“I'm so glad we listened to the night before waiter. He recommended this location for breakfast - saying you won't be disappointed. The minute we walked in and offered seating to ordering a coffee first; service was outstanding and above and beyond our expectations. Several exchange students work here and they took great care of us. Coffee was awesomely great! We ordered the biscuits and gravy - Homemade sausage gravy over bicsuit topped with 2 eggs your style. The restaurant was very quaint and simply decorated with a subtle calm theme. The conversation with our server was so welcomed and interesting making our breakfast even more enjoyable. The menu is quite interesting and drinks selection was great- something for everyone.Would have loved to stay longer and try their dinners-sounded exceptional variety and interesting. He even told us where to go and how far and what vehicle we needed for the trip since it eventually got rugged. Definitely stop here if you in Lake City.“

“We've been in Lake City for 2 1/2 months and rarely ever saw this place open. Finally, we were able to try it last Friday night after someone told us that yes, they were open, and the food was good. I ordered sweet tea and the tamale dinner covered in queso ($3 extra) instead of red or green sauce. It was delicious. Some of the biggest tamales I've ever seen. The tea was very strong, but I drank it. My husband ordered water and the tamale dinner with green sauce. We were both puzzled when it came out with red sauce, but my husband likes both, so he ate it. There is one guy, presumably the owner, who does it all. He's the cook, the waiter, the cashier, etc. We were prepared to be patient, but I must admit our tamale dinners came out faster than any meal we've had in Lake City yet. The owner/waiter/et al was not friendly. He wasn't unfriendly. He just doesn't cut up or crack a smile. He seems stressed. We saw at least two groups get up and leave because he never waited on them outside on the patio. I have to assume they never saw the sign that says to place your orders inside. I think our dinners weer $17 each plus tea, plus $3 for the queso on my tamales. Very average prices for Lake City.“
