First this restaurant isn't Gwyn's anymore. Gwyn's High Alpine deserved 5 stars. The new "High Alpine" is just an overpriced cafeteria with bad pizza, greasy burgers, pre-made sandwiches and salads. The chocolate chip cookies that are packaged are not fresh, they are frozen and defrosted, tasty but artery clogging. The Ullrhof is much more exciting now that it's been rebranded as a burger and shake joint. Grab some fries after, not before, heading up the Big Burn to venturing into Garret's Gulch!

The original Gwyn's High Alpine was far and away the best mountain restaurant on any of Aspen's mountains. Unfortunately, the corporation that owns the ski resorts decided to shut down a beloved family-run business and install a bland, cookie-cutter cafeteria that offers nothing worth your time. You could taste the love at the old High Alpine. Now you can taste the corporate indifference. What a shame.
