Sauvage Spectrum Winery •
676 38 1/4 Rd, Palisade

“My husband and our little one stopped in the Sauvage Spectrum winery in Palisade on a Tuesday afternoon in late January and loved our time here - visiting during the off season is amazing!! Much less crowded and you get to spend more time with the winemakers; we chatted with co-founder, Patrick, for quite a while and loved learning about the wines (and all the cool stuff they’re doing with natural wines like pet nats and bourbon barrels) and the winery and vineyards’ history. Also we had learned Patrick has Midwestern roots, so we had to go pay a visit. I loved that I could do a custom tasting flight - I tried a ‘sparklet’, a pet nat and 2 reds. My husband did the red flight and really enjoyed it. One of the best Malbecs we had - and the Mourvèdre had some amazing color and tasting notes (I got a lot of smoke, my husband didn’t - though everyone has different receptors so it might taste different for everyone!). Would love to come back and check out their outdoor area in the spring! (Though we did happen to visit on a gorgeous sunny day, we were just enjoying talking with the team too much!).“

The Ordinary Fellow Winery •
202 Peach Ave, Palisade

“The Ordinary Fellow has quickly become one of my favorite wineries in Palisade. Strangely enough this actually has little to do with their wine. Don't get me wrong, most of the wines here are easily crushable and I doubt you'll find it hard to enjoy a glass or three. There are some big misses also, but taste is subjective and you absolutely should come here and find out for yourself. Why this is one of my favorite places in Palisade boils down to the layout of their space and overall vibe of the building.Their setup is quite unique to the area, providing an atmosphere that town has sorely been missing. There is no pretentiousness or wine snobbery to be found here. Just come relax on a couch and taste some good vino made by passionate people. Have it served and presented to you in a relaxed setting by a chill but knowledgeable person. Come hang out with friends and have a few glasses. Shop for some local art and homemade goods while your here. It's all no big deal man. It's all good. This massive warehouse is more than just a tasting room, it is a community gathering and event space. There is always a food truck at hand ready to help soak up some of that vino, as well as a giant well-appointed covered patio to vibe on. Maybe most importantly; they are open later than any other winery in town, making this either the perfect last stop on your tasting tour or best place to hang out in the early evening when you're not yet ready to switch from wine to world-class bourbon from the distillery next door. The Ordinary Fellow somehow intrinsically knew that there was a void that needed filling in the Palisade wine community. Then they double downed on that knowledge and built one of the state's coolest spaces to enjoy fermented grapes in. Pretty dang cool if you ask me.“

Peachfork Orchards & Vineyards Winery • $$
281 33 Rd, Palisade

“I highly recommend Peachfork! The peach wine is the best one that I've had in the valley. Phil is very friendly and will sit and chat with you while you enjoy the wine that he crafts. It's obvious that he's passionate about wine. There is a variety of fruit wines, whites, and reds. If you like sweet red, then this is your place to stop and shop. I have been here several times and I'm never disappointed! I always buy a bottle or two for later. The prices are competitive and reasonable too,“

Wine Country Inn Wineries • $$
777 Grande River Drive, Palisade

“This is our 2nd stay at the Wine Country Inn with an exceptional experience both times! The check-in process is easy and friendly; and the rooms are super clean and well maintained. This hotel is located in a beautiful setting with a spectacular view from the on-site restaurant. Having the opportunity to have dinner a short walk from our room was a huge plus. I usually avoid free breakfast at hotels but the quality and selection served here could not be passed up! The Wine Country Inn will definitely be our go-to when traveling through western Colorado.“

Talon Wines at the Meadery Wineries •
3701 G Rd, Palisade

“Great place to come to try a lot of different fruit or honey wines. The staff was friendly and there was a decent amount of indoor seating (we visited in December so were unable to sit outside). They also offer charcuterie which was delicious. They have a limited standard wine menu, so if you aren't into sweet wines you may have a harder time finding a ton to try, but I still enjoyed trying the fruit wines and the select red wines they had.“

“Great wine, great service, nice views from their upstairs outdoor seating area, and great atmosphere. James was our server and super nice! He gave us a lot of good feedback on what to check out in the area, answered all of our wine questions, and honestly - we joined their wine club because of him explaining all the benefits of it! “Over recent years and under new ownership, Maison La Belle Vie gets better and better via an expanded menu, additional hours, a variety of first-rate wines and reliable, welcoming service. Hermosa Vineyards Wineries • $$
3269 3/4 C Rd, Palisade

“The wines are really good but the selection is limited to only 5 tastings (maybe because it's the off season?). Ken was very pleasant and friendly. His passion for wine shows and I learned a few things about the process. His tasting room is in a small garage, but it is nicely decorated and felt cozy with a wood burning stove going!Expect to pay top dollar for the tasting ($20) and the wines ($40/bottle) which is why I rate this with 4 stars. If the prices were more comparable with other Palisade wineries ($10-$15/tastings, $20-$35/bottle), it would be a game changer for me to regularly return.“
