Edited to 4.14.24I have been a regular to Sumo since the day I moved to Longmont. I constantly order the 100 sushi for 100 dollar takeout and they would always allow me to choose my special rolls. Today I was told that they have changed the policy and would rather loose my business than accommodate such a small request. I will be taking my business elsewhere.We sat at the restaurant once and yesterday we took take out. My review is based on both experiences - the food is amazing. The take out was delicious (take out can be tricky, but not at Sumo). So thank you for you yummy food we will be back soon

This is my family’s favorite sushi spot, we come here at least once a month. The food is always good and service is usually okay. Yesterday we went and ordered from the sushi roll lunch special, we had checked off a roll on the paper sheet when we were told that isn’t included on the lunch special list, so we could get it for $2 more. That was fine with us. After we got our sushi the waitress told us that the sushi chefs said that since it wasn’t on the lunch list that they would do it for us just this once but next time they would not. We would have been fine had the waitress initially just said we could not order it with the lunch special. It felt like we were being lectured over it, which seems unprofessional and a bit rude. We ordered over $100 worth of food since we of course love the quality. Maybe the kitchen staff and servers can learn how to simply say when something isn’t included rather than giving a lecture.

Portland, OR could take come cues from this spot. Tasty dumplings and solid sushi. Great service and the atmosphere is interesting, in a good way. I wound up doing my reset (truck driver) nearby and I'm glad I took a chance on Sumo.

Had the lunch special with 3 rolls. Spicy crab, philadelphia and eel avocado, absolutely delicious! Also had the Xiao long bao dim sum and that was tasty. Will definitely come back!
I had a succulent steak teriyaki here on a Monday evening. Vibes were pretty decent and I was served quickly. Portion was more than adequate as I wasn't able to finish all.

Totally mediocre. Tiny itsy bitsy portions for a high dollar. & the volcano roll (my son likes tempura sushi) he didn't like & I tried it & the batter they used to fry tasted weird. Service not the best but not bad.There is another spot in town that tastes way better & price matches quantity. This was my first time trying a different spot & was disappointed. Felt like I threw my $ away & left hungry.
