“My girlfriend and I were on a shuttle from The Denver airport to Breck and got stuck here in Idaho Springs amidst the massive snowstorm. Our group collectively decided to go to Safeway to see if we could get some booze. We were turned away due to it just closing at 10PM, but a nice gentleman said, “I’d be happy to re-open the restaurant for you guys.” Nicest folks let us in and served us plenty of drinks and food. Fantastic spot with great people. Recommend every time.“
“What appeared to be an utterly unassuming diner was actually a diamond in the rough. The staff, upon entry, were unendingly friendly, with a very clean mountain aesthetic. Then, dear Goodness, the food arrived.Hands down, the absolute best green and red chili we've had since moving out west, absolutely unparalleled. And the burger! Oh goodness, the best burgers we've had in 20+ years. If you're passing by here, STOP AND EAT. If you don't, you're missing out on some of the best food in Colorado, hands freaking down.We are bookmarking this as an out of the way place to return to regularly. I hope I can request large batches of the chili to-go!“
“The place is unassuming and with a bit dated interior and Eric is a man of few words but the food was reasonably priced, cooked super quickly and tasted pretty excellent. The won-soup tasted like it was home made and was fantastic. The rest of our meal was delicious. We will totally come here “
“One of the best BBQ spots I have had in Colorado. Brisket was so juicy and the cheese curd upgrade as a side is the best decision ever. Best cheese curds I have had outside of Wisconsin. Great service by Jennifer. Will be back, go check them “
“Cool place with an old time atmosphere. I didn't do much here, just had a drink and left, but the bartender was someone who had lived in the city for a while and was interesting to talk to. There is a casino and games, with food and full bar.“
“This is, by far, my favorite place in Central City to both gamble and enjoy their yummy beers. I love the history and preservation of the old buildings, and Dostal Alley has its own unique charm. Service has always been great. I skip Blackhawk (the sterile money pit) and continue the extra mile to C.C.“
“I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality and creativity of the food and how it was prepared. If it's going to be as expensive as it was, it should be as tasty as it was. Congratulations on the food and the server. We will be back someday.“
“Absolutely the best hotel in Blackhawk. Clean and you can tell someone took the time when renovating this hotel. Elevators definitely need attention. Loved the staff and the Starbucks within the hotel. I would describe recommend this place out of all the properties in Blackhawk“
“The fresh bread was so delicious, and the filet mignon and au gratin potatoes were as well. Espresso martini and cucumber mule were also very good. We had a salad as a first course, and the lettuce was a little wilted and the vinaigrette was nothing special... But over all the steak was amazing.“
“I can't tell you how many times I have driven past this place along I 70.Today I finally stopped in.Now I wish I had done it years ago.I was served by John. John thank you, You were so kind and accommodating.I love this place and I will definitely be back.I really enjoyed the conversation between who seemed to be a regulars here! Funny!Great service, people, food and atmosphere. Thank you!“
