Restaurantji's Woodland recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“Best quesabirria in Woodland!! Always full of well flavored meat and gooey cheese. I don't always get the consume when I go other places (especially if it costs extra), but theirs is soooo good!! Ive tried it plenty of other places on/around Main st, but I wouldn't give any of the others 5 stars“
“We were visiting Davis and decided to stop by for some tacos because I've heard good things about La Kora. Wish I had known about them while I was at school here because they are so good! We got carne asada, cabeza, and Al pastor tacos. My go to meat is usually asada but I was told that Al pastor is a must try. And to my surprise, it was the best one! It was super flavorful compared to the other two meats. The tortillas are freshly made and pressed inside. The salsa bar is located right below the cashier. It is located in a small lot with abandoned cars. No real parking or seating because it's more of a grab and go style. It gets busy during lunch time so it goes to show how great their food is!“
“I’ve tried almost all of the Menu and every time I come back each meal is beyond delicious. My favorite part is the customer service the moment you step up to order you are greeted with excitement and joy. They make you feel welcome and appreciated as customers. Most Delicious Birria in Nor Cal!!!“
“These are some of the best tacos in the area! The flavor really just comes out in the meat. The radish and carrots they give with their tacos and the cilantro in the tacos are fresh, adding to the taste. The tortillas have a nice crunch to them.“
“First time and impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. My son had a asada burrito and loved it and he is picky. My daughter had a chicken quesadilla and she said it was good. My husband had posible was good too. I have a fish and shrimp tacos and they were season to perfection! We will definitely be back when we go to visit our child at UC Davis!!“
“I knew I would like the ambiance from pictures I had seen and came away impressed with the food and menu as well. The flavors and dishes are authentic. The chef created cuisine rises above cookie cutter offerings in chain restaurants. The main menu selection is large including seafood, various grilled meats and molé. In addition to the main menu, there are weekly changing Taco Tuesday and Weekend Dinner menus to add even more variety. The place is indeed charming with attentions to details as small as the custom silverware. It is the place to go for more upscale Mexican dining locally.“
“Absolutely delicious! I had the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was incredible. I love the father mother dynamic, the food is authentic without a doubt. If you’re looking for the best Mexican food, quick, delicious and from a kind and sweet family, eat here. It’s seriously the best.“
“Can’t help but to give this place a 5 star!! I live in West Sacramento now but come out here often just for this place !! I actually used to work here back in 2017 when I was 18yrs old. Great service, great food!! Still to this day ☺️ recommend to all it’s definitely worth the drive I’m actually about to pick up some sopes now ??“
“Tacos Mixe is the best taco spot in Yolo county. Homemade tortillas, a trompo, and great flavor. My husband and I met in Oaxaca, and these tacos are the closest thing we can find to the tacos we eat in Mexico. So happy it's in Woodland :)“
“My wife and I stopped in here a few weeks ago for a quick bite while we were in town to have a few of our dogs groomed in the area. What a great find. The atmosphere was friendly, and the bartender was the only one there, and told us that the wait for food may be a bit longer due to this. This was not so, as he did such a great job making our quesadillas, while still tending to his bar, and our food arrived faster than most "fast" food places. He also talked my wife (a wine enthusiast with a gin martini preference on occasion) into a margarita. She was very impressed, and when I ordered an alcohol free beer, he turned me on to the NA Heineken (who knew?) which was also awesome. On a quick note, when we left, we took some of our leftovers and what was left of a container of sour cream, only to notice when we arrived home (1.5 hours away - yes we love our groomer this much!) that the container was not a to-go cup, but an actual dish from the establishment, oops! Luckily we had another appointment the following week for another one of our dogs, so we stopped in and admitted our theft. Their appreciative response to our return of the "stolen" property was genuinely the best reaction with teasing and humor. I highly recommend this venue if you want a good drink or great Mexican cuisine, and if you visit on a day that we have dog grooming, you will likely find us there!“
“WoW I'm so glad I found this taco truck parked inside the parking lot of the Auto Repair! It's delicious and I've never had such a perfect taco made for a long time! We came out to Woodland for an emergency tire repair and got hungry. So glad I convinced my husband to give this a try. So glad that we did and will be back next week!!! Easy to find, parked inside the auto repair parking lot across from Home Depot. Can't miss it!“
“The carnitas are delicious, as one might expect. All the meat options are pork based, which is also not surprising. The carnitas are so good, we got tacos and a burrito. A bit expensive, but everything is nowadays and I don't blame them. Horchata was flavorful but a little too sweet for me, I'd still get it again though.Vegetarian options: Good luck lol. If you want veg, go somewhere elseDietary restrictions: Everything is pork, not halal“
