“As someone who can be very particular about food and whose palate has been influenced by the kind of attention to detail you’d expect from a Michelin-level kitchen. I’ll admit I went into Valley Pizza with a pretty critical eye. My wife will tell you I can be a little picky when it comes to what I eat.

But sometimes, a restaurant earns your respect for reasons that go beyond what’s on the plate.

The wings were a little on the salty side for my personal taste, and I’m always going to be honest about that. What impressed me far more, however, was the customer service and the way Valley Pizza handled the situation.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his wife, and they were incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. They made us feel like guests rather than just customers. I actually tried to keep things pretty low-key, although my wife has a habit of giving people a little heads-up about me and my food opinions, which I’m pretty sure can change the atmosphere in the room.

But here’s the thing: great restaurants aren’t defined by never making a mistake. They’re defined by what they do when something isn’t quite right.

Valley Pizza absolutely got that part right.

They were thoughtful, attentive, and even offered to remake the order. I honestly didn’t feel that was necessary because the way they treated us after the fact went a long way. That kind of hospitality says a lot about the people behind a restaurant.

And then there’s the price. Valley Pizza is very reasonably priced and family-friendly, which is exactly what a neighborhood restaurant should be. In a community like Murrieta, having a place where families can enjoy good food without feeling like they’re breaking the bank is a big deal.

So, yes, I’m going to be picky about the wings. That’s what food critics do. But I’m also going to recognize exceptional hospitality when I experience it and Valley Pizza delivered that in a big way.

I highly recommend Valley Pizza and look forward to returning. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them and looking forward to featuring them in a future column.

“Today is World Down Syndrome Day. We had 50+ people who planned on attending an outdoor event, however the rain had different plans for us. Round Table accommodated our families last minute, and they did such a phenomenal job! The food was delicious, but the service was out of this world! They made each and every one of us feel welcomed. Staff is always welcoming and kind, like they enjoy their jobs. “BUILD-YOUR-OWN-PIZZA! Blaze is the Subway for pizza lovers, but BETTER! Blaze uses the best ingredients and heating techniques to provide a crispy, delicious experience every time. If you’re not in the mood to create your own personal pizza, there’s menu options. However, I end up spending about the same either way so I might as well add all the toppings I want!

I ordered a high-rise crust (+3.00) pizza which is essentially rising crust. It was adorned with regular red sauce and fresh mozzarella. Next, I added my meats (pepperoni, sausage, bacon). Followed by my veggies (red and green peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes). I highly recommend trying Blaze’s oregano and salt/pepper, they’re perfect toppings. Don’t forget to ask for parmesan packets from the staff, if you don’t ask you shall not receive lol. One of the dudes I got the cheese from was a little bothered but I asked him anyway.

My meal took no more than 7 mins to heat up. The oven at Blaze leaves my pizza perfectly crispy every time. I sat outside as it was a chill, summer night with plenty of seating in the outdoor patio. I grabbed my blood orange lemonade and was cool as a cucumber.

Overall, I had a great experience. I was helped fairly quickly and the staff were mostly friendly albeit a little awkward. The dining room inside is large and a drink station is available with refills. Unisex single bathrooms are available with a shared single sink outside the restrooms. Everything was clean and well-stocked.“
