil, one of the owners, was an absolute pleasure to work with-professional, extremely accommodating, and incredibly responsive to every question and request I had. Her team-Liz, Ines, and Raul-were equally amazing: friendly, attentive, and very professional throughout the entire event.
We were also grateful that the owners allowed us to bring in a Mariachi band, a Dueto band, and even a photo booth to make the night even more memorable. It was truly a magical and heartfelt evening, and I couldn't be more thankful for how everything came together.
This milestone celebration meant so much to our family, and choosing this venue was one of the best decisions I made. Thank you to the entire team for your excellent service and for helping create such a beautiful and unforgettable memory for my mother and all of us!”
“Well…. I give the servers high marks and the food was good, but the kitchen was so slow! We hit the hour mark and were just about to walk out, and the server finally came with out food. Beer was ok. The server was nice and comped our beer and soda. Still y’all. An hour for food is too long.”
“Best food! great family atmosphere! very clean. excellent customer service.”
“We came here 2 days back to back and was definitely not disappointed the first day we just wanted to try the place out and ordered the pork belly sliders and a brisket Mac n cheese. Both were amazing but… the next morning we came to get brunch and ordered the chili verde breakfast burrito along with the tri tip breakfast bowl and I must say that had to be the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! Plus the sauce with the salsa they give you for that bowl was delicious!!! I’m just upset that the brunch is not year around”

“This is one of the best and only place we like to go. They are very friendly and best fresh sushi all around. it really feels like a small family enviroment”
“Azabu Sushi – Whittier, CA
★ ★ ★ ★ ½ (I docked half a star purely out of spite because I can’t afford to eat here every day)
I walked into Azabu expecting the usual Whittier sushi experience: decent fish, questionable rice, and a lingering fear that the “spicy tuna” might just be yesterday’s salmon wearing hot sauce as war paint. Instead I was immediately hit with a vibe that says, “Yes, we know we’re in a strip mall next to a boba place, but we’re about to ruin you for grocery-store California rolls forever.”
Let’s start with the Salmon Carpaccio (the flat pizza-looking thing in the photo). Imagine if salmon had a glow-up, went to Coachella, and came back wearing citrus ponzu as body glitter and microgreens as a flower crown. It’s so pretty I almost felt bad eating it. Almost. Then I inhaled the entire plate in 45 seconds like a savage who’d never seen raw fish before. Zero regrets. The texture is silkier than my ex’s lies.
Next up: the Shrimp Gyoza in that dark, mysterious broth. These dumplings show up swimming in what I can only describe as “umami bathwater.” One bite and I involuntarily whispered “oh daddy” — which was awkward because I was on a date with my actual father. The wrappers have that perfect pan-seared crisp before collapsing into the sauce like they owe it money. I’d bathe in that broth if it weren’t socially unacceptable (and if the staff weren’t watching me like I’m one impulse away from grabbing a straw).
Portions are annoyingly civilized — translation: you’ll want to order three of everything and then lie about being full so you look refined. Pro tip: don’t. Just commit to the food coma. Your jeans will forgive you eventually.
Service is ninja-level attentive without being obnoxious. Our server knew the menu like he personally caught the fish at 4 a.m. while doing CrossFit. When I asked what was good he just smirked and said “everything,” which should’ve been arrogant but was 100% correct. Rude.
Ambiance? It’s dark, moody, and sexy in a way that makes you want to use chopsticks seductively even though you still hold them like a toddler with crayons.
Only complaint: the bill. It arrives looking innocent, then you realize you just paid Beverly Hills prices in a city where the biggest landmark is a 24-hour donut shop. Worth it? Absolutely. Will I be eating cup noodles for the next week? Also yes.
Verdict: Azabu is the sushi spot Whittier doesn’t deserve but desperately needed. If you’re still going to the conveyor-belt place down the street after eating here, I’m afraid we can no longer be friends. 9.5/10 — would sell a minor organ to come back tomorrow.”

“You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, with that said I love to try a different item on it everytime I get a chance to stop by. Taste and quality are always on point. It's awesome to see the staff having a blast together with great music in the background making the experience feel fun even when there's a wait. Pricing is perfect as the portions are generous and the flavors are like to other. So happy to see this business growing as I look forward to seeing them all over the nation one day. Keep serving it up #TYQ!”
“We went to the Newport Beach location a couple of weeks ago. This was my first time ordering an acai bowl. The staff was very helpful and patient when I was building my bowl. Overall, from the time we walked in to the time we left, the staff was extremely friendly and nice.”
“Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful folks working there. Great food and drinks.”

“Solid spot for Japanese-Korean food in Whittier. The menu is small but focused which I like. We got the Cheese Katsu meal, Omurice, and Egg Sando. The Katsu was cooked well, not too greasy, very flavorful. The Omurice was my fave, fluffy and the sauce was really good. Another highlight was the Yuzu Panna Cotta we got for dessert. It was citrusy, not too sweet, great texture, we really enjoyed it. Their Matcha Yuzu-ade was refreshing as well. Good service and a relaxed atmosphere. We will be coming back to try some things we weren't able to fit in this time around.”

“This place has great food! I have tried the chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki. Gyoza, California roll. And the Bento box. Everything has been super delicious. I do recommend you take your food to go. There is very little space for eating and half the dining area is taken up by supplies. It best just to take your food elsewhere. But a must try with it's huge delicious portions”
“Came to the fairly newly reopened El Bueno Gusto for dinner and happy that we did. As it was a nice night, we chose to sit in quaint patio area. We were brought out tasty chips and salsa and the attentive waitress took our drink order. Just fyi, beer and wine is only served inside.
We ordered the fish tacos and shrimp fajitas. Boy, they were extremely tasty, really fresh flavors. The beans and rice were good.
Prices were reasonable as well!
We will be back to try the asada and other meat dishes.
Looks like they are open for breakfast too.”
“Ill start by saying I have been wanting to come to this place in forever because of all the recommendations I got and I must say I was not disappointed. From the entry I got a warm welcome and was seated almost immediately. The menu had a bunch of good choices from the food to the drinks, I myself didnt know what to order but my waitress kim who i must say was a pleasure to be attended by. She was patient with me and my questions regarding the menu and she never dropped a smile. She suggested I got the Paloma negra and girl knew her stuff! It was my favorite. I also accompanied it with some asada fries and let me tell you they were a hit! Over all my experience was really great. You will be seeing me more often!”
“I’ve had breakfast at the Toast in Whittier and this one. Both have great breakfast. This Restaurant is much bigger and it’s very clean. The servers are friendly, however, I felt like they worked at a slower pace compared to the Toast in Whittier. The breakfast was awesome!”
“Amazing and comfortable experience… The oysters are beyond fresh and super special on taste, quality… The “you only live once” platter is INCREDIBLE!!! In our sweet little town of Whittier!!!”
“Absolutely loved macho nachos, Korean style wings, hot dogs with bacon excellent”

“I stopped by the Carl’s Jr. right off the 605 freeway in Whittier to grab something small to eat, and I’m so glad I did. Adriana provided amazing service—she was patient even though I took a little long to order, and her friendly, welcoming attitude made a great impression. Her positive energy really stood out. I’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you Adriana”
“Hole in the wall but wow that price for a super burrito! Burrito was nothing to brag about. Ordered a super burrito with buche and asada. $26..... They needed to heat it up more, the cheese was not remotely melted, I guess I shouldn't have ordered it with everything, the salad probably cooled everything down. Cause the burrito was not piping hot like how I would have liked it.
That being said omg this is a giant burrito larger than a smart water bottle.”
“I've been coming here for over 20 years. It doesn't disappoint. It has been a reliable and faithful lil hole in the wall since my late night partying, clubbing, or barhopping days. Great place when you want to munch on some good Mexican food. Atacor is a true gem that has a special place in my heart. Their salsa is one of a kind and kicks up any dish here. If you're hungry, try the Super Burrito it's worth it!”
“This Carl’s Jr. in Whittier feels like a familiar stop along a warm Southern California road 🌴. The air is mild, traffic moves steadily, and the neighborhood around Washington Boulevard has that relaxed, everyday SoCal rhythm.
Inside, it’s exactly what you expect from Carl’s Jr. — burgers, fries, drinks, fast service, nothing fancy. The food is consistent, hot, and filling, which is really all you’re looking for when you pull in for a quick bite 🍔🍟. You’re not here for surprises — you’re here because you know what you’re getting.
Outside, the mood is calm and practical. Cars pass by, streetlights glow, and the evening settles in without rush. It’s the kind of place you stop at between errands, after work, or while moving through the city without any big plans 🚗🌙.
This Carl’s Jr. isn’t a destination.
It’s a reliable Southern California fast-food stop — simple, familiar, and easy to fit into the flow of the road.”
“Magaly & Eduardo, I want to thank you for our belated Valentine's Day dinners that we had on Monday, Feb. 21st. My husband and I both ordered the 4 Course Dinners for the 1st time. Considering that I had the steak, chicken, and shrimp, & the salmon dinner, they were all cooked to perfection. Thanks again for your attentiveness!”
“One of the Best fastfoods around! First time today having lunch, the cleanliness is absolutely perfect, ,nice cold temperature, tables chairs, restroom trash bins are neat and tidy, cashier and cooks are well reherse .foods is amazing I decided to take home some for later , WI does, parking is immaculate. I've been living around this neighborhood for 22 year s and today is my first trial. And oh boy I'm really satisfied.”
“We love Joy. My family have been regulars for many many years. Food is awesome. Service is great, servers friendly. Only bummer, when we, as a family, went to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, we presented a gift certificate my husband & I were gifted from my Kids. It was issued at the end of 2019, expired at the end of 2020. Because of Covid we did not venture out until late last year. They did not not honor it. A little bit of a disappointment, but not going to keep us from frequenting our fav local sushi restaurant.”
“Came hungry, came thirsty, and came in need of a good spot to let my creativity flow. This is it. This place has it all. The ambiance gets you set to sit, relax, and unwind. The drinks are on point, delicious and well served. The service and welcoming environment is just the beginning. Food is gourmet, lighting is perfect, service is amazing, and the rest; well, come and find out for yourself. Great experience. I'll definitely be a returning visitor.”

“We recently placed a large custom order with World Burger to feed over 150 players and coaches, and they did a phenomenal job! Everything was handled with professionalism and care—from coordinating the order to making sure every burger was fresh, hot, and delicious.
The quality and taste of their burgers are outstanding, and they didn’t miss a beat even with such a big group. Everyone was raving about how good the food was!
Highly recommend World Burger if you’re looking for great service and even better burgers. 🍔👏”
“I was captivated by this place from the first bite of their tacos and burritos! The tacos are a feast for the senses. The tortillas are tender, the filling is juicy and perfectly balanced. The spiciness is moderate, piquant, and adds to the appetite. The burritos are a true explosion of sensations. The portions are large, filling, and incredibly delicious. The fillings are varied, and you can taste each ingredient. The sauce is delicious, complementing the flavors without overpowering them.
I was especially impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Everything is fresh and delicious, and you can tell the care and attention paid to each item. It's prepared with love, and it's noticeable. The service is fast and friendly, and our orders were delivered promptly. The atmosphere is pleasant, cozy, and inviting.
The prices are quite reasonable, considering the portion sizes and the quality of the dishes. The value for money is excellent. I recommend this place to all lovers of Mexican cuisine! I will definitely come back again to try other dishes. This place has become one of my favorites, thank you for a wonderful experience!”
“I have not been to a Marie Calendars in years! I thought they had all closed down. I was in the area and so nostalgic that I decided to stop for a meal. The best server, service and experience! “I would give Pizza 21 a five-star rating without hesitation. The cheese is delicious, the crust is great, and the toppings are fresh. This place has exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to satisfy my pizza cravings here at least once a week. A must-visit spot for pizza lovers!”
“Food and service were absolutely amazing! Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and even better than expected. Our server, Justin, did an outstanding job taking care of us from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our order was perfect. It really made the whole experience enjoyable. I highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for great food and great service. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you! 🙌✨”
“I highly recommend these tacos cooked Sinaloa style. The meat is incredibly flavorful and I've been going to this place for a long time. I first tried these tacos when I was 15 years old, and now at 31, I still make it a point to visit this place. Not only is the food delicious, but the cleanliness of the restaurant is also impressive.”

“honestly The food is very very good, I rate the his place a 10/10 in food and service. For being a Japanese restaurant this food is very tasty, the only thing is that they will serve your food in to go plates. Understandable, but if you are craving something with a lot of variety very good food, healthy and good in nutrients I have to recommend you this place. Also, if you are on a diet this place have the BEST fresh produce you can imagine so gymbros and gym girls do not miss this place 👍✅”
“Delious !!! We got beef ribs so meaty, tri tip so tender and brisket melts in your mouth. Mac & cheese is creamy. This is a Hidden gem in the city of Whittier. Family own you must try. Best bbrq in town.”

“I was craving froyo and came across this place while driving with my children and husband. Good thing we chose this place. It is the best! I've been coming every week or 2 and I get the cherry tart and lavender. It is so delicious. I bring my own organic granola to top it off and it is so yummy. Best froyo ever!”
“Hooked on Coffee is a cozy local gem that serves great coffee and a nice selection of bakery items. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s conveniently located right on Main Street — perfect for a quick stop or a relaxing break.
Sadly, the shop recently experienced a break-in, which is disheartening for such a hardworking local business. We really need to support more mom-and-pop coffee shops like this one — so if you’re in the area, drop by, grab a coffee and a pastry, and show them some love.
Overall, Hooked on Coffee offers great coffee, tasty baked goods, and a genuinely positive vibe.”
“I have been going to 6740 for years. They have beer and wine. They have TV's for sporting events. The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed their wings, but recently we had a less enjoyable food experience. The wings were served cold and the grilled cheese burger was very plain. Prior to that, this was one of my favorite places for wings. I hope it improves if we come back. Maybe it was just a busy night. I don't know.”
“Buena comida y mucha variedad...servicio al cliente es excelente...lo recomiendo y les doy 5 estrellas...”

“Amazing Sope Tacos Desvelados is basically a thick tortilla with lots of tasty things on top of it. The base is made from masa dough, which is cooked until the outside gets crispy and the inside stays soft and chewy. Each bite tastes great because of the different textures that are mixed together.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review for Wingstop Big Thanks to Salvador, Cesar & Team!
I want to give a HUGE shoutout and thank you to Salvador, Cesar, and the entire Wingstop crew for their incredible service during a crazy situation.
We ordered 100 wings and fries through DoorDash to feed our family on Halloween night. The driver picked up the order and then CANCELLED it. Yes, they literally took the food and disappeared. And to make it worse, DoorDash offered zero real help. No urgency, no accountability nothing but a headache.
But Wingstop? Total game-changer.
Salvador and Cesar stepped up big time. Even though it wasn’t their fault, they remade the ENTIRE order 100 wings and fries for us and treated us with so much kindness and respect. They turned a disaster into a reminder of what real customer service looks like.
To the Wingstop team: We’re truly sorry you had to remake the order, but we are beyond grateful for how you handled everything. You earned customers for life. 🙏🏽💯
🚫 DoorDash you need to do better!
🍗 Wingstop YOU ARE THE REAL ONES!
Thank you again, Salvador, Cesar, and the whole Wingstop team. You saved Halloween for us!”

“A nice tea shop with free wifi and some working spaces. It’s new and clean. A few people were working or doing homework in the seating area. It feels very family friendly. Most non-coffee drinks are mixed power so I couldn’t have the no sugar version I wanted.”

Taqueria Carnitas Sahuayo brings a taste of Michoacán!! The Carne de Puerco con Chile is pure flavor — tender pork in a deep red chili sauce that’s both rich and bold. The fried queso quesadilla was ridiculously cheesy, the adobada burrito packed with saucy goodness, and that flan… SO creamy!! Don’t miss out on the agua de Jamaica!! Bold, tangy, and refreshingly floral!! Insanely refreshing!!
Every bite is hearty, rich with flavor and a taste of Michoacán that’s a definitely crave-able!!
Wonderful customer service from Juan and Javier!!”
