“Cool place with an old time atmosphere. I didn't do much here, just had a drink and left, but the bartender was someone who had lived in the city for a while and was interesting to talk to. There is a casino and games, with food and full bar.”
“This step back into time was glorious. Millie’s is old-school to say the least. Take a walk up to the spacious second floor and enjoy a delicious, well-priced meal. The breakfast burrito smothered in green chilis was perfect in every way. It’s a quiet place with what looks like a lot of locals, but we were taken care of by some veteran servers. A must in Central City!”
“Tour guide was very interesting. Nice young lady. Very helpful getting me into the bar where Face Is On The Floor. She found safe entrance as I can't step too well without a railing.Parking: Short walk to Teller House.”
“The staff was very friendly and helpful - they split a veggie sub sandwich for us. We also shared a beautiful colorful and fresh salad. Fast service in spite of being busy. And, the prices are very reasonable - includes a free drink! I will definitely return and spread the word.”
“This is, by far, my favorite place in Central City to both gamble and enjoy their yummy beers. I love the history and preservation of the old buildings, and Dostal Alley has its own unique charm. Service has always been great. I skip Blackhawk (the sterile money pit) and continue the extra mile to C.C.”
“Welcoming and attentive customer service paired with fantastic fried okra, grrreat green beans and hearty brisket sandwich makes this joint the place to get your BBQ fix! Solid house-made sauces, too. Looking forward to trying the pulled pork sandwich and pecan pie a la mode next time. Thanks, y’all!”
“I live in Longmont and when I go into the mountains from I-70 I stop here. The fountain drinks are good enough to stop. It’s best to go with a few people to try their variety of dogs and Italian beef. You will not be disappointed and you will become a regular.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramp to the front door”
“A very unique place to go for an amazing treat up in the mountains! An unlikely location in a small town just south of Nederland- nothing more than a corner in the road and several buildings. But nestled in a scenic valley that adds to the charm of a small garage pizzeria. Eight or nine solid local and craft beers in the can. Several wines. Large salads... and excellent brussel sprouts that are grilled in the pizza oven and topped with a creamy lemon aioli and pecorino cheese. Pizzas are thin crust, unique toppings, both red and white sauces. Just excellent chewey thin crust that you can't leave on the plate. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique experience and setting only 35 to 40 minutes up above Boulder.”
“Stopped in on my cross-country road trip and was really happy I did! The pizza was really tasty with a good amount of toppings. The crust also tasted good - I did not have any honey to try on the crust, though I still enjoyed it.”
“The Irish coffees are strong and the food is fresh! Go for the chicken and waffles or the Colorado Bennie and you will lick the plate! Bonus is that they take reservations (but don’t require them) and have room for large parties. Super cool booths with high backs gives lots of privacy. Full bar.”
“We had some time to kill on the way back to the airport from the ski areas so we decided to stop in Idaho Springs to walk around. We stumbled across Main Street Restaurant and I’m so glad we decided to stop. They offer a full menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner) all day. I can honestly say I had the best omelet I’ve ever eaten! It was the corned beef omelet with rye toast snd grits. Everything was perfect. You can’t go wrong here. I highly recommend it!”
“My husband Greg and I love the Chophouse; we've always had a wonderful experience. Eric, Carrie, Troy, Uriah, and Leslie and I know I am missing a few shout outs”
“Cute little European bakery. Tried the apple turnover, definitely was worth the price. They are a mom and pop shop, and definitely excel in service. 5/5 would come again”
“Walked here from the Tesla supercharger! The cinnamon stinger is the beverage of choice for sure! Their blueberry bagel w/ crm cheese was terrific. Their quiche was totally undercooked - I was so bummed. I only ate the filling which wasn't much. I wish I would have gotten the breakfast burrito. Super cute vibe here. ❤️”
“Howlin Wind is such a masterpiece.Locals playing acoustic guitars and having fun!Saturday and Sunday afternoons is the best time.Stop in for a hand crafted brew and light food.Mornings get a coffee or similar at the coffee bar.Way dog friendly.Parking can be a little tight in front, so look a little further!”
“Michael and Dex made us feel right at home. The cider was amazing, I tried the Grasshopper cider and it was incredible. Met the owner, Greg. He was very nice! I loved the atmosphere here and will definitely be back.”
“A cute coffee shop up in the mountains (•: The owner was super sweet and the coffee here is unforgettable. We will definitely come back when we’re in Black Hawk again.”
“Nice spot in Idaho springs, literally have driven past it 1000 times, finally stopped in because it's open late, owner/ barkeep is super cool, place has a nice vibe..definitely worth a stop in on your way up or down!”
“Always the most Chilled, Laid-back, Relaxing place to visit when you want to get out of Denver and venture into the Rockies without traveling too far! Incredible views, food and of course beers on tap! P.S. Go on Fish-Fry-Fridays you won't be disappointed!! Thanks TK!Kid-friendliness: My kiddos love to get up close and personal with the tanks and take long looks into the actual brewing part of TommyKs. The kiddos also love reading and looking at the photos of the tails of the TommyKnockers! Builds in a little history while you enjoy some great food!Wheelchair accessibility: I feel like the place is very, very spread out and accessible for your needs!”
“Went for my wife’s birthday, had a great time. Food was good, and the service was amazing. Special shout out to Siya (I think that’s how his name is spelled), he even sang happy birthday with me! Will be back!”
“Good ice cream place. They have a bunch of stuff from the old era! Candies and toys. Only a few seating spots inside but there was a lot of space outside on the street to sit and chill.”
“Great quick stop for breakfast and coffee, just off I70 heading west into the mountains at Dumont (Exit 234).Fresh ingredients, burrito made to order.Awesome option for breakfast and coffee while sitting in traffic going skiing.”
“Found this place on Google while passing through from Winter Park to Denver. Needed breakfast and decided to try it. Customer service was great, friendly and offered suggestions on what to eat and things to do in the area. I ordered sweet tea with 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. The 2 pancakes were huge. It was all really food.”
“I was dying for a turkey sandwich and they had gluten free bread, best day ever! It was delicious and its a cool spot, there's notes on the walls written on napkins and receipts. The people who worked there were happy and kind. Perfect spot to eat before going up higher in the mountains”
“We had a group of 4. Michelle was our waitress. She was very nice and very attentive. I had the cheeseburger with green chili and hand cut fries. My husband had a loaded pizza. The food was prepared by Michelle and Roy. It was hot, fresh and delicious. We got to meet the infamous Roy and his wife Barbara. Both were very nice and Roy kept us laughing and smiling the entire time. He went out of his way to spend time with us and even invited us to see his immaculate kitchen. We had so much fun and will definitely visit again.”
“Stopped here for a bite following a day up in the mountains. We appreciated that they offered smaller pours of their brews in addition to the recs for their sandwiches. I had the fried tofu sandwich and it had lots of flavor. Definitely would come back for the fries!”
“Wow! We heard about this place from our kids who went and loved it. After a lovely hike up to St. Mary’s glacier, we stopped by for an early lunch. The place is low frills, but the bbq and sides were AWESOME! Very friendly staff, nice beers on tap - and the place was hopping by the time we left. Highly recommend!!”
“No actual buffalo at the Buffalo Bar, FYI. They took the Buffalo Burger off the menu, which was the only reason I used to go there. Other than that, in my recent visit (Mar'23) the food and service were fine, except the seating/hostess stand process was oddly overcomplicated and lengthy, even without a line.”
“My girlfriend and I were on a shuttle from The Denver airport to Breck and got stuck here in Idaho Springs amidst the massive snowstorm. Our group collectively decided to go to Safeway to see if we could get some booze. We were turned away due to it just closing at 10PM, but a nice gentleman said, “I’d be happy to re-open the restaurant for you guys.” Nicest folks let us in and served us plenty of drinks and food. Fantastic spot with great people. Recommend every time.”
