Was a great place. I was told today through the peephole in the door that the owner sold the place and Prohibition is no more.

Building had windows broken out and was boarded up. Watch out in this area, not a safe place. Not much else i can say, but review requires more words.

We had just arrived in Denver and just happened to see an episode of Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins and this restaurant just happened to be featured. We hurried up and looked at the map and discovered it was literally three blocks away from where we were staying. We went in with the intention of getting the short rib sandwich that was featured, but upon ordering we were informed they didn't have any short rib and that it wasn't as good as their burger. So based on the recommendation of the waiter/bartender we got the burger. The garlic aioli for our fries was pretty good, the burger was average. The waiter/bartender was super friendly. What we saw, however, is that the windows of the building hadn't been repaired from the riots that took place in 2020 (almost 3 years at that time).

What a great place to just chill. The bartender was phenomenal and had great energy. Everything was good, drinks, food and atmosphere...I believe John Taffer would be proud.

A "dive" bar with great drinks and great food is about all you can ask for! We stopped in for a weekday night drinks and dinner. We had great conversation with the bartender and enjoyed our burger. No frills, no mess, just a flat out great beer and cocktail with a great burger. We will be back!!

I went to Prohibition for happy hour. Their happy hour menu has a few offerings that make it worthwhile. First, on a personal level, I enjoyed the ambiance. I can't stand loud bars at this point and come to bars for the conversation and Prohibition certainly offers that. Booths allow for many to hang out and converse. Even at happy hour, just the right amount of people and not overwhelming. As a result, strangely does have the feel of being a bar from another era. I do not drink. I asked the bartender if they had any non-alcoholic beer or cocktails. They don't. This I find a major downfall of any bar now especially in a major city. At this point, it's good business to tailor to the sober community and, at the very least, have something available in the non-alcoholic realm that isn't just pop. Also, you're called "Prohibition," how the heck do you not have N/A cocktails as an option on your menu?!? So, just be aware of this if you're not a drinker. They unfortunately seemed understaffed. Our bartender had to do a lot but did her best. I ended up ordering the fried pickles and the Mac and cheese. Both were good enough bar food options at happy hour prices. But perhaps I'm not really used to eating out at bars (again, the whole N/A thing) anymore or eating fried foods (the whole I'm old and don't leave my house thing), but those fried pickles gave me some bad gas for the rest of the evening. Given the bad gas, I definitely needed to take a big old poop. This can be frightening when at a bar. However, to Prohibition's credit, for what they are as a bar, they have a solidly clean restroom with a toilet that is accessible and matches well for the fact you may pooping a great deal after eating their fried pickles. This was comforting given so many comparable feeling bars to Prohibition have no doors on their toilets, straight up doo-doo all over the place, and other things that make you wonder if you'd rather poop your pants. The neighborhood is weird. Dude came in and got kicked out after knocking over a sign. This dude also told my friend he looks like Joe Rogan. My friend looks nothing like Joe Rogan. I was walking my dog and a man on the street said to me, "DMX!" I said, "Sure, DMX," thinking in my head that this must be a simple reference to Dog-Man X, DMX's consistent use of dogs on his albums and music videos, but then the man said to me, "Michael Vick," so no, clearly this gentleman wanted to bring up dog fighting with me and, I don't know, I guess he wants my dog to go into dog fighting, no clue. Main point: some people have written about the area being super sketchy and if that concerns you, you probably just need to be prepared for people high out of their minds or random dudes bringing up awful stuff from the early 2000s for no reason just because you happen to have a dog with you. All in all, Prohibition is somewhere between a 3 and 4 star place, but I'll round up to 4 because I would actually return. It's a good place for a conversation and prices are reasonable at happy hour. Just, you know, be prepared to drink Sprite.

Terrible selection and service is slow. Management very uninvolved during our visits.

More focused on friends outside than to service inside. Not only that, I paid cash, and she still charged my card. Sad people have to steal to make money.

Great food when they opened… and still to this day. May be the the best burger in town.

Food and service was def average. We walked there and it was super sketchy at night so we probably won't go again since we don't live in the area

Absolutely visit here while in Denver. A great selection of mixed drinks and food all served up by a great bartender.
