Place looks dirty, we saw a few cockroaches, definetelly overrated, food came cold and overcooked, we had to go hard on salt and pepper to taste like something. It wasn't our first time there but it was definetelly the last! There are way too many great ramen places in LA! Don't waste your money there!

A true gem in the valley. Chef Wongie makes the absolute best comfort food this side of the city. The decor is quirky and personal to the owner and it reminds you that the best food comes from small businesses like this one that are getting harder and harder to find. Definitely give it a try.

Haven't tried it yet but $50 and I just watched the guy pull frozen chicken out a bag and drop it in the fryer. Let's hope the curry is made in house. Place is empty but they are about to close soooo I'll update.

Been wanting to try this place since my bf and I love curry and the one time we decided to try it, we arrived to a sign on the door that they were closed due to holiday catering. Bummer we drove all the way there (approx 30 min) since Yelp said the business was open. But that didn't stop us! We came by yesterday to finally try this spot and were happy it was open. It was just my bf and I at first but then a family showed up shortly after which actually ended up being his family. Such a wholesome owner and spot. Parking was easy, there's some free 2 hr parking on the small street nearby if you don't find any metered parking up front. Ventura can be busy!! They had two tv's on, one right next to our table that was playing some kpop stuff and then one by the kitchen hat had what looked like MXC (great show)! Super small spot with maybe like 5-6 tables max. Service was pretty quick and he even gave us a tofu sesame salad while we waited for our main food. Super nice! I went for the Hangover Fries which has Thai cheese and curry cheese, Hawaiian kalua pork, and two fried eggs over steak fries. I wasn't very hungry so I couldn't finish it but it was delicious! I honestly wish there was more curry sauce to cover all of the fries. I was most excited for their chilaquiles but it seemed to be discontinued. My bf wanted the loco moco but he was also out of beef patties for it so he got the DJ Meal instead which was a curry Katsu rice plate. Overall food was delicious and would love to try the other items on the menu since there were some really cool options. He prepared a giant Hawaiian bun burger for his family while we were there and it looked incredible! Massive and awesome to see prepared. IG: @ammysalamii

Hidden jem on Ventura Blvd. Owner/chef is incredibly personable. Menu is a rare combination of hearty comfort food but also incredibly unique and memorable. Can't recommended this place

I always enjoy coming here. The food is always hot and tasty. Do know up front that when it's busy, service may be a little slower as it is just the chef running things usually. But he's always attentive and thoughtful regardless. If you want some good comfort food, come here!

Four of us ate here last night. The two who had curry thought the food was fine. The two of us who had ramen could hardly eat it. The noodles were gluey and tasted like butter (?), the broth was only lukewarm, the char shu was tough. Nothing was hot, as if all of it was cooked earlier in the day and put together in a bowl and then not heated enough when we ordered. My daughter's soft-boiled eggs were still cold in the middle. Worst of all, the egg on my bowl was spoiled. As in rotten. I took one bite and nearly gagged and had to spit it out and then fish the rest of my egg out of my bowl. The whole thing was inedible. I have never eaten in a place where serving spoiled food would not get an actual apology and at minimum a removal of the charge for that meal from the check. Instead, when I told the waiter (chef?) he said, as if he didn't care, "oh, sorry, want me to get you another egg?" I had picked out the chicken, the only edible part of the dish, to eat before I tried the egg. I did not want another egg, I wanted the taste of that rotten one out of my mouth. I couldn't eat another bite. He took $10 off the bill (HALF the price of my bowl). Do yourself a favor and go to any other place besides this overpriced, underwhelming one.

This place was empty, depressing, and the food reflected it.I knew we were in trouble when they were out of Coke. So I stuck with water. The waiter poured me warm water from a pitcher. When I asked for ice, he put one ice cube in my glass. Not a good start. The salad was excellent. All the greens and veggies were fresh, and the dressing was tasty. But it was downhill after that. I got the Japanese curry chicken cutlet, "hot" on the spicy level. It was bland, and what flavor there was was off. I could barely detect any heat. The curry sauce left a nasty aftertaste that lingered even after I left the place. Even the rice was sticky and mushy.I know I came in a Tuesday night, but if you're going to stay open and charge $21 per plate, you need to do better than this.UPDATE: You do yourself no favors by writing such a surly response. It just makes you look bad.Take a look at my other reviews. I'm not hard to please. I routinely give 4 and 5 star reviews. You just didn't merit it.Consider focusing on food quality, and accept constructive criticism as a means to improvement, rather than an opportunity to lash out at your customers. And did you compare putting a single ice cube in whiskey -- to keep from diluting it -- to doing the same thing with water? I'm surprised to have to tell you this, but you can't dilute water with ice. Thanks, but I'll pass on the free meal.
