Ate here with some friends on a recent trip to Denver. We were excited to try this and it exceeded our high expectations in every way. Loved everything from the decor to the infused vodkas to every item we ate. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was absolutely perfect for a meal with two friends. The restaurant is cozy with a solid menu highlighting seasonal ingredients. We couldn’t decide on appetizers so we had all of the small plates. Every dish was wonderful. The borscht always probably my favorite but it’s difficult to pick a favorite when everything is delicious. The flavor and textures are well executed. We also split two mains, the cod and quail, and one dessert. We each had two cocktails. All of them were unique and tasty. Their wine list also looked great. All of this for $100 each. It definitely feels like a European cafe. It’s a good spot for a dinner with friends and would be perfect for a date night. One of the best overall dining experiences in Denver.

Easily some of the best food I have had in the Denver area. This unique, quaint Ukrainian restaurant and bar offers unique drinks and delicious food. The decor is unique and unquestionably Ukrainian. Our table had circus figures embedded into the wooden table (clowns, figures on knife throwing boards, figures riding oversized tricycles, monkeys). Matryoshka dolls lined the shelves on the wall, and the wall above the bathroom door was covered in flowers. We ordered two bites and a main for my partner and I which was the perfect amount of food. We ordered the parsnip varenyky, stuffed Swiss chard, and lamb shank bigos for food and the “slap that baby make it free”, diva darling, and greedy peasant for drinks. They were changing their menus in a few days and unfortunately out of the borscht, veal, rabbit, and monkfish. The STBMIF tasted largely of beets but was still tasty, and the diva darling like a tart lemonade. The greedy peasant was like a decadent duck broth whose flavor kept evolving, which was quite surprising from a clear cocktail. The stuffed chard was delicious. The bulgur wheat was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and wrapped in nicely charred chard that was not too tough, but still held everything together in a neat package. It was well complemented by the bryndza (soured cream) and roasted tomatoes. We nearly licked our plates clean. The parsnip varenyky was delicious. The wrapper was savory, warm (flavor wise) and crisp, and did not soak up much of the sweet pear sauce that it came with. The parsnip filling was nutty and slightly bitter, perfectly capturing the flavor of a well roasted parsnip. We cut ours open and spooned some of the sauce inside. Overall, the individual components complemented each other incredibly well but were still enjoyable on their own.The lamb was out of this world. Tender enough to cut with a spoon, and wonderfully paired with sweet currants and sour red sauerkraut. There were also some slices of sausage in the dish that didn’t contribute much. They weren’t as good as the lamb, and didn’t go well with the other components as well as the lamb did. Still, a marvelous dish.We were too full for dessert. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and visitors.

They have plenty of options for vegetarians and were willing to make changes to accommodate. Great food, great service, and great experience.

Finally, a Ukrainian restaurant in Denver. Now, this isn't your mother's Ukrainian food. Chef Bo takes Ukrainian classics and puts a twist to them to elevate them and truthfully, make them more palatable to non-Ukrainians. Many have noted the small space. Im sorry but if you're looking for a massive table and a huge restaurant, go to a chain restaurant. If you're looking for a thoughtfully cozy home feeling then that is personally what I look for. Now, the menu changes seasonally plus Halloween. We've been multiple times and RAVED about the menu and we've also been and felt okay about the menu. But what we can say is that each time it's thoughtful. They don't just toss a meat and mashed potato's and call it a day. If you didn't like a certain season, try again. Chef Bo is also a treat to watch and dine with in the kitchen / bar area. Worth getting a chance to chat with him. Lastly, try the horseradish Horilka. We always get a carafe (and then some).

Food is good and it’s a cool concept but prices are a bit too high for the experience we had. 4 dishes - 2 were pretty good and 2 were great in concept but executed poorly, the rabbit was overcooked and the piroshki was burned to a crisp on the bottom

Interesting place. Some really tasty bites followed by some great entrees. There were 4 of us for supper. We each had a different entree (monkfish, lamb, rabbit, stuffed squash). Each was excellent and very different. Friendly waitstaff. Highly recommended!!Dietary restrictions: Only a couple choices for gluten-free.

Do you like having money stolen from you? Then this place is for you. We dined here on January 27th for my husband's birthday. Throughout the evening, our server's disdain for our presence was palpable. He seemed to exude an air of annoyance, as if we were an inconvenience to him. Upon receiving our check, we paid in cash. Our server shorted us $20 when he returned our change and we had to hunt him down to get the rest of the money. He said he doesn't deal with cash much so he must've forgot how to count it -- bro, are you for real? We both felt like it was intentional. He then told us our Tock fee ($31) would be refunded at the close of service. A week went by and we never received our money back. I emailed the restaurant and the owner responded saying he would take care of it. Another week went by and I followed up. Ghosted. I am shocked and appalled by the service at this place. The food was good, but didn't knock our socks off for the price. The cocktails were fantastic, especially the one with the bay leaf apple foam.

I'd give this place ten stars if I could. Literally every dish we had was incredible. We tried the Borscht, the sausage, and the peroshki starter plates. The peroshki is an absolute delight, perfectly balanced lamb with flakey pastry and an incredible sauce. The sausage plate came with house pickles and house mustard, including pickled mushrooms. The borscht came with a delightful pickled egg and they poured it through a fish shaped kettle, which I appreciated. We had the rabbit in the clay pot. I loved the dandelion greens that came with; just a perfect amount of bitterness and umami. The potatoes were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. We had three cocktails between us, the greedy peasant (umami, very strange), the aristocrat (gin based, really good), and the diva (vodka and bubbles, could barely taste the alcohol but definitely felt it). Both desserts on the menu were fantastic. The blood orange tart was a good balance of sweet and citrus but in my mind the sheep's cheese mousse was the real star. It was sweet and salty, plus offered a really nice texture with puffed wheat treats. If cereal tasted like that I would eat cereal every day.Definitely worth every penny. We sat at the bar and the owner chef Bo was so friendly. They are doing a fantastic job.

I think this is kind of restaurant that Denver needs more of: really interesting cuisine, solid tight menu, a fun casual (but not dive-y), albeit very tight—I’d also say cozy—atmosphere, and not too spendy. It’s a seasonal menu so the dishes might change the next time we come back. The red cabbage borscht was fantastic; the large piroshki was awesome and the filling was super tender; the rabbit was oh so tender and perfectly seasoned; lamb shank was surprisingly un-gamey and seasoned so well. The cocktails were fun and interesting too—had the first savory cocktail I’ve ever tasted.Yeah we had a great time here and can’t wait to go back!

Every single plate was well-balanced, and every element was cooked and seasoned well. Overall, one of the best meals I've had in a while, as well as a great dining experience.Vegetarian options: The delicata squash and parsnip-apple varenyky were delightful vegetarian options.
